Why do you need to rent a luxury car though? Is it any faster than a cheaper Honda Civic? I find it odd how we try to appear above our respective stations in life when the real rich folks are driving regular cars. Who are you trying to impress?

Also, how is it possible to get US citizenship within weeks of being released ON BOND from a US jail for deportation? Derivation who? You look far older than 21.
If, as you claim, you got citizenship via your parents, then why did you come here on an f1 visa two years ago? A lot of stuff doesn’t add up.

The odd part is you didn’t have to post at all! Who are you trying to impress?
Exactly, he should be laying low and not making noise

Hello all,

I am a silent follower of this thread, and I have been following ever since. I have learnt alot from the transcripts posted here.

My visa application was delayed in Lagos on the 13th of December by the guy in Window 5 . Refired again iin Lagos and was granted on the 29th December by the guy in Window 8. Below is my transcript:

VO: Good morning
Me: Good morning. Compliments of the season.
VO: Compliments to you too. Hand me your passport and i20
Me: Here they are
VO: (starts to type very fast) Oh! You were here some weeks ago, but denied?
Me: Yes, I was. (With a mild smile)
VO: So what has changed? (He looks at me intently)
Me: (starts to smile and looking at him too) Well, the last time, I felt I wasn't confident enough just because I was nervous, and I was not speaking clearly, but today I believe I am well prepared, and I have built my confidence level.
VO: (starts to type) Oh, that's good. So why are you going to the US?
Me: I am going to the US to persue a masters programme in Law with a concentration in Business Law at the University of Oregon, Eugene.
VO: (Continues typing) How many schools did you apply to?
Me: I applied to 3 schools. The university of Oregon, Case Western Reserve University and the University of Denver.
VO: (still typing) How many admitted you?
Me: Oregon and Case Western Reserve with scholarships.
VO (stops typing. Looks at me) I can see in your i20 that you'd be offering American Law as a compulsory course, so what's the relevance of that to Nigerian law?
Me: (smiles.) Thank you! (VO smiles back) Well, most business law cases that have been decided in Nigeria first got their principles from decided cases in the US. So I believe studying business law at the masters level in the US will give me that global view and that knowledge of current trends so that when I come back to Nigeria, I will be able to advise businesses and business owners on how to go about their commercial transactions within the purview of the law.
VO: (still looking at me with rapt attention) So what do you do?
Me: (Still smiling) I am an associate solicitor at a corporate/commercial law firm here in Lagos. Told him my job description.
VO: (now typing) how many are you in your office?
Me: we are just 6.
VO: (now looking at my i20) Were you offered any scholarship?
Me: Yes I was. I was offered a partial scholarship by the University of Oregon.
VO: (now looking at me) You know why you were offered? Did you take any test?
Me: No, I did not take any test. I was informed by the uni that the test was waived for me and that the scholarship was solely based on my professional and academic records.
VO: So who's paying for the rest?
Me: my dad.
VO: What does he do?
Me: He is a real estate developer and also has a construction company.
VO: Do you have a bank statement here?
Me: Yes I do
VO: Let me take a look
Me: (hands over the BS to him) here it is
VO: (Takes his time. Checks BS line by line. Types something on his system. Gives it to me back) Are you married?
Me: No sir
VO: Any Children?
Me: No sir
VO: (contines typing very fast. In my mind, I was like God these questions are too much. I don't wanna go home with my passport.) So, I will be issuing your visa. He gives me my i20 and says I will need it at the point of entry.
Me: oh fantastic. Thank you very much and have a great day.

In all, prepare well, cover all loopholes, know stuff about your programme by heart, be confident, smile and look at the VO''s face. Don't be too serious. The VO is human too. Above all, pray to God. Fast too, if you can.

God bless you all.

Bro, are you married?

Okay... Let's leave it if that's how you see it.. I don't see it that way cus I called on him specifically to tutor me but he ran me down.. Anyway am sorry if it looked that way

He ran away undecided ... people and word choices

Please always remember that people have lives outside of nairaland and in most cases so busy that coming to NL is a big favour because the contributors or guru gain back little or anything.

So asking someone to tutor when you have so many infos here and on Google is asking for wayyyyyyyy too much . Although you can set a good example

Hopefully we see you here now regularly tutoring others

1) Yes you have a good chance of getting assistanship which in most cases, your tuition is waived and you get paid some stipend every 2weeks. 2) Credit hours is just like our unit system in Nigeria. To be in status, you must always register for min of 9 credit hours (most times that is three graduate courses, each is 3credit hours) and max of 12 credit hours. Schools charge per credit you register in a semester.

Thank you it is well detailed
So for graduate school one can always do 3course l.e 9credit for a semester?
If a course is $3000 and I am to do 3 which is 9credit hours...my tuition fee would be 9000 right?
Don't be offended I just want to be cleared and have adequate knowledge about the credit hour and the tuition fee

You missed the part where I said they charge per credit? Schools don't charge per course. If 1 credit is say $1200 and you register 9credits, you will pay 9*1200 but mind you, there are still other fees in addition to Tuition.

OK thanks l.e 9x1200=$10800
The $10800 would be the tuition fee right Or the tuition fee differs ?

You need to send your transcript to ECE or WEs for evaluation. Those are the agencies used by Morgan. And it should be sent before admission is offered
