Did you reach and fill this page while booking the appointment? Or did you get to the page where you had to input ALL three MRV fee number on same page before finally booking the appointment? Or you did the booking separately, one after the other?

Long post alert!!!!!!!!.

Gurus in the house. Pls I need your advice on this matter. I'm a frequent flier to the Us and have a valid visa . Same as my husband. My younger sister recently suggested to me that she wants her daughter who is my niece to go to the US. I asked them to apply as a family but she's of the opinion that they might not be granted because they have a pending immigrant application filed by our elder brother on their behalf who is a us citizen.. So she's saying she wants her daughter to go visit this our brother and that I should help take her to the embassy and possibly travel with her if the visa is granted. The girl is about 11yrs old. I don't know how to go about this. The options are : should I apply for her and fill my details in as her sponsor and that she will be travelling with me. Or wait till my visa expires then both hubby and I can apply together with her as my niece who stays with me and we want to go on vacation with her as a family. (My own kids are citizens so they don't need a visa). Will the embassy ask for proof to show she's my niece or proof that she stays with us. I'm just confused. Or can her dad apply for her and state he's her sponsor. But won't the embassy ask who she will be travelling with considering she's a minor. What is the best possible way to go about this. Thanks

You can travel to U.S anytime... There's nothing like holiday or not... if your reason for traveling to U.S is for holiday fine... U.S embassy will not object to that but you must possess the requirement (Ties) before you can be issue a U.S visa.
Thank you for the response. Kindly state the requirement (Ties).

Chances are slim. The visa ratio for family is at it lowest low compared to when Obama was the President, they refuse visa with no reason recently and the funniest part of it you can't ask the interviewer why they refused you. If you want the visa make sure you go to Europe or UK with your family not Dubai or South Africa or else the consular will just flip through your passports looking for lame excuses to refuse you and it hurts really bad like really bad when you are refused. Imagine, if you are South African going to Europe and so many countries your visa fee can't just go into oblivion until they are satisfied with the docs you provided, they will even tell you other docs needed before securing the visa, but in Nigeria US embassy wont ask for docs cos they see us as fraudsters, doc forgers and liars and all the effort put in for visa will end up in a sheet of paper Section (214b) like say you pluck the money. Left for me the US govt is extorting Nigerians massively. Please have a genuine reason before going to US embassy cos I classify them as rippers.
Thank you for the response. But in this case, my wife and two-year old son are the ones been invited; I'm not included. Are the chances still slim?

Everyday is vacation in US, just plan yourself to align with your son's holiday your sister invitation is nothing to them. You are the principal candidate majority of the questions will be thrown to you and a few to your wife. I'll strongly advise you, kindly travel with your family to the UK or any developed country before applying for US visa (reason is to make them understand you can afford to travel financially with no hassles and they will believe you already understand that it's illegal to work with immigration visa like the other developed countries you've been to before applying for US visa) don't go there to look for luck and miracle, cos luck and miracle won't bring the cash back. Be aware that the consular won't ask you for the invitation letter or any sort of docs @ the embassy, if they need any doc you will be placed on administration hold (The embassy works with the Dept of Homeland Security and it takes twinkle of an eye to get your sisters information), they only need you to verbally confirm where she's residing, what she does, how close you are to her, when last you met her and maybe her phone number, if you mention she's unemployed that might be a big blow. You just need to act like she's not important in the picture that her duty is to take you guys to good tourist centers which you should be able to name.

Hello Lady G. Kindly advice. My wife and son got an invite from her elder sister for holiday in US. She is a housewife and presently unemployed. What are the chances that she would be given a visa? And secondly is it true that American embassy don't recognize the Easter holiday as one of its holidays upon which one can be invited.

Chances can't really be said even though we sometimes can somehow attempt to analytically guess it. The Easter holiday assumption is not correct at all, it is in fact one of the times that makes sense to go on holiday.

For the application, a simple question; aside you, what will bring her and your cgild back to Nigeria if opportune to visit the US? Most definitely too, she will be asked what you do.... Are you the one sponsoring the trip?

Okay, fill the form for them both, have their DS160 number and passport numbers handy, then proceed to call this number tomorrow; 014406218 or reach them through Feedback button, it is fixable by them, worry less.

If it is for application/visa purpose, kindly just ask your question here so it will help all of us, it will be handled effectively if within one's capacity. For me, it's nice this place is a faceless forum for reasons as this, just ask. No offense please....

As for available interview dates, Lagos had 23rd February available as at last night. No idea of abuja as I type now, unless I go checking.

why the rush? why can't they wait for the application filed by your elder brother to come through?
or is she not planning on coming back?

anyways, if there's no intended misuse of visa, she can travel with you. Just get a letter of consent from her parents. that should work.

but if they intend to misuse the visa, it may affect your own visa application in future

it's we Nigerians that like complex things, over there, the simplest solution is usually the answer.

Thank you so much for your response. Regarding the application filed for them, they've been on the waiting list for years now. Over 6years . I heard it usually takes time. Some on waiting list for 10yrs bla bla. Anyway , the real question here is if they intend to misuse the visa and how it affects me. Stories might change when the visa is gotten . I've asked her if it's just visits or she has other things in mind , she said no. What if she comes later after visa gotten and says she wants her daughter to remain there schooling and all. Will it affect my future visa renewals?. Has anyone here expereinced something similar?.I think one has to think properly about this o , let me not enter one chance. Lol.

If I should fill two forms, can we book appointment to be interviewed together on the same day and the same time?

You should read the part 1&2 of this thread to really understand how to apply for U.S Non Immigrant visa.

they do free up some reserved dates from time to time so the available dates fluctuates.

all those agents that tell you they can buy date for you just monitor the site frequently and quickly book or reschedule a date for you when a more favorable date is free. it's not rocket science

right now, available date for lagos is Feb 2nd.
so you see, more reserved dates have been opened

I am a 26year old Nigerian, I have a 48years old American lover who lives in New York, she’s divorced owns her house has a job and with 2 kids, I talk to her regularly and we video chat too, both families, she wants me to visit her in America firstly and see where that leads us. she wants me to make the necessary enquiries and let her know what I come up with, but the thing is I don’t even know how to go about all these, I’ve never traveled before. I’ll be glad to get the right suggestions from experts in the house on the possibility of these happening. Thanks

I am just kind of curious. I want to invite a family of 7 for a wedding and i don't really know if a lot has changed. I know it's different DS 160 for each individual but someone told me there is a way of completing the DS in a family way. And also choose interview dates as a group so they all get to be together for the interview without getting separated. I just need a little bit of guidiance on this so I don't get to make mistakes. Thanks. (Please this is thrown to the house) any advice is welcomed.

Tell her to visit you in Nigeria first or meet up in Dubai for a starter.

Oh, okay McKinzie.... Will say the idea I have, others can correct me just in case I'm not getting it right. Just go on the portal, since this is for a family, have a principal applicant amongst them and ADD (as seen on the image from my previous post) each member of the family to his/her profile as people traveling with him/her that needs visa too, then proceed to finally schedule appointment. They all must have their individual DS160 filled out, as well as visa fees paid for each one of them too. Regards

Seyewest, abi no be so?
