We need to get bullish and start investing in Euro bonds also...i bet the people doing such are cleaning out and raking massive returns on investment quote author=dipoolowoo post=64888202]With government's decision to opt for foreign borrowing instead of local borrowing, the rate will continue to fall. Like someone said here, just pray it doesn't go below 10%. That is just the bitter truth.[/quote] |

Good day all. Please I would like to know whether I can purchase Tbills with a brother's name using my bank account in Nigeria. How long does it take to get the treasury bills certificate or a proof of investment. |
| Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by skydiver01: 4:24pm On Feb 08, 2018 |
I think Tbills can only be purchased in the name of the account that purchased them... also principal and interests are paid to the account that purchased them... meaning that the proceeds would have to come from your brother account or an account operated by you in your brothers name.... e,g, you possess a power of attorney issued to you by your brother to operate his account on his behalf... That said, I may be wrong... Dieumerci: |

lowkey28:It is financially irresponsible to rely ONLY on third party opinion before committing hard-earned money into any investment. If you value your money, and you should value it because it is valuable, why not make the NEEDED SACRIFICE and read up about any investment you want to go into, so that the question you would be asking would indicate that you needed something more fundamental than such basic questions which betray your stark ignorance. @lowkey28, I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU THAT HE NEEDS TO READ UP ABOUT THIS INVESTMENT VEHICLE before wanting to plunge as much as N8.5m although that is a mere paltry sum compared to what some individuals here who do not make noise hold. Go and read, read, read and follow up trends on your investment. You can't be lazy about this. Success does not come easy. Ask Jesus Christ Ask the Apostles Ask Dangote And then ask INVESTNOW2017 ![]() |

Khutie:Go to page 365 and watch the first video. Although I quarrelled with the way Mr Ugo explained the way Treasury Bills stop rates are arrived at and bids are alloted, he however explained the difference between the Primary market and the Secondary market well. For better understanding of the operations of Treasury Bods in a video presentation, I posted the second video sponsored by the CBN and anchored by a lady. But generally, as advised about few posts before this today, you should endeavour to go through the previous post's from page 0. That was what I did and I honestly had no cause to ask a single question before I started investing less than two years ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mw2VVuKdTY8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2vAnm6sEWM |

Is it possible for tbills to end, meaning cbn stops issuing. I have a 15year plan and wouldn't like it truncated. I invest all my salary in tbills and want to do it for the next 14yrs and retire. Before now I was into real estate, don't want to regret stopping construction. Thanks |

GODAKPAN:How do you invest all your salary on Treasury Bills. You no de eat or pay house rent? |
| Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Acidosis(m): 2:58pm On Feb 09, 2018 |
GODAKPAN:Not a very good decision. To invest your 14 years salary, it means you would continue to monitor Tbill auction dates for the next 14 years. It means you would continue to visit the bank to request for Tbill form every month over the period of 14 years. Some months, you would miss out either due to negligence from your path or your bank. Some months, your bank will bid above CBN rate. Unless you can receive your 14 years salary upfront, it's going to be a very tedious and rigorous process. Note that, there is no 14 years plan for Tbill investment. Max is a year, so it takes real discipline and dedication to stick to plan. As for the possibility of Tbill crashing, well nothing is impossible but it remains one of the safest. Real estate doesn't even come close in terms of safety and security, seeing the rate at which Lagos state & other state govts demolish and lay claims on properties. Real estate may show higher returns, but it doesn't guarantee safety. |
| Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Investnow2017: 3:40pm On Feb 09, 2018 |
GODAKPAN:If that is your plan, your best bet without any hazzles, but with close monitoring, is Money Market Mutual Fund. You may have a better story to tell with that, for it is tied very closely with TBills. I do Stanbic IBTC, you wont get it wrong with them. I am not recommending but speaking from practical experience. |
