I am a Muslim, so I believe in Polygamy. That it is recommended, but not that is compulsory
Infact most muslim men that I know have only one wife

However, I cannot understand the attitude of our sisters to something that perhaps their great grandmothers took for granted
Polygamy is an African tradition. So it is not imported

I really feel for some unmarried women who are getting old who want to have their own children.
I am not patronising anyone - my sister and mother are women

I ran into one recently - nice and hardworking lady but getting on in years and unmarried
She is no longer so cheerful and is contemplating adoption

It's not about responsible or irresponsible, those men that married one wife and still cheat on them, are they responsible? , it's better to legalize something than to cheat on your wife.
