So i picked up a career lady abi girl today.

Was kinda refreshing because she was decently clothed. E don tey wey i carry girl without some sort of skimpy clothing showing some yansh, or like one girl I picked up last week, stretch mark riddled boobs. In fact, a state of emergency has to be declared, with the kind of things i have been seeing. And the most annoying thing is that they package this thing like say na better thing. I can imagine those horny_ goats that run after these girls like "see boobi"..... which boobi? This thing that looks like suya paper that has been squeezed. Funny enough, the girl in question was just 19. If at 19 you have 10 lanes of dual carriage way on your boobs, what will they have become by the time you are 30? Train tracks complete with train stops? Smh.

That was how i picked up one night Angel one morning. Got her to her house, she came down, wanted to pay, placed her bag on the seat, and just bent a bit to rummage her bag and pay me.... only for.... only for.... chai. ... only for me to see what can not be unseen... 2 things looking like someone angrily drank purewater and threw the nylon away.... you know when you are so thirsty and you are squeezing the life out of that sachet water. and then you hold the squeezed nylon in front of you in a "mission accomplished" esque way? brethren that was what I saw hanging from someone's chest. Lawd have mercy.... I doubt they make bra' s to accommodate such.... My friend, if I give you a dirty slap, you will leave that bag and run inside. Are you trying to intentionally spoil my day? It's not even 7 am and i am seeing ruuuuuuubish! Arrant nonsense!

When I received her request, I was just 1 minute away from her. She introduced herself and told me she was going to the mainland. My head jus calculate the estimated fare... island to mainland, plus 1hr 18mins of traffic..... looking good... I will be right there. There are some trips and riders i dont joke with Riders going on a long distance trip, and riders on a surge trip... Even if they say something that is not funny, i will laugh. cos i know what the estimated fare already looks like..... I got to pick up location and dialled her number... tire. Number no go.... what's happening?. I waited again an tried, same result. Haeeh! I must wait. Where am I rushing to? I go wait oo. i waited. After a while, i received a call and the voice on the other side with a soft plea, said she was sorry for keeping me waiting and asked if i was still around.... Yes o. See foolish question. Where I wan go before? Anom hia, like an unmoveable rock.

Yes, I've been waiting for you.... She apologized again. Ehn? Uber female rider apologizing? I must get to the root of this. Very rare to hear sorry from slay queens not to talk of repeatedly. She said her phone died and she has been trying to turn it on but to no avail. That she is coming out now and will be wearing a brown jacket.....

I hope someone will be kind enough to explain to me what i am about to post, because even I that did the driving, am yet to fully understand what transpired....

So yesterday at about 8:45 pm, having dropped someone off in palmgrove area, received a request to pick someone up gbagada phase 2. I got there and waited about 10 mins before the girl came out. She comes out accompanied by a guy i presumed to be her bf... now i move the car and start the trip and realized that there was no destination set, so i ask her "where are we going pls"

she responds and says "I dont know.... i really dont know" i look at her with the "wtf do you mean" kind of expression on my face and she says she is really sorry but she doesnt know...

so i am like, do you want us to just drive around while you remember or....? and she says ok, she is going somewhere within the estate but that she refused to input it because she didnt want her bf to see where she was going.

i laughed, but in my mind i was like "Na dem"

so i said i understand.... say no more... i perfectly understand. she kept apologizing for wasting my time and i kept telling her it's okay.... because in my mind, na their way. This isnt the first time i have picked up a girl who kissed her boyfriend goodbye and driven her to the house of another boy.... after God, fear women.

so she didnt even let me drive into the street and asked me to drop her right at the entrance that she was gonna walk. i said fine, and pulled over.

her fare was 400naira and she apologized again. after she left, i stayed back in the car to return missed calls and reply whatsapp messages. 10 mins later i was ready to drive out of gbagada phase 2.... as i was driving out, there she was, this same girl standing at the bus stop...

So here i was enjoying a conversation with this girl, but couldn't help but wonder how people are still doing stuff they hate in 2018.... Forget the dead Samsung she was holding. This girl couldn't be more than 26 years old, but she has a car. A car she only bought last year as an investment for uber. Yes, she is diversifying her investment... Wisdom.

Now there are lessons to be learnt from this young auditor rider of mine:

She has a job millions could kill for, but she hates her job, and isn't finding fufillment and happiness in it.

She makes enough money to change her phones every month, but she sticks to an almost dead Samsung. I see someone with set priorities. Someone who only buys stuff when she needs it. I didn't talk to her about her phone or her lifestyle, but you could tell that one day, she will get tired of auditing, and face her true calling in life: fashion designing.

Humility. Owning the world shouldn't make you pompous and arrogant. Shouldn't make you treat anyone like trash or talk down on anyone. Everyone has their forte. Like I told her yesterday, do your auditing, while I do my navigation and driving. 1 - 1. no cheating.

There are good hard-working ladies. but they are very scarce. It's so easy to see when someone is different because you are used to vice. I have met too many stupid girls I can't count, so anytime i meet a good girl, it's almost a celebration, like, are you for real?

If you are unhappy with what you do, it's not too late to make a U turn and be on the right path..... If you take a fish out of the water and ask that fish to climb a tree, it wi'll live all it's life thinking it's dumb and useless. You are a fish... look for your water and swim to happiness. No one is dumb or lazy. Mental laziness is what kills people's morale. Their inability to think out of the box. That's why you see engineering graduates working in a bank. But this is a country that is lacking in mechanics. But because you erroneously think that being a mechanic is a dirty job, you will prefer to kill your potential.... potential that could make you millions being a sophisticated mechanic, working with computers to diagnose and fix car problems..... you will rather kill that potential and work in a bank because you believe you will be clean enough to take pictures for Instagram and look fresh because of ac, accept to take home a meagre salary just to count other people's money while you kill and bury your own potential... Let me tell you something. You are just a fool. And you will continue to be foolish until you change your ways and get on the right path.

My discussions with the auditor cut across many spheres. Got her to her destination and she asked if my number was on whatsapp.... I said yes, and she said she'll be in touch.

If only she knew...
