There is no prescribed dress code, if you're comfortable in your office uniform why not? But no weapons.

I think you meant if your visa is in your expired passport, should you inform the Embassy that you have a new passport? No, you simply travel with both travel documents (passports).

I think he has applied for U.S Visa before and was denied before....now he has a new passport and he want to know if he should contact the embassy to update his new passport data.

Hello all.Silent reader here... Had my visa interview on Monday 26th but unfortunately wasn't granted. Below is my transcript:

V.O. Morning
Me. Morning and how are you?
V.O. Fine....... Can I have your passport please?
Me. Here you go.
V.O. So why are you travelling to the US?
Me. I will be taking some time off work to go on a vacation and it will be great to visit New York.
V.O. Why New York?
Me. New York is a cosmopolitan city that attracts lots of tourist ...... ( she just cut me off and move to the next question ).
V.O. how long will you be staying for?
Me. I will be staying for 14 days.
V.O. Do you know anyone in New York?
Me. No I don't.
V.O. What do you do for work sir?
Me. I am the owner of ..... ( mention my company name) and I hire out trucks , caterpillar earth moving equipment and I supply aggregate stones and sands for building construction.
V.O. How long have you been doing this?
Me. 6 years and 5 month and it will be 7 years by October 19.
V.O. How long have you been married for sir?
Me. (looked surprised) and told her am happily single.
V.O. she apologized and asked how many kids I have
Me. I don't have any.
V.O. Have you travel out of your country before?
Me. I have been to south Africa 3 times and I was there last year July for vacation.
V.O. Unfortunately your are not qualified abi eligible (didn't even remember how she said it) for a NIV at this time this paper( 214b) will explain why and bla bla bla....
Me. Thank you and have a good day.

No documents were checked, didn't even go with any since I have read here that documents are not required . They only want to have a conversation with you. I will be going somewhere else for my vacation by June and will apply again hopefully next year.
My sincere gratitude goes to all the gurus in the house ( Seyewest, Twoods, Lady Guinivere, omobendel, e.t.c) and those that share there transcripts to make someone like me have an idea of the application and interview process. I really learn a lot here. Please Gurus, kindly point out where I go wrong so correction(s) can be made for future interview. Regards

Do you believe that you have strong ties? If you think so, this didn't reflect in the manner you responded. Your response on reason for wanting to visit NY looked like a rehearsed answer, unfortunately, this answer also did not address the question. You should have talked about the reasons why you wanted to visit NY, rather than why other tourists are attracted to NY. Same for your response on how long your company has been in operation, you didn't sound natural.

Your company and the SA trips, for me are your strengths which you didn't use.

When asked about your work, I would have said something like "I am self employed, my business is CosAde Ltd which I started from scratch. The company is into ..... with a turnover of xx million naira last year. Next two years, I am hoping to double that".

For self employed, if you want your business to be seen as a strong tie, then say something concisely about the business, it's past, present and future in not more than two sentences.

Finally, be mindful that the VO can ask for proofs so no lies.

It is quite disheartening to see Nigerians travel abroad in search of greener pasture. Nigeria is a land full of potentials and great opportunities, but why the search for a greener pasture elsewhere?

Believe me, Nigeria is known internationally to be endowed with virtually all the human resources needed to keep a country moving. This is confusing and thus comes this poser, why do Nigerians travel outside in search of Jobs?

However, this is a question I believe most people have an answer to. Trading from the East, West, South and North, I deduced that the reason for this act is linked to political instability, economic quagmire and social unrest.

Watch for yourself the video clip:

In the above video clip, a man said over 5000 Nigerians were alleged to have traveled to Dubia in search of jobs but were disappointed after all. Most of them have two weeks visa, a month visa while some acquired one year, two years and three years.

The message to intending-Dubai travelers is that ‘There is No Job in Dubai’.

I HAVE RECENTLY EXPERIENCED DENIAL BECAUSE OF HAVING VISITED TANZANIA FOR VACATION. MY CLIENTS WAS THERE FOR AN AFRICAN CONFERENCE BEFORE HIS INTERVIEW AT THE U.S CONSUL. HE EXPLAINED THAT AFTER A GOOD INTERVIEW SESSIONS THE VISA OFFICER WAS LOOKING AT HIS TANZANIA VISA WITH SO MUCH SAD FACE. HE THEN TURNED TO HIM AND GAVE HIM BLUE PAPER FOR NOT BEING QUALIFIED. MY QUESTION TO MEMBERS HERE IS, DOES AMERICAN EMBASSY HATE TANZANIA ?

Their decision is in their own best interest, boycott Tanzania let your clients visit South Africa or Kenya.

It's better you shift your holiday to a later period, and fill another DS-160 form. Thereafter, update the appointment portal with the new DS-160 code and print fresh appointment letter.

They will refuse you because you should know the date you choose to travel will not correspond with what will be on your application and visa so why not take the time to change your ds160 to an actual date.

You very clearly admitted that obtaining that visa was for fraudulent intent, so why are you surprised at the outcome?

Please, I need help. I have a sister who is married but currently separated. She wants to apply for US visa with her daughter to visit our sister whom she hasn't seen in many years. It is unlikely she will get her husband's consent to travel with her daughter. Please, what does she need to do? How best does she present her case in that regards? What is her chances of getting visa?

Thanks fo your help.

Biko can someone send me the link for the vos thread.

However this is on the website

General Information

The B-1/B-2 visitor visa is for people traveling to the United States temporarily for business (B-1) or for pleasure or medical treatment (B-2.
Generally, the B-1 visa is for travelers consulting with business associates, attending scientific, educational, professional or business conventions/conferences, settling an estate or negotiating contracts
The B-2 visa is for travel that is recreational in nature, including tourism, visits with friends or relatives, medical treatment and activities of a fraternal, social or service nature. Often, the B-1 and B-2 visas are combined and issued as one visa: the B-1/B-2.
Qualifications

My question is, does this category cover camera crew for a private event?
Cc: Seye, Bendel, KA, Twoods... And any kind soul cheesy

Yes, if no income is involved but this is limited to photography and not video recording or film production.

Updated
"A temporary work visa may be used if your purpose of travel is for the following activities:
Filming material for commercial entertainment or advertising purposes
A media visa cannot be used by applicants whose purpose of travel to the U.S. is to film, or work on a film, intended primarily for commercial entertainment or advertising purposes. A temporary worker visa is required".

This is what happened @Twood they will do an original Tanzania visa and stamp a fake entry and exit stamp on it to show they actually travel to Tanzania and the U.S Embassy got a wind of that and anybody from 21-45 with Tanzania visa from 2016-18 and with no other travel history except Ghana will be refused.

That’s not a “mistake”, more likely you’ve been told you can’t get a visa with a virgin passport and you’ve added fraudulent trips to bolster your case. I cannot believe you forgot that you had traveled outside the country before while filling your application
