There is no way one can get access to bank account without pin, password or any security details makes available by the owner of the Account unless the fraud was by her bank staff. Is either the story is make up or her pin or password was compromised by way of saving it in her phone. Activation of number to Account number has maximum security that no fraud can succeed if the owner does not compromise pin or password.

It is not possible. You cannot get any money from his Account with his BVN. Pls go to your banks they will guide on securities you need for you Account. BVN is just like ID card for bank Account number and cannot be use for any money transaction.

please can someone explain to the house how it is possible to clear another persons account with just BVN. the op may have saved her internet banking details in her phone either as a contact or as a message. just like what most people do choosing their atm pin as date of birth, which can easily be known by these fraudsters. My heart felt sympathy to the Op, it is not funny to loss one's entire savings in this present buharial time.

That is loading airtime to your line and not for transferring money. Every bank has such code. Even MTN has theirs too. You cannot use it to clear someone's account. You can load airtime in the line not even another line. Even if you want to transfer the airtime to another sim it will ask you for airtime transfer password of the miss sim which the thief do not have.

How exactly do you 'lock' your Sim? I actually tried to do this and there does not appear to be anyway to lock it. I have an mtn line and I went over their website. I also called customer care who confirmed that presently, there is no way to password protect a Sim card. BVN cannot be used for money transfer or withdrawal. There is no case here. If her money was actually cleared she should liaise with her bank for investigation on how the money was moved. Never through BVN as it is not used for authorisation money transaction.

It can be used... The last four digits can be used to authenticate a mobile transfer. But, it can also be traced by the bank too tho as you said

With your phone goto
Settings - security settings - Setup sim card lock/pin
No matter the device they put your sim card, without your sim pin, your sim card is useless to them.
Even mere rebooting your phone will require the correct sim pin before your sim can be used.
