I wish I have such opportunity bro, nobody to send me an invitation or help me process visa, at least uae sounds easier to get , or do u have Australia contact?
Just go to Google and you get necessary info on Australia migration.

thanks bro for ur more detailed response, gratia.
can't I get an affordable private accommodation for just both of us, if we can, can u give me an estimate?
yes we both can search for a job, she's a medical laboratory scientist though any oda good job can serve. is the accommodation only the likely constraint?
Sir i will never advice you to relocate and leave your new wife behind and UAE is not friendly when it comes to couple,so i will advise you to try another country like Australia or find some thing meaningful to do with 1.8 million in Nigeria.

A good friend of mine, I met him in Abuja when I went to attest my documents, he too came for same thing, but he had some challenges which I want to share here and I wish that the people in the know here can use that to advice us better and even share some experiences they have had in the past.

1. He paid for a direct employment visa the man he paid to had issues with UAE government because some people he did their visa in the past never returned after visa kalas so he (the agent) was fined huge some, so what he does now is to collect money from people in Nigeria in the name of direct employment visa then he use the money to pay UAE fine.

2. Another if his friend from his town that also stays in Dubai helped him to track down the said Agent and they where able to procure a 3 months visa for him, thank God something is working out but it didn't end there.

3. He didn't have money again for flight ticket and other things so he was able to beg friends and family and he raised the money.

4. He just entered UAE last week but he gave me a painful call yesterday, that he is planning on coming back, that there are no jobs in Dubai that if I come here that I will suffer that there are thousands of Nigerians that their ticket and visas has expired but no means to return home, they are already owing UAE turns of money. That he can't continue like this, that he only eats bread and haven't taken his birth since he entered and he sleeps at corners and packs.

nobody sleeps in corners and packs unless you are stranded which your friend is. Someone that cannot afford a plane ticket ,how can he afford 2000AED monthly for good accommodation.

I have always given advice to all those coming into the UAE , don't come here with an empty pocket , don't come here without a concrete plan on ground.

Anyway your friends story should not discourage you or anyone planning to go to the UAE.

What I think is the problem are

1. When we were at Abuja I asked him if he will attest his certificates he said they were not needed, so he he had no certificate no CV, even when he called and was complaining I asked him to get someone to help him write a CV but he said things don't work that way that there are no jobs here the ones here are hard labour with long hours.

2. He wasn't information at all, apart from the fact that there isn't enough money on him,he seems not to be aware he was to pay for bed space before he left Nigeria.

3. He came in saw many people that have failed then he concluded his case will be like them that under two weeks he is planning on coming back.

Now my question is, is it really true that UAE isn't what we that are still here in Nigeria thinks it is, I ask because I know my guy he seems like a strong and determined guy, but what he saw in Dubai that made him shake the way he did isn't small. So can you guys please share some of the ugly side of UAE so we can prepare our mind better before embarking on this journey. Thank you.

ugly side is truly I do not think there are enough jobs to go round for the influx of "Nigerians" going to the UAE to work.
But your case is different, you must be prepared for the worse but if you can solve accommodation then everything else is simple...food, clothing, Entertainment, leisure is next to free if your job will spare you the time.

I keep stressing on accommodation because the mind has to be settled firstly not 1st week you are on the streets stranded.

Oh outside Nigeria is never easy for Nigerians , be aware of why you are there and stick to your plan.in the UAE discrimination is high but intimidation is low ( they cannot lay a finger on you unless it's planned)

thank you bro, I posted this because he warned me seriously not to come to Dubai that if I have paid for visa its either I withdrew or sacrifice it, that its not worth it, so I am kinda perplexed, is this a normal phenomenon or is he just unlucky.

if you don't have a concrete plan in UAE you will fail bro. That your friend should go to deira and look for Nigerians who tie cargo daily. If he is a fast learner he will get paid 30-50aed per customer...then he can save up and pay rent. Maybe he can be luckier too Nd get help from others there

Uae is not easy, I always said that is better to manage 500k in naija than using it for Dubai runs but it all depends on luck but generally is not worth it

Well, UAE is all about luck and determination. I left the Nigeria feb 4 and I met a wonderful guy who put me through(Ajakayekoke), we always Trekked for 10 hrs dropping cvs and at times complained why we left our country for this place and with more dedication and searches, dropping, we got a job at our various companies and now everyone is happy, thanks to america001 and also the boss Nattybanta for always giving me the hope and encouragement,God is always with you also. So the baseline is if you have the determination and can trek, work very hard then you can come and give it a try. TBC
