All this nonsense typing, is it about the foolish Nigerian doctors that know nothing. Why do you think President Buhari had to travel for medical check up outside. It's crystal clear that Nigerian doctors are not worth it at all. I have first hand experience of how doctors in teaching hospitals managed my mom's health almost to death. Just one visit to a Turkish hospital, all their wrong diagnosis were revealed. And today my mom is alive and strong. I rather die than submit myself to be treated by a Nigerian doctor

Wow! You sure that’s what they’re asking?

Please don't mind him at all!!! that is not what is being asked by Johesu

First a Dr spend 6 yes in sch, 1yr internship and 1yr youth service.= 8yrs
A pharmacist spend 5yrs some now spend 6yrs ,1yr internship and 1year youth service .=7/8yrs

A nurse spend 5yrs ,1yr internship that was started last yr,1yr youth service =7 yes

now a Dr will be employed on grade level 13
pharmacist on grade level 10
Nurse grade level 9 .

the difference is 1academic year now for a nurse to get to grade level 13 she must have worked for 12 good years and a pharmacist for 9 good years before they get to where a new Dr employed today is. Pls is there any way they can be asking for same salary ?

pls is the relativity not created by the entry point ?

Even a level 13 pharmacist or nurse salary is no where near a Dr on level 13 not minding his many years these other health workers have worked to get to 13 that a Dr just came in and is placed cos Conmess forbd Dr is far different from that of other health workers .Drs are just being greedy and difficult.

Some ones profession played out the prerequisite for one to be a consultant in their profession and Drs are saying No mind you they are bit the regulating body of the is other professionals .

There was a case of skipping of Conhess 10 to 11 and the Drs said its criminal and through their colleague the minister took Johesu to court and Johesu won them and mandated the federal govt to implement skipping and pay the arrears mind you it doesn't concern the Dr that are not in CONHESs salary scale but i n Conmess. They then started asking for skipping and went on strike for what they called criminal and the minster approved skipping for them despite the judgment by NIC doesn't include them and they were paid the arrears but do you all know that till today the people that got the skipping judgment have not be paid a dime as the arrears. There was an agreement that both the CONHESS salary scakebfor Johesu and Conmess for Drs will be reviewed every 4yrs .in 2014 Drs Conmess salary scale was increased but till today CONHESS have not being reviewed and this is what JOHESU IS ASKING NOT PAY PARITY . Because pay parity is impossible since they all have different entry points in civil service do there is no way their salary can be same.

sorry for some typos

I wish u could digest the NMA position before posting this crap..
NMA is not against pay rise for anybody but ask that relativity be sacrosanct according to international best practice.. A doctor with several academic battering and fellowship struggle cannot be on same salary scale with a nurse or pharmacist.. forget the age and all, the quality of service isn't same irrespective of how old one has been in service. We must learn to respect professionalism in this country.
Johesu was formed to hang up against the doctors in the health sector because they feel with their strength they can arm twist the government.. Some of it's demands ate briddled with ego, jealousy and desire to reap where one didn't sow. The door is wide open for any who wishes to study medicine. No following short cut, go back to school and be accorded same status.

I must say that foolishness runs in Nigeria. Is there any profession that doesn't face academic battle? You think as a medical doctor here in Nigeria you are qualified? The thing is simple, look into your affairs and not into another man's matter. What's your business with what other staff are paid? What's your productivity in the hospital setting?

Is just that other professional bodies in the hospital let themselves down. They should all go on strike, no member of any of the professionals should accept any package let's see how it pans out.

To JOHESU, make it known to your members that if any of them is seen close to a hospital, such person's license will be seized for a minimum of 3 years and penalty of N2m before it is restored.

What do they mean by if you want to be a medical Doctor you should go back to school? Don't they know the road to school to study pharmacy or Medlab etc Is medicine the only course open for study in the universities?

I must tell you that stuff like this happen because Nigeria is not a serious country. For assuming this stand, if I have my way, I will cut down salary scale for everyone in the Hospital. It seems you guys are just after money.

As a Doctor, I need anyone to assure me that he is perfect in health practice. How good are you in diagnosis let alone surgeries. No one should fool anyone to accept that to be well paid, you must study medicine. It is a stupid assumption, it is foolishness to the highest level.

I rest my case but if you are a Doctor and you have this mindset that to be well paid, you have to be a Doctor, you should go for mental examination or you are telling the world that you know the truth but can't say it.

I am beginning to see you guys as people who are greedy and selfish.

Why do you want to earn highest salary when one can't comfortably come to Nigeria Hospitals and be well taken care of?
Where is Nigeria's president today?
What are your new findings in health?

To be sincere, Doctors aren't suppose to earn more than Pharmacists.

How does upward adjustment of the CONHESS salary scale translate to equal pay with Drs?
How does payment of their salary arrears translate to pay parity with Drs?

I don't know what you guys mean by relativity. Without the subsequent increase in Drs pay thrice which the other health professionals didn't complain about and the payment of their arrears, the level of entry of the health professionals aren't even the same, that alone has placed Drs several years ahead of others.

I haven't seen a more selfish set of people.

It does Mr man. There is no more relativity when that happens. It means everyone will earn the same thing. No difference in salary.

The DOCTOR in the laboratory (PATHOLOGIST) interprets the report and sends the patient back to the doctor in the emergency.
-The DOCTOR evaluates the patient and asks for more drugs from the PHARMACY for the NURSE to administer.
-The DOCTOR admits the patient to the ward if patient is not good to go or discharges the patient if he is good.
-THE DOCTOR in the ward keeps on seeing the patient and evaluating his needs. THE DOCTOR calls for the assistance of the NURSE, PHARMACIST, LABORATORY SCIENTIST/TECHNICIAN, RADIOGRAPHER when the need arises.
But there is always a need for the DOCTOR to be in CONTACT with the progress of the patient.
-THE DOCTOR DISCHARGES the PATIENT home or CERTIFIES him dead as the case may be.

IT BEGINS WITH THE DOCTOR and PATIENT from admission and ends with DOCTOR and PATIENT on discharge from the hospital.

1. DOCTORS WORLDWIDE are LEADERS of the health sector in the best of centers.
-Google LIST OF BEST HOSPITALS IN THE WORLD.
A list of many hospital according to ranking would come up.
-Take the first 5, or 10, or 20 hospitals ONE BY ONE.
-For each hospital Google it's leadership.
-All would show you that the doctor is the head.
The CEO/CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER of all the hospitals have MD or MBBS as their basic qualification. (Most of these doctors have no any other non-medical qualification).

PLEASE GOOGLE FOR YOURSELF
-THE BEST HOSPITALS in the world.
-Then LEADERSHIP OF EACH HOSPITAL.

2.)DOCTORS ARE PAID FAR BETTER THAN OTHER SUPPORT STAFF WORLDWIDE.
This pay gets far different when the DOCTOR is a SPECIALIST: CONSULTANT (UK/INDIA) or an ATTENDING PHYSICIAN (USA).

Google the best hospitals in the world and the salary of the workers.

Google for yourself.
Do not be fed with lies.

3.) CAREER PROGRESSION for DOCTORS.
Doctors have two pathways for progression in Nigeria:
i. NORMAL CIVIL SERVICE where you are promoted to the next grade after every 3years.
ii. POSTGRADUATE MEDICAL EDUCATION, where you enroll into residency and is only promoted after rigorous academic and practical training and passing of professional examinations.
After NYSC the doctor pays heavily to write an exam called primaries. After the primaries he/she undergo extensive training as a REGISTRAR and after 3-5years write the PART 1 exams to become a SENIOR REGISTRAR. After another 3-5years he writes another exam to become a FELLOW/CONSULTANT. Each of PART 1 and 2 exams advance the doctor only one grade level (e.g Part 1 exam after 3-5 years moves a DOCTOR from grade 12 to 13. Part 2 after another 3-5moves a doctor from grade 13-14).
The pass rate of these exams generally is between 10-30%.
Its difficult to progress through the postgraduate pathway. You may spend more than 6years without promotion.

GOOGLE THE TRUTH.

If u wanna be treated like a doctor, then just go and become a doctor!! Make we just stop all this ego and arm twisting. That is what is taking us backwards in this country.

Aa a chartered accountant and a masters degree holder with over a decade professional experience, I will find it very annoying if someone who has a mere B.sc accounting plus few years experience is placed on the same level and salary scale as myself in an office. The same situation applies here

There is no more conhess 10 as it has been skipped already. Every worker on level 13 earns the same salary. The difference is in the call and shift allowance.
They skipped level 10 for you People. Nurses enter on 9 pharmacists, lab scientists etc enter 12. Nurses jump from 9 to twelve.

You see how cunning you are. When you where comparing with doctors you used grade level why when you wanted to talk about your demands you used conhess 10. Why didn't you use grade level throughout or conhess throughout. Liars.

What other relativity Do you need?? when their entry points are not same ? have not created the relativity ?]
all of us will graduate same day spending
8yrs for Drs
pharmacist 7 some now do 8
Nurses 7
and A Dr will start on 12 they now Skipp to start on 13
pharmacist will start on 9
Nurses on 8

so it will take both pharmacist and nurses between 9 to 12/yrs to get to where a Dr enters employment on so what relative again do you want pls

JOHESU demands equity not equality and thank God we all belong to the same world where we can vividly differentiate EQUITY from EQUALITY.

Mind you; this innocent country (Nigeria) is ranked 187 of 190 countries of the world on the WHO health status. Only medical Drs serves FMOH as minister in Nigeria. Who queries them despite such jumbo pay or Isn't that worth addressing than this undue, unethical, often unlawful and desasterous threats and war of attrition on the personalities and embodiment of respected innocent professional colleagues?

We have lawyers and other respected professionals too and indeed NO area of discipline is worth underrating for you can't be the judge in your law court.

THE DRAMA PLAYING IN THE
Don't mind all those confused Nigerians. If u go to a government hospital and meet a consultant, u will understand the importance of doctors. All other health professionals may tel u ur ailment from their limited knowledge. But when u hear from the doctor, u Wil know the difference. They do not usually need checks and test to narrow down their diagnosis. Medical history and symptoms is enough. The tests are just for confirmation.
It takes years of training to have such wide and thorough knowledge.
Abeg they shud stop envying doctors. RELATIVITY should remain SACROSANCT. I say NO to pay parity.
But doctors shud take it easy Sha. Their money don dey too much sef. No be only Dem dey naija ooo.

That being said, buhari, Oya implement a strict no work no pay for that johesu idiots

Your argument look lazy...

Who is sowing and who is reaping in the case at hand?

I am no health worker but the fact that Nigerian doctors are exploiting a skewed system to hold other health professionals to ransom is wicked, criminal if not satanic.

There has to be something patently wrong with the blackman's DNA/gene that predisposes him to injustice and unreasonableness...
If you aren't a health worker, then don't delve into what you don't know.
If you are a lawyer in a law firm with many secretaries and paralegals, if they start paying the latter group d same or almost d same salary with d lawyers, do you think there will be harmony in that law firm?
Will d secretaries obey and work harmoniously under some1 they earn d same wages with?
Is it fair to pay ppl whose qualification are far apart d same or nearly same wages?
Many doctors work for 30+ years and retire, they do not attain d title of consultant b/c they don't have d time and strength for the stress of postgraduate training, but d Nigerian nurse wants to sit behind her nursing station and answer consultant wt no further studies or training as if it is a chieftaincy title?
The pharmacist in all the hospitals have reduced themselves to mere dispensers, not a single clinical input to improve the health of the patient but they want to answer consultant and earn d same with doctors.
If you award a nurse d title of consultant, what clinical input will they make on d patient, bearing in mind that even medical consultants refer patients to other consultants for expert management?
It is b/c of ppl like you that they have d liver to make all these spurious demands.

Reasonable talk. I don't know why people find it difficult to accept and respect hierarchy. All health workers are very vital but in every aspect of life there are strata. If JOHESU are so obsessed with heading health sector why not go back to study medicine. It is just jealousy a la envy driving them crazy, bearing in mind that a significant percentage wanted medicine but were offered paramedicals when they didn't get the required cut off/academic requirements.
Their training differs and so is the rigor they go thro.

Liars.

Pls say the truth. didnt the Dr say that skipping is criminal ?

why then do they demand for skipping after JOHESU won in court ?

why have they gotten the skipping arrears whereas the rightful owners of skipping are yet to be paid since 2011.

if a nurse is on 13 and Dr on 13 mind you that Dr started work today but the nurse have been working for 12 yrs to get to that 13

you are not seeing the light but you've been eluded with ego.. drs cannot dominate the health sector and moreover it's not every body choice to be a dr so y the hullabaloo about your MBBs.
a nurse uses his/her 5 credit to study nursing so do u.
a nurse spent 5yrs with internship =6, u use 6yrs with housemanship =7. so...
you claim with all your academic battering ,sorry not only u has those awards. ask a nurse how many postgraduate course she has attended you'll marvel. some nurses are fellows so.dont be stupid and be humble .
why do u cry when others raise the brow to be awarded consultant it's called health sector for a reason not drs sector.
keep.killing your pts using quakes(auxiliaries) in your private hospitals and you think you're helping the system.
an average dr in this country is a selfish dr.

you are wrong for you to be a consultant Nurse you must have a minimum of masters degree in clinical nursing in different specialties and have undergone fellowship with west African council of Nursing which is another 3yrs program. that is what the regulatory body of Nurses put as the criteria for consultancy if the Dr feel theirs is so hectic they should meet their regulatory body and work it out .You can come and tell another profession how to run theirs

NMA are very greedy set of people.

I'm so happy to know that the general public is becoming aware of the greediness of these set of people.

Did you read the texts properly? How's NMA greedy! All the noise NMA is primarily because of Nigerians and of course their gains too.

How do explain a nurse who cannot even make a clean incision on an adult becoming consultant in Peadiatric Surgery unit and earning higher salary than regs and senior regs who do majority of surgeries in the unit.
