Orlando City's Amro Tarek made the list.. if he were Nigerian he would never have smelled national team football. Think Fenando Adi.
Very corrupt Pinnick and Rohr.

I will keep supporting Kayode. I'd like to see what he can do against Atletico

TheSuperNerd:

So all this talk now... What is the conclusion of the whole matter? because several segments of the discussion have been navigated well and dissected one by one by what I presented across various posts since this kayode discussion began.

The point is this... Kayode's absence does not mean it is over for him. And his absence is also justified because all others picked are obviously better and ahead of him. Do you know that Mustafi lost out in being named yo Germany's 27 man provisional? Even Karius no dey dia yet he reached UCL final with Liverpool.

So let Kayode just keep building on his resurgence and I am sure by next season, he will be doing more even in UCL football and not just in Ukraine.

He is a member of this generation but he is on the fringes of the team. We have a talented and competitive squad... And Kayode is definitely behind some fine talents. Let us just support the team. The future is bright...

that team can play without Moses , i know Icon4s will not like this .

Just like Argentina and Portugal can play without Messi and Ronaldo respectively.

If Moses is unavailable it is a different thing. You have him fit and available and you put him on the bench?

The only chance we created against Poland all 90mins was created and the penalty converted by Moses. That is a kind of player that can single handedly convert a draw to a win or a lose to a draw.

He remains our most dangerous forward.

I have said this in the past, and I’ll say this again, Croatia is our biggest obstacle in this group. I am honestly more worried about them than Argentina. However, the last half decade has shown that Croatia has failed to capitalize on their star studded talent. Nonetheless, they remain my primary area of concern as they are our first opponent.

Honestly, going by names, this team is good enough for a semi final place. But we know these days names only don't play football.

With the kind of quality we have we really need to work very very hard to beat this team. And pray for Luck too.

Argentina never joke with WCs. Forget how they struggled during qualifiers and how they lost to us in a friendly.

Croatia is our biggest chance. If we lose that game it is good night very early.

Icon sir, to be quite frank I haven't been following football closely as of late. I neve realized that Croatia had this much firepower up front. If that is so, them Rohr hoping for a mere round of 16 appearance makes alot of sense. We honestly have our work cut out for us.

Go and watch Croatia play for 90 minutes and let's come and have a constructive argument. Big names on paper, lack chemistry as a team. Slow back line. Am not scared of Croatia they play to our strengths. Its Iceland am more worried about. The Argentina game might turn out to be to irrelevant.

Egyptian players rarely leave their country so they have their best players in their league.

In Nigeria, everyone is looking for an opportunity to leave so all the best players are abroad.pp

Wow.. The guy is a good finisher. I heard he's on his way to Bulgaria for a trial.
I hope his manager will discourage him, he better learn from Gbolahan Salami... Once they go to obscure league, that may be the end of their sprouting career.

You also told us that Osas was a legit choice at right back. When the bar was raised a little, he could not cope.

Umar is legitimately making heads turn in Holland. Let us see Lokosa's impact when the standard is raised.

How many Dutch Eredivise players will represent their countries at the world cup? I will be surprised if anyone can name 5. That tells you everything about that league.
Osas gave a fair good account of himself in Chan. The jury is still out in Ola Aina and Ebuehi who couldn't cope when the bar was raised in the last couple of games.

I am sorry, Osas proved that he was not national team standard in the WAFU cup and CHAN. Whenever he faced a half decent winger, he was found wanting. He was skinned so many times that we lost count. The right wing was like a sieve.

Ebuehi was excellent against Dimaria and Argentina. He was excellent against Poland in his short period on. He had a shaky game against Serbia in the second half but now we know he had not recovered from his groin injury before that game.

The best Egyptian player leave their country when they get good offers, the only Egyptian player who refuse to play for an European team was Mohammed abou trika.

Why did Ahmed hegazy return to Europe after a failed stint with fiorentina he build up with al ahly and returned to west brom.

The Egyptian players you see in their league has no right offer yet,the last time I checked ramadan sobhi was transferred directly from al ahly to stoke city.

Siasia: Ambrose, Ajayi, Ejide Should’ve Been In World Cup Squad; Eagles Can’t Win Trophy

May 15, 2018 10:42 pm

By Richard Jideaka, Abuja:
Former Super Eagles coach Samson Siasia has expressed surprise at the exclusion of the duo of Ambrose Efe of Hibernian and Al Ahly’s Junior Ajayi as well as goalkeeper Austin Ejide from the 30-man provisional list for the Russia 2018 World Cup, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

Siasia told the media in Abuja on Tuesday that the coach Gernot Rohr has made his selection, and his choice of players for the World Cup should be respected because he is responsible for whatever result the team get in Russia.

“I think Efe’s experience and form for his Scottish side Hibernian is good enough to get him into the list, and he would be of immense help to the Super Eagles defence at the World Cup while Junior Ajayi would have added fire power to the Eagles attack, and should have been given the chance to prove himself,” Siasia, who starred for Nigeria at the World Cup in 1994, said.

“All the same, the coach knows what he is doing and has picked his team, we just have to support him for Nigeria to do well in Russia. We cannot win the World Cup but if we emerge from the group stage, our team can spring some surprises.”

Asked if the exclusion of Vincent Enyeama would be felt in the Eagles, Siasia’s answer was an emphatic no, stressing that the former captain of the Super Eagles was not keen to be part of the team and he has not been playing for his club Lille.

He said Ezenwa was number one during the qualifiers and should retain that role for World Cup. Siasia however wished that the coach had extended invitation to Austin Ejide for his experience and physicality.

The bulk of their players play at home because they are paid well. Unless there is a good offer, they do not leave. You would not see Egyptians going to Latvia, Malta and Moldova to play.. When they leave Egypt, It is usually a solid move.

5 Eredivise players going to the WC
These are well researched names, for that you have my applause. But if you have to dig deep to find these names, it means the league in question is not elite after all.

Again, on Osas, I dare say that every good move that CHAN team made came from his part of the pitch. This explains the reason why he got 2-3 decisive assists in the run up to the finals. Getting skinned is not unusual for a right back these days. Bellerin gets skinned every week. Wing backs are judged these days on how much width they Offer their teams going forward. The sitting, defensive type of full backs like Neville, Maldini and Thurman have been phased out, sadly.
I suspect this is the reason why Shehu doesn't play at right back for his club. I stand to be corrected.

Osas was poor, man.. The CHAN team in general was not very good. The quality of players that Bellerin plays against in the EPL can not be compared to CHAN or WAFU cup players and Bellerin on his worst day, is not skinned as much as Osas was against Morocco. Osas was the invisible man.

The eredivise is not on the level of the top 5 leagues but it is a good league. And i did not have to do any deep research to come up with the 5 names.

Ebuehi couldn't cope? Injured Ebuehi....how will he cope when he was injured?

Are you lot not tired of below the belt hits just to make a point? You want to judge an injured player, someone who was PROVEN to be injured, based on what he played with a groin injury

Leave Ebuehi out of your argument and focus on your Osas that is in some oblivion currently. Even in the Dutch league, Ebuehi is highly rated, what is Osas wherever he is playing? Who sabi am?

I do not think, he is better than any of those players.

Nothing in his highlights stands out but he has been scoring a lot and you can't ignore it. It is a good experience for Lokosa and an encouragement to local players.
