Giddyperson, before you pack all these gbogbotigbo, find out how many times they go on break in her creche/school.

In my class for example, our first break is 9.30am. We eat our snack and the kids that didn't have breakfast from home (the kids resume by latest 8.30) eat their cereals. I made a list of what goes for snacks sometimes ago.....
The next break is 12 noon. They eat lunch. School provides food for some and the others bring food from home. There's usually cereal (from home) to back up for picky eaters and the ones that have healthy appetite hardly ever eat cereals in school. Then we nap by 1pm
Some go home just before nap or while sleeping.
We wake up by 2.30pm and have the rest of their snacks.
We close by 3-4pm depending on the parent's arrangement with the school, some stay till 5/6pm.

What I am saying is pack in proportion to how long she will be staying and how often they are allowed to eat as we feed by timing and not on demand in the school unless you want your diced fruit brought back home sour and limpy or your plenty snacks untouched.

Please is anyone using these kind of lunch boxes in the pictures attached below and does it keep food warm and where can I get it if it does.

Secondly, for those with one year olds, what do you typically pack as food for them for day care, I'm running out of ideas and how often do they eat in a day. Jazzyjazz, hunniesuzzie, Enque, Zaynie, Queen, Alphahandmaiden.

Hope I make sense, MS is making my brain fuzzy

Good evening mothers......I have read all the food you pack for your sweet lo's . its quite encouraging. I wish my lo can take all that.

We clocked one on Monday, but he only take pap, cereal, sometimes puree (not always) I just introduced him to hollandia custard yesterday and he has been taking it without any wahala.

Please ma, how can I introduced these our normal food to eat. Another thing I found out is that he doesn't like to take any food that has particles or even small texture. He want everything smooth like pap.

On Food matter , I think it should be one step at a time. If you and your husband like Food your child would definitely not be a picky eater. Every week, try and introduce new food.

@giddyperson, I posted a Food time table that my 14month daughter use then. Now we are 17month and she eat everything we eat. So ty and search or better still tomorrow I will look out for my post on it and resend to you. Cheers

Beans and plantain
Pap
Tom brown
Oatmeal
Fried plantain and egg(with a lot of vegetables)
Bread and peanut
Sweet potato porridge

For fruit:
Apple

We use 2 different coolers for her meals...
She is still messy wt food so this kinda compartment plated nor go work for us... Maybe when she is much older.
Check lushluxurykids or rubifor_your_home on IG, seen those portion plates on their pages b4.

Breakfast - Pap, AS food... I'm tryna introduce bread n tea as a breakfast option sha, since she likes both and presently takes them inbetween meals

Snack - bread, biscuits, fried plantain, banana, apple, boiled egg

Drinks - ribena, tea, water

Early Lunch - rice+stew, jollof rice, beans+yam, beans+plantain, plain beans+mashed titus fish, plantain+stew, jollof spaghetti, any other cooked meal option is fine.
I use either liver, beef or fish to support her meals. I cut them up into tiny cubes dt she can chew easily. For the fish, i debone and break into flakes.

Late lunch - cereal (cerelac or nutribom). I pack 2 types of cereal (sometimes she eats both b4 5.30pm and sometimes she has just 1, depending on how hungry she gets that day)

Dinner - she loves eba and we don't take it t school, so it's mostly had as dinner. She also eats whatever I am having for dinner wt me. (last nyt we had boiled yam+fried egg)
On days when I'm too tired to make dinner, if she has remaining cereal from school, she has that for dinner.

My boy was like yours. We still struggle with rice at 15 months but he's much better. Start introducing lumps into his food gradually. Start making oats without blending (normal quaker oats). Then if you give potato puree start mashing it with unsalted butter. Make swallow very watery then with time start making it thicker...gradually it will work

My baby now eats rice, swallow, potatoes (not mashed) and bread+tea...2 months ago any food that is not smooth will be returned to you as vomit. He still won't eat with you if you're eating adult food and offer him but put soft rice in his plate, he will eat. Persistence and patience is key

@bigiyaro, I think you should continue with the breast milk. One of my kids had this as a baby too. The pharmacist that was to dispense the eye drops told me flatly not to use it. He recommended breast milk and it went gradually. Relax.

Finger foods!
Give him food he can feed himself.
Basically anything you can cut up into toddler hand held sizes and and is soft enough that he will be able to chew or get squashed by their gums.

- Boiled carrot pieces.
- Chunky potato chips or wedges.
- Bread or toast cut into strips.
- Biscuits and cookies,
- Cheese puffs or All Those flavoured puffs fro babies
- Yam - boiled for even fried.
- Dodo
- Boils plantain - firm ripe ones.
- Boiled eggs - quartered.
- sliced fried eggs
- Hoops (cereal)
- Fish fingers
- Chicken nuggets
-Puff puff. - do not underestimate the power of hot puff puff! (Alphababy has been struggling puff puff with me at parties since 9 months even me i shock!)
- Sliced banana.
- Sliced pancakes
- Sliced mango pieces
- Sliced apples
- Sliced or diced avocado pieces.
- Tangerines slices - remove the seeds
- Watermelon slices - remove the seeds
- Sliced paw-paw - although be careful with this as paw paw seems to make some people poop!
- Corn on the cob - don't worry he will eat it like say na rat chop am, and you will vex small that he wasted your sweet corn. grin
- Chicken wings or drumsticks - He is an African child, inside inside he is a meat lover! For wings remove the tips and divide the other parts at the joint.

This will help him understand there are more textures and flavours to explore. Gradually you will see changes.

Do not be scared of the mess, because that is one of the things what makes us hesitate to introduce self fed foods to our babies.

Also offer him from what you are eating as long as it is not too spicy. Let him sit that the table with you and dad at least once a day probably at dinner time. Even if he has eaten, put a plate with some snacks for him or a bit of what you are eating, offer him spoon sef.
Afterwards everybody will go and baff! grin grin grin

Finally always make sure he is supervised when eating.

All the best.

He finished d same portion of Eba with his dad and he will still cry for more. Dis morning, he has eating thrice and about frying sweet potato for him again. I believe it a phase that ll soon be over. Just give them what they wants now and before u know they will adapt to all other foods.

If it’s like menstrual cramp, then it’s your womb that is shrinking but if it’s like normal pain that you feel from your navel down (maybe you feel the pain when you touch your tummy) then it is an infection. You need to see your doctor to prescribe an antibiotics for you.

Please don’t self medicate oo because of your baby.

This one is an infection ooo. Naija hospitals are not hygienic enough that’s why they give antibiotics after delivery to prevent infections from all the touch and insertions during delivery.
Sometimes the drug won’t prevent nothing especially if you don’t take it religiously or you just need a stronger version of it.

Lol thanks a lot. We just changed creche and they keep asking about her snack even tho I just pack all food like hunniesuzzie for every 4hours. Ive been telling them no snack But I started wondering if all kids her age pack snacks and she's the only snackless kid that has no snack at snack time. I'm scared of using snacks to replace a meal so she doesn't go hungry esp since she's not a buscuit/cheeseball fan but I was thinking of getting those compartment flasks and cutting up enough fruits, fish and eggs which she loves and just labelling that snacks. cheesy

lol my baby is back to eating almost everything o since after weaning. Feeding her eba is called "operation delay is dangerous" cuz if she dares swallow the one in her mouth and you're not ready with the next ball, there would be a major tantrum.
