And who has stopped you and the most traveled Africans from using Enugu Airport?

Who has stopped your river ports?

Those with sea port are still asking for improved depth, you are asking for river port that will fly over the shallow seaport?

Thankgod Jonathan was president for 5 years without any Yoruba influence in his government.

None of the WestAfrican nations has our population which explains why we have 4 or 5 viable international airports while they have only 1. Or don't you understand?

Our airports do not suffer from excessive traffic and we don't even have an extensive landmass that might warrant littering the nation with international airports even if the traffic is low.
God bless you my brother. how they always find a way to blame yorubas for everything is what baffles me

there is Enugu airport and pH airport. the government is not the one stoping airlines from going there. the government can build a bus station but you can't force private buses to use your station.

I wonder why you cry babies didn't put pressure on Jonathan to fix all these for you.

I know yorubas give you nightmares but we are not the cause of your misfortunes. the ports in the south south are run by intels an aboki man. face the north and fight them pls. leave us out of your cries.

when we face the north, are u assuring us that u wouldn't join them again to fight us? this is our only problem with u people.

Some of u are just plain dishonest. I was supporting everything u have been saying until u claimed the OP didn't start tribalism on this thread. Come on! The second comment on the thread is by the same OP. It is just a continuation of the first. Look at it again.

Who is dishonest? You must be referring to yourself right? I didn't even see the 2nd post made by the OP, until now. I read the opening post, and that was what I made reference to. If you feel his post was tribalistic, then refute what he said with facts and figures. Do not play the victim card, or spew hate-filled rhetoric.

Is this post below, what you call tribalistic?

front4line:
It seem only Igbos are left in the quagmire of not being able to make their port functional in Nigeria.

you are just running away from the truth

if not for tribalism how can a people that does more of the importing and exporting not have an international airport since, if not that jonathan recently upgraded Enugu. and again is there not supposed to a sea port at Onitsha? is lagos not over burdened already? every year u are repairing oshodi apapa express way because 5million trucks ply it everyday. continue, na una go tire.

the African countries with one airport u mentioned, whats there population and how heterogenous are they?
what international status does PH have before now, it was flying only African countries before now.
the complain of the igbos are genuine

Onitsha does not open to the sea.

And I'm sure that whatever seaport from the coast leads into Onitsha by river, would need that river to be dredged.

Who has stopped that river from being dredged?

Let me ask you some honest questions.

How viable has Enugu international airport been since it started its international operations?

One thing I've noticed with Nigeria is that we prefer to use only one thing till it is destroyed and we move to the next new replacement.

Lagos has international airport because it was capital and remains commercial capital and it is cosmopolitan, Abuja has one because it is capital and a cosmopolitan city.

Kano has one for the North and hajj operations and it is a cosmopolitan city. PortHarcourt has one because it is the petroleum capital and also cosmopolitan.

I can understand lamentations about moving from Abia/Enugu to Lagos and vice versa. But one would think that both Airport and Seaport in PortHarcourt would be useful within its limitations to cater for those SouthEast traffic.

And if indeed there is some topographical limitations and bureaucratic limitations, why were they not addressed by a Southern federal government dominated by Ijaws and Igbos in the presidency, ministries and specific agencies that oversee these facilities?

Even till today, a SouthSouth Rotimi Amaechi is transport minister overseeing both Airports and Seaports.

How are we Yorubas to blame?

Rotimi Amaechi oversees the seaports, while Hadi Sirika who is Aviation Minister, supervises the airports. undecided But please take it easy. They will not see the message you are trying to pass across. They will only look for a way to bash the messenger.

Ojo Maduekwe was Minister of Transport in 2001. What was done about SE/SS seaports during his tenure? Instead, he decided to advocate for the use of bicycles. Kemafo Chikwe was former Federal Minister of Aviation from 2000 to 2003. Before then, she was Minister of Transport from 1999 to 2001. One good thing she did was to establish 24-hours port operations at the Lagos seaport. sadBut what happened to the SE/SS ports under her watch? Rotimi Amaechi will finish his own tenure soon, and the lamentations about the state of the SE/SS ports will still not be addressed, and they would continue to blame the Southwest for having a functional port.

its a new intl airport , so its picking up. since Enugu came on stream my friends from overseas no longer have to come to lagos either by bus or flight , pay for hotel accommodation while processing his papers for weeks, eat in the restaurants, do photocopy, ply transport up and down etc before traveling. so u see why lagos will continue to be having high IGR, because of skewed policies. My friends now spend less like their Yoruba and hausa counterparts. you are still wondering why the igbos love jonathan, this is one of the reasons: ENUGU INTL AIRPORT

Even Diezani was once Transport minister under Yar'Adua.

This will be my last reply to u. U are not up to 24 years by ur childish responses.

The international airport wing in enugu is still under construction. Take it or leave it.

Bye
ok. the question now the local wing is underutilized. I doubt if Enugu gets more than 2 international flights in a week due to low traffic. why should we waste money on a project that is not viable? tell your people to make good use of what is available first. then you can ask for an upgrade

jonathan was in charge for 6yrs with an already made biased constitution with higher numbers of legislators from the north that makes it difficult to change anything but only to just just abide by what has already been biasedly laid down
btw, hausa and yorubas ruled for 52yrs and made that biase constitution and we are all suffering it
oh really? yet you called yorubas fools for asking for restructuring over the years.

How did Yorubas rule with Hausa for 52yrs?

Azikiwe was ceremonial president to Tafawa Balewa from 1960 to 1966. He was already governor general before then.

Alex Ekwueme was vice president to Shagari for 4 yrs from 1979 to 1983.

Aikhomu from Edo and SouthSouth was vice to Babangida from 1985 to 1993.

Akhigbe from Edo was vice to Abdulsalami for 11 months from 1998 to 1999.

Jonathan from Bayelsa was vice to Yar'Adua for 3yrs from 2007 to 2010, and president for 5yrs from 2010 to 2015.

lie!!! a huge majority of your people call us fools and they just want to break up the country. yorubas are not against breaking up the country but ipob started out by insulting yorubas and calling for yorubas pastors eg kumuyi to be killed if he ever comes to the se. ipob saw us as the enemy instead of reaching out as friends!!!
