selemempe:you are a clown what progress was reported in the ports under Jonathan? was it not during Obasanjo's government than the ports in the south south were placed under the care of intels? in what way did Jonathan improve activities at the ports? pls give me news reports to substantiate this claim. btw you said Enugu airport was only 80% completed as at 2015 but Jonathan commissioned it back in 2013 see http://pointblanknews.com/pbn/news/president-jonathan-commissions-remodeled-enugu-airport/ you mean he commissioned an uncompleted project two years before he completed his first term and you fell for his 419 scam? yet you are still blaming afonjas? this is a thread where your people jubilated and insulted us in 2013 even when we told them your sister oduah did a poor job you said we were hating. see jubilation thread here https://www.nairaland.com/1483155/remodeled-enugu-airport-pictures see where people started complaining barely 2yrs later https://www.nairaland.com/4140002/enugu-airport-disgraceful-airport-yet https://www.nairaland.com/3126063/current-state-enugu-airport-runway how you are still blaming afonjas instead of calling for your sister to be prosecuted is what is making me laugh right now 8 Likes 3 Shares |

bigfish3k: Onitsha does not open to the sea. And I'm sure that whatever seaport from the coast leads into Onitsha by river, would need that river to be dredged. Who has stopped that river from being dredged? Let me ask you some honest questions. How viable has Enugu international airport been since it started its international operations? One thing I've noticed with Nigeria is that we prefer to use only one thing till it is destroyed and we move to the next new replacement. Lagos has international airport because it was capital and remains commercial capital and it is cosmopolitan, Abuja has one because it is capital and a cosmopolitan city. Kano has one for the North and hajj operations and it is a cosmopolitan city. PortHarcourt has one because it is the petroleum capital and also cosmopolitan. I can understand lamentations about moving from Abia/Enugu to Lagos and vice versa. But one would think that both Airport and Seaport in PortHarcourt would be useful within its limitations to cater for those SouthEast traffic. And if indeed there is some topographical limitations and bureaucratic limitations, why were they not addressed by a Southern federal government dominated by Ijaws and Igbos in the presidency, ministries and specific agencies that oversee these facilities? Even till today, a SouthSouth Rotimi Amaechi is transport minister overseeing both Airports and Seaports. How are we Yorubas to blame? 10 Likes 3 Shares |

Jaideyone:u see in a bit to castigate me...and ofcourse cajole Igbos u have sounded like a fool The one opened by gej in 2013 was the remodelled local wing...abandoned by fg for a long time. The one which is 80% complete as at 2015 is the international wing...constructed from the ground-up by gej. I lived in enugu till last year so i know. As for wat gej did for ss ports...here are some links http://businessnews.com.ng/2014/10/08/jonathan-unveils-n33bn-port-facilities-onne-port/ https://scannewsnigeria.com/featured-post/president-jonathan-flags-off-dredging-of-calabar-port-channel/ https://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/08/president-jonathan-commissions-onitsha-river-port-today/ https://scannewsnigeria.com/politics/jonathan-performs-ground-breaking-for-deep-sea-port-in-delta/ 1 Like |

Throwback: Rotimi Amaechi oversees the seaports, while Hadi Sirika who is Aviation Minister, supervises the airports. But please take it easy. They will not see the message you are trying to pass across. They will only look for a way to bash the messenger. Ojo Maduekwe was Minister of Transport in 2001. What was done about SE/SS seaports during his tenure? Instead, he decided to advocate for the use of bicycles. Kemafo Chikwe was former Federal Minister of Aviation from 2000 to 2003. Before then, she was Minister of Transport from 1999 to 2001. One good thing she did was to establish 24-hours port operations at the Lagos seaport. But what happened to the SE/SS ports under her watch? Rotimi Amaechi will finish his own tenure soon, and the lamentations about the state of the SE/SS ports will still not be addressed, and they would continue to blame the Southwest for having a functional port. 7 Likes 1 Share |

Throwback: its a new intl airport , so its picking up. since Enugu came on stream my friends from overseas no longer have to come to lagos either by bus or flight , pay for hotel accommodation while processing his papers for weeks, eat in the restaurants, do photocopy, ply transport up and down etc before traveling. so u see why lagos will continue to be having high IGR, because of skewed policies. My friends now spend less like their Yoruba and hausa counterparts. you are still wondering why the igbos love jonathan, this is one of the reasons: ENUGU INTL AIRPORT 3 Likes 1 Share |

Jonathan flagged off the dredging just the same way he flagged off the the second Niger bridge but after the flagging off nothing was done!!! so Jonathan commissioned Onitsha river port on 2012 and till 2015 he didn't concession the port for a company to run? that is your own son o. your son didn't do something for you in 6yrs but you want the aboki and afonja that you hate to do it hahahahaha btw click here and see the pictures of your wonderful Enugu airport as at 2014 https://www.nairaland.com/1868161/enugu-airport-flood-pictures http://encomium.ng/passengers-wade-through-flood-at-enugu-airport/ lmao 3 Likes |

bigfish3k: How did Yorubas rule with Hausa for 52yrs? Azikiwe was ceremonial president to Tafawa Balewa from 1960 to 1966. He was already governor general before then. Alex Ekwueme was vice president to Shagari for 4 yrs from 1979 to 1983. Aikhomu from Edo and SouthSouth was vice to Babangida from 1985 to 1993. Akhigbe from Edo was vice to Abdulsalami for 11 months from 1998 to 1999. Jonathan from Bayelsa was vice to Yar'Adua for 3yrs from 2007 to 2010, and president for 5yrs from 2010 to 2015. 7 Likes 1 Share |
