Okay guys. Finally the day I've been waiting for came. At 7am, mt uncle's orderly came to pick me at his Ikoyi residence. Zoomed on a customized army bike to V.I for a interview slated for 10am. After so much senrere, we entered the visa hall, started from the fingerprint, then to the interview stage;

VO: Passport please....why you going to Texas?
Me: For the international conventional of the bla bla bla.....
VO: Are u married?
Me: Very single
VO: Have you travelled out in the last five years?
Me: No, been so busy that I don't have the time.
VO: How long will you stay?
Me: Within 2weeks

Naso VO drop the bombshell......sorry Kini kan kan..gives me blue paper

Mehn....me just codedly put everything inside my black blazer, go meet my orderly wey don wait tire outside. Zoomed off.

Wasn't sad and wasn't happy. I'm 25, US can't spoil my vibe. Life goes on. Hopefully, I will go if the opportunity comes again.

I noticed that many were issued the blue paper. Those given prolly have travelled out before AND married.

Naso one bad guy dey try ask out a blue paper recipient...LOL.

And to the wonderful guys in this thread, keep it up and stop bashing each other.❤

This guy funny sha grin!!!

You seem not to understand my point. But it's fine. Let me summarize it here:

1. It's perfectly okay to criticize. Covering up is wrong.
2. However, the criticism shouldn't be condescending or insultive.
3. Also the criticism should be constructive and properly directed at the right audience.

Personally I think we are saying the same thing. Perhaps you don't know the aspect where I disagree with TWoods.

But if you still insist that it's okay to be condescending and insultive while criticising. If you insist that it's fine to denigrate the country in the international community, then it means we aren't saying the same thing. And I'd say good luck with your views. I rest my case.

May God help this country along with it's inhabitants.

Exactly my point. Must he be rude at all times? Twoods should learn to show a tiny little bit of manners phew!

The things I am reading on this thread are quite funny, when someone says "Corruption is fighting back" and tag certain names as not being corrupt and others are referred to as corrupt because we ask that people should correct without insulting others it makes you seem like a clown.

That said, members of the house continue to ask questions hopefully people will respond without insulting. You don't deserve to be spoken to in any ridiculous manner just because someone feels he's in a better position than you.

As for interviews one thing I know is honesty and boldness matters. When they use lie detectors during criminal investigations, if a person lies, there's often a change in heartbeat. This can show through physical signs too. The VO, is trained and watching out for signs like these.

Travel history matters, relevance of your trip is key too, marital status shouldn't matter but it does because it forms part of your ties to your homeland, age is also a factor for singles but as long as you can establish enough ties then you are good to go regardless

I agree with your view. Some anti Twoods posters were on the fulcrum that his delivery of a good message was rude, ascerbic, condescending etc and not against the message.

I apologize for my brother Bendel if he called any of those well meaning folks corrupt. kiss

I totally agree with you on this, I don't comment much but I have held this position since season 1 of the thread, I chip it in once in while but hey its a faceless forum so people have the liberty and right to their opinion but to be insulted, am never going to go for that. In case you don't know or you are new to this thread, PLEASE don't make an INNOCENT mistake in your visa journey and come to this thread looking for explanation o! you might be found guilty until proven innocent (unfortunately there will be no room to prove your innocence).

Good morning people!
I need help pls... I have filled in the DS-160, made payment and about to book appointment. I have created the profile and entered my receipt no, however, the next available date was quite far, so I I logged out and did not book at that point.
I logged in again to book, but it’s asking for the receipt no and each time I entered, it says record does not exist.
Anybody with a similar experience or an idea? Pls assist.

Making an appointment each time I set to make an appointment for my family friend the portal keeps saying no available date. Like I said in my previous post she was denied last moth. Do we need to wait for 6months before trying to reschedule her appointment and Is the receipt number still good?

I'm surprised I've never visited his profile before, just did. He hasn't come on/ been seen on Nairaland for well over 48hrs from records. In essence, dude may have been up to some other business without even knowing of the "corruption t
hat has been fighting back" against him. Hopefully we hear from him pretty soon, not in a blazing with fire mode though (toning some aspect down wouldn't be bad), but the truth where it hurts must continually be said by him to those deserving it....

A couple of names I earmarked in my mind won't join the bandwagon haven't let me down at all, just remaining one or tw persons I want to see where they stand. Thumbs up LadyG, NothingDoMe, Sugah, Justwise, Shrekandfiona, pureTayo, Seyewest, etc for holding up! Loads of regards....

If you call advice to prepare pride then you are not ready.
I have no apologies for that. I have had a visa for some time now. But guess what? I never get tired of reading so I no go carry last for POE.
Let me tell you a story. A few years back I made enquiries from a friend who just came back from Cyprus and she told me all I needed was a visa on entry as long as I had a valid us visa or/ and I bought a Turkish visa online. I believed her. After all she had been to Cyprus.
Imagine my shock when we arrived and we were told that the policy we heard was correct....except that they privilege had been revoked recently for Nigerian and Pakistani folk. Ha!

We spent a night in the golden cell. No window, no hot water. Dry bread and water. Why did a "gbogbo bigz girl" like me suffer all these?
1. Because Naija has a bad PR
2. I didn't research.
It took high powered upanddan, phone calls to some people before we were stamped in. I don dey wonder, after all the plane and airport Pishure upload, how I go go back next day...

What applied last week may no Longer apply. If you can't research and see being told to do so pride still, it's still your concern dearie. Experience is also another teacher where pre education is not garnered. .

Anyways..... I'm still waiting for Twood's rebuttal on his brother 's change of status. Wondering where he is. Too much time cheesy

Hi, Urecee you should have already booked an appointment with the embassy by now, if you have not done so i don't think you will get an appointment date before august now, but that aside, if you are current with the news Canada has asked the US in Nigeria to be more strict in giving visa now and all the fake document no longer apply, so,
1, make sure all document you are taking are real and take all the originals,
2, Since you say your husband has some money, have him deposit some money into your account like 500k up wards.
3, a part from the first deposit your husband needs to be making monthly cash deposits into your account to build up flow and traffic on your
bank statement.because from what i hear now if you are given visa the embassy collects your bank statement and checks with the bank so if you have a fake bank statement you can be ban from the US.
4, what ever amount you have on your bank statement make sure you leave it in your account till you collect your visa from DHL if you are
given.
5. As a woman going alone make sure you stress that you are married with kids and your husband can not follow you for now because he is
busy with work and make sure you also show that you are make some form of income here in Nigeria.
6. don't tell them you are going to stay with anyone, do a hotel booking online for the period of your stay, you have to make them see that you
plan of returning to your country.
I hope this few points help out. good luck.

Good Day

you guys are doing a really good job on here. I need informations,i have brushed through this thread but i want to be concise on my step. I'm a Nigerian but living in Ghana,i 'm in love with this lady, shes from the US,we fell for each other,we been talking and she said she wanna meet up,as a novice,i mistook Dominican for Dominican Republic as a visa free country for Nigerians, but when i dug in deeper, our passport is exempted, long story short,we couldn't meet at Dominican Republic.

So she want to fly down to Ghana, but hotel fees for days shes gonna spend here is cut throat, she even said the Dominican Republic hotel deals were far better.

So we reached at a conclusion for me to come this summer, before this June runs out,i'm staying at her house,we planned a month trip, the beach,DC and a lot of exciting stuffs.

I want to go apply tomorrow but i'm seeing replys that its gonna take 60 days to be processed, but i saw something about Emergency Cases,i want to know if i can apply for that category so i can leave before June runs out. I just wanna be certain,i wanna make enquires about their Medical School in her City,so part of the plans i'm going to visit.

Humble replys and advices will go a really long way in helping my ministeries, thank you so much, waiting for your answers to my question.

Sorry for taking a lot of your time
