Thanks for this nice post.

I want to write something on my blog about stolen artefacts, and I need get one important piece of information. I want to get some data by the Oba's representative that he talked about in the below TV show, when a white man returned a stolen artefact stolen by his grandfather in 1897 in Benin.

Do you have access to the Edo monarchy and can you help me get some information?

A depiction of an execution on an all red colored flag is the most psychopathic idea of a flag a nation can think of.
I however agree with you that Nigeria's flag is utterly boring and totally devoid of creative ideas. It looks like a flag dat was hurriedly put together few hours before the independence day parade.
The blood of those killed hold a special place in ou heart, that we it needs to be represented

A quick note here. Benin is not a tribe. It is more of a culture. The sub-tribes make up the Benin people. A remnant of a previously very diverse Kingdom/Empire. Reason is within the current core Benin areas, there are still indigenous, Yoruboid people (Usen, Utese, Iguogho, Egbeta), Izon (Gelegele) & Igboid (Igbanke) people.

The monarch sits at the top of that cultural heritage with Benin language as the central language. Benin is just called a tribe for simplicity sake. But the imperial history still reflected in the culture is much more complex.
Do you know what i love about edo??..its there unity and togetherness, you will see benin man supporting esan or other tribes so far he can do the job well..

Every culture and tribe in Edo state has a role to play both in developement of the state or the oba palace

Very correct. Many people do not know that non-Benin people have risen to high positions in Benin Kingdom in the past and still do.

A lot of Iyase (Prime Minister & second in power to the Oba) have come from outside core Benin areas.

Two have come from Akure (Ado-Akure) and most famous is Okoro-Otun. A street is named after him in GRA Benin. Another is Otokiti from Bayelsa. The current Iyase (Chief Igbe) is of Urhobo origin.
Benin has a lot of meritocracy historically. People of various tribes who excelled in war became heroes. Example is Ogogobiaga who was Igbo. Several Esan people too.

Most people do not know for example that Asoro, whose statue is at Ring Road was a Yoruboid Benin person from Iguogho in Ovia, not from Orhionmwon as some presume.

The tribal politics we have in today is fairly recent.

Onitsha land never belonged to Edo at any point.

Even your wack history says that Onitsha was founded by a Benin Prince called Chima.

Does that sound Edo to you? Chi ma obi means God knows the heart.

Obi is Igbo for heart or Palace not the corruption of Oba.

So never drag Onitsha into your delusion again. You didn't claim Asaba that is closest, it is Onitsha you want to claim.

Ure ignorant on history.....

The story is simply when benin got to asaba they made it a colony after later the years a son from the Royal family bearing the igbo name in asaba went to rule onistcha the igbos maintained their true origin apart from the royal families there

Thats why u hear upper eweka rd in onticha gotten from oba eweka in benin.... Yoy also hear osadebe over in edo is osadebamwen you also here okoro which is common in benin Delta nd igbo name.....

Keep deceiving urself.

Just listen to yourself. A son from the royal family bearing Igbo name. Does that make sense to you?

Eze Chima is from Aro but resident in Benin. He migrated to Onitsha to establish Onicha.

Iweka is purely Igbo. Iwekanjo means Anger is dangerous.

Osadebe might be Bini, I don't know, but it also have meaning in Igbo.

Okoro is Igbo meaning A youthful male.

Onicha might be vassal of the ancient Bini empire but was never founded by any Bini prince.

Bini claimed they founded Ijaw, Yoruba, Igede in Benue, Anioma, Igala and almost all ethnic groups in the South.

Keep grabbing lands.

This flag represents the practice in Bini palace to keep and use indigeneous Edo men as blood sacrifice to their royal ancestors in Ife.

If you notice, this is image of an executioner and the red stand for blood.

No Edo person has ever been sacrificed by the palace.

It always been your kind, the palace sacrificed some and the rest sold into slavery.

Who was Eze Chima in Benin? Was he born there? Do u know if he actually a Benin man that changed his name after migrating?
I heard he was a nobleman, a royalty when he was in Benin.
Do you really know who he was? I don’t know that’s why I’m asking.
