Surrogacy, How Effective Is It In Nigeria? by osomegbe(m): 8:55am On Jul 28, 2018
I want a baby girl and for some reasons best known to us and doctors advice, i don't want my wife to get pregnant again. can i get a surrogate mother here in Nigeria and what are the cost and processes. Is it also legal in our society?

We talked about adopting but i felt we will not feel that fulfillment as our child. Don't get me wrong, i love other people but your blood is your blood. i take care of other people children in whatever way i can?

please, i need to know.

You can contact fertility clinics. That's where you can get first hand info about surrogacy. Some have surrogates on waiting lists. I don't think it is illegal

Yeah, blood is blood. But, will your wife feel so, considering that she didn't actually birth the baby? There is always the risk of emotional difficulties with surrogacy and adoption.

Never heard of anyone who got their child(ren) through Surrogacy in Nigeria. Like the first reply you got, go to standard fertility clinics and make your enquiry.

This guy is funny. You're a clean example of a heavily influenced chap (Western media influenced, pop culture, literature, Hollywood).

Have you taken enough time to ponder on what surrogacy really is? The compliance, the risk of becoming a root to the end of your marriage, etc.?

If you want another child and don't want adoption, simply get her pregnant. Simple. If you don't want her pregnant based on medical grounds, I understand. If it's cos you(or she) don't want her banging shape 'lost' then be honest with yourselves and don't go that route.

It is not as simple as it looks on the surface.

All pikin na pikin .. don't get me wrong.. but why exactly are you bent on having a baby girl. It's odd in the Nigerian marital atmosphere to want a baby girl at all cost undecided undecided

Then tell ur wife to marry a woman for herself.since u cant go for a second wife...which automatically makes her the mother of the child.

Really?

I still doubt if surrogacy will work in this part of the world considering family influence in marriages and will the family of the surrogate mother not interfere if they got to know about such arrangement? Even will the surrogate mother keep to terms of agreement and not want to play a part in the child's life?

Not sure our society is mature for such cos we still hold importance of marriage in high pedestal.

Contact fertility clinics. But, your Tradition will play an important role in this. Before you proceed, ask elders in your community what the tradition says about it. Don't put both the baby and your wife in future problem.

I have a very strong feeling that if you adopt, from the first day you hold the baby in your arms, you will feel veryyyy blood connected.

There are experts who could help you achieve that. But In all you do, never you reveal much information about you. I.e. name, address, contact, etc.

Tomato contains some components that could improve sperm morphology (shape); men with the highest tomato intake contributed to between 8 and 10 percent more ‘normal’ sperm.
