The only stock that has been better than Fidson in terms of returns for me so far as a newbie is Diamondb.

Caverton simply took money from my hands but it will pay back with interest in due season.

We are affected more by than anything else!

Check other emerging markets where there is no election to better appreciate the issues.

When there are multiple factors that could affect a market at a particular time, it's often difficult to tell which is having more effect than the other. Even though most emerging markets are falling across board due to US interest rates, the fact that Nigeria has an additional negative tension in the air (election drama) makes the NSE a riskier market for now compared to the others. Hence the need for CAUTION.

Even though there is bear now and some prices already look attractive, if you weigh all the factors, it is more likely that the market will fall more, than seeing any bull soon. So the point is why would I buy a stock now when I can get it much much cheaper soon.

And mind you, US interest rate/elections apart, we're entering a period that is often bearish on NSE most years.

Nevertheless, I don't think prices will fall as much as they did in 2014/2015.

It's just my opinion, no one can tell surely what will eventually happen.

MARKET IS NOW CLOSE TO 50% FIB RETRACEMENT!
On the weekly chart, NSE index is now close to a major support at 34900 which incidentally is at Fib 50% retracement level. I expect some reaction at this price level, as it has acted previously as a good resistance in late 2014 and early 2015.

But if the index zoomed below this level, the targets then goes to either 61.8% or better still 78.6% level. 78.6% fib level is the sweet spot and any price rejection at this point should be taken seriously because many stocks will also come with good rally.

Time is the key in this market. Will the tense political environment continue to drive the market lower or global uncertainty will have ripple effect on NSE? Only time will tell. But there is no need to be afraid, market is creating more opportunity for many to make money, we only need to be patient and enter the market at the right time...

BBM, wouldn't that huge sudden drop in DangCem distort this supposedly support level? How can one account for that while analyzing a chart? Wouldn't this be a case of the index seemingly looking like it has gotten to a major support line whereas majority of stock on the index are yet to hit any major support? Is there any other signs/xteristics that will show this on the chart?

MSCI- NIGERIA MOVEMENT FOR 10 AUG 2018/GENERAL COMMENT

Surprisingly MSCI-Nigeria still maintained a clean slate on 10th August 2018, despite the huge negative drop in the All-share index. This is a pointer that the market will still move lower before we can see any respite.

There seems to be many shares looking for buyers. For some equities, which seems low, support is about to become resistance. If you, mistakenly buy now and the price reduces, this price you have bought will be the prices others who may buy lower will be selling!!!

Let us see what the week will offer, any support in sight is not likely to show in view of the high gear selling that is ready to break the closest support on sight, let us see if the 34,892 point will hold.

I am not interested in putting ant money in the market this moment in time. I see no good opportunity.

Using the fund’s portfolio as a guide, “green” mean buying while “red” is selling.

Caution: This is for information purpose only. Data used are assumed to be correct. However, you may want to verify the data from an appropriate source.

...good question there!
The index often follows the big capitalised stocks which DangCem is absolutely one of them. As the index is close to either support or resistance level, what I first look out for is market reaction in form of any rejection candle, especially a pinbar. If pinbar is established with associated moderate or high volume, then a reversal is most likely to occur. I can also look for divergence using indicator at this level to confirm reversal possibility. If none of these is observed, then, there is high likelihood that the support/resistance will be easily broken.

Looking at DangCem chart also, you can see that it's close to 61.8% fib level, that is also a major support level at N201. We look for market reaction and who know cool

...that one na course 103 o. The summary of it is that we have +ve and -ve divergence. You look for +ve divergence on indicator if you want to buy. What this means is that as price is falling or creating Lower-low, your indicator (e.g RSI, MACD) is not falling along rather it is forming Higher-low.

Let me cherry pick a stock for explanation... See the chart below, while the stock makes a new low (RED letter L), the indicator - MACD-H, instead did not make a new low but rather a low (RED) that is higher than the previous low (BLUE). This is +ve divergence. And see what happened to the stock after the divergence, it rallied to...

I have discussed extensively about pinbar in my previous post, you might want to check it out!

Hope it is a bit clear.
