Meanwhile SARS were at the other side of the road doing their village thing !! When my guys came naa in their Hyundai Jeep, police stopped them and started harassing them ... My guys called me, I picked up, they asked where I was that they've gotten to challenge, I said av seen them Buh a pack of rizzla was in my bag !! I just had to Sinclair it.. Then I got there, the SARS started bombarding me with their mumu questions, which I answered well.. To shaa cut my long story short, we bribe them SARS with #570, #70 from the change I collect from where I buy 20mg Tramol and pure water.... Last year, immediately after camp in Isi-Emure, Ekiti state, I had a friend who accommodated me in his Msc apartment in ABUAD, meanwhile I was posted to a firm about #300 from ABUAD. It is one of the biggest firm in Ado-ekiti. The manager kept telling me to come back tomorrow for about four days with my #19,800 being at the lowest ebb. Everything was finally settled one thursdayevening around 5:30 p.m. And I being a person who doesn't like bugging people, I decided it was time to leave Ado-ekiti that night and head back to south-south. I boarded a bus to Akure, and got to Akure by around 7:30 p.m because of bad road. When I got to Akure, I boarded another bus to Benin city. We arrived Benin by 11:00 p.m, and all the while I was still wearing my NYSC cap. The bus stopped at one Filling station where they were "loading" Onitsha and Enugu and it was already 11:30 p.m then, when one man saw me going to board the bus to Onitsha, he said, "Corper wey you dey go this night?'', I told him I'm going to South-south, he then advised that if I don't have cash to lodge in a hotel that night, I should just hang around there till day break that the place is always busy at night. He further said that the car I wanted to board may not take me to my destination and may be a ritualist car. Unlike me, I heeded to the advise. I stayed there till 5 a.m without blinking an eye, thank God for my smart phone that year. The next morning, I just washed my face, brushed my teeth and boarded a bus to Calabar. |

I have been stranded on countless occasion since I am always travelling long distances but there is this one I can never forget. was travelling to Jos from Owerri after my exams with my friend living in Jos too. After paying my transport fare, I only had small change left on me. left Owerri around 7:30am. The journey was going on smoothly until just after akwanga in Nassarawa state, right in the middle of a small forest there our vehicle got spoilt. The time was around 4:30pm then. There was no single network coverage there, no single building just bushes. The driver decided to go back to akwanga to get a mechanic. We were 7 in the vehicle excluding the driver. We waited in that bush till around 6pm no sign of the driver. The other passengers saw an empty car and hopped in at 1k5 per person, leaving only myself and my friend. I had nothing on me but my friend had 1k . Time was around 7pm, no sign of the driver yet, only Fulani heardsmen passing occasionally with their cows. Everywhere was already dark and we were just sitting ducks there. We started waiving down vehicles shouting Jos, some would stop but would refuse 1k for the two of us. We were already planning how we were going into the bush to hide for the night when a man stopped we begged him, he was skeptical at first but agreed when he notice we were from the same tribe. His jeep was even faulty so we were just strolling with the car. That day was scarry as f*ck, I can't forget it. reached Jos around 12 am. The next morning I stormed the park in Jos looking for the driver, I was ready to deal with him mercilessly. They hid him and were begging me. moral lesson: If possible, never travel without extra money. I learnt the hard way. Thank God for that my friend cos if not for his 1k, I would have slept in that bush. |

Went to write an exam in Abuja (NASS) and left for Akure very late. In fact there was no bus but after a very long search, one came filled with all manner of humans and animals. The bus was stinking of stench but 9pm wasn't a time to select a bus. Now the ish was that the driver was trying to outdo James Bond in a not so sound bus. It was really scary but we were hopeful. When we got to Akure, I was the last passenger to alight from the vehicle at around 1am; all I could see was an empty town with heavy police presence. The bus driver made a u-turn and drove back. When I was trekking down, I noticed a corpse lying on the floor, apparently there was a bloody riot which claimed lives. Thankfully, I wasn't harassed by the police but after a long trek of about 3 km, I saw a church having their vigil. I crashed in there with my load, got a sit at the back, lay head on the sit in front and slept till 5am. Not even the Pastors nor the Ushers woke me up |

May God help Africa even if the developed societies actually helped themselves to get to where they are today. But if their God doesn't answer them, they should also try the God from Thailand or China. Who knows.. |

My first travel outta naija to Europe was in early spring. You know that kain thing wey you dey travel from our hot tropical heat, I just wear shirt and jeans with pams enter plane. All my thick clothes were in the check-in luggage, and I had planned to buy jacket when I arrived. My dear, on landing, I was greeted by icy winds and unimaginable cold. To make matters worse, I couldn't log onto the airport Wi-Fi to see the train and bus schedule. Na so I take cab o. 50mins journey to my destination, I had to pay 3x what it would have cost me by train. |

Mine is so full of intrigues,I had been stranded several times, many years ago I was in Abuja, looking for job all to no avail, nowhere I didn't use this my two legs trekked to,I was squatting with a cousin in jabi before it was demolished, from jabi to secretariat, all the area one to ten, maitama, banex plaza area, garki, wuse from zone one to six,I couldn't get a job,was only a secondary school leaver with a computer certificate then, had to settle as a caddy at the golf club at aso drive, work was mostly weekends, while weeks days I go for menial jobs in sites around jabi, airport road citec I worked the hell out my life there, they are still owning me 600 bucks, having pass through all these,El rufai demolition squad brought down jabi one and jabi two, daki biyu and all nearby environment, I had nobody to accommodate me,my cousin that works in a hotel at wuse zone four start staying at the hotel premises,I had no choice than to go back to my home state delta or go to my relatives place in Lagos. Where I used to work at sites in utako area, most dangote drivers was our friends,we have to be nice or in some cases bribe them with drinks so our names will be included to offload a trailer load of cement,on this particular day,I made up my mind to move to Lagos,so I ask the driver his destination he said Lagos and was happy I pleaded with him to follow them to Lagos which he gladly agreed,I collected his number, dash back to pack up my few belongings, I was so tired of abuja then,I have had enough,I call the driver after am done,he said he was on his way and that he will wait for me at gwagwalada but if I can't meet up am on my own, with 600 naira with me,a loaf of bread,I hit the road to gwags entering small cars that moved very fast,on reaching gwags no sight of the so called trailer, I called him,he said he couldn't wait that I should meet him at abaji,I quickly hit the road and moved fast on reaching abaji, the idiot said he will wait for me at lokoja,my resources was down,I said forward ever backward never,on reaching lokoja,I called and he said he can't wait that he needed to load that night and head somewhere else,I stood at lokoja helpless,no airtime to call for help,am left with 200 bucks, that can't even take me back to Abuja let alone Lagos,I roam the expressway looking at vehicles and travellers if I could see any familiar face to help,I couldn't see any, later at night when all hope seems lost,I saw some guys stop their 911 Benz truck with wooden back, from their utterance, they are heading to coker in alaba area cos they have tiling materials as goods,I waited for them to eat and have their fill, they seems so happy, I was just pitying myself, no food just half loaf of bread,I went to the one that have a calm face,I explained my plight on how I was stranded and have to go to Lagos, he felt for me and met the driver who shouted and send me away, that am a criminal running away,I showed him my school ID card and personal documents, I kept pleading till one soldier just came from nowhere and asked, where una dey go,they replied him Lagos and he just went and sat at the front sit,you this stupid boy where you dey go,asked the soldier,I quickly ask him na Lagos you dey serve or you dey pass?that question from me made him to come down,so you be barracks boy,I said yes,he asked me so many military terms and I answered him well without thinking twice, driver na our pikin be this I can't leave him here, that's how I joined them straight to Lagos, we arrived the next day morning, along the road the soldier bought nice meals for me and I was damn happy,I stopped at Alaba suru, enter danfo to boundary at ajegunle,my Dad elder sister was a petty trader then, may God bless her soul, she is late now,on reaching her shed, she cried as if I just came back from prison,I was looking tattered and wretched, her co market women have to beg her that am alive,so why bothering herself, I ate enough food at that market, she asked me to go to her house in same ajegunle area,I refused,I told her I prefer to go to my cousin place at okoko area, she gave me almost all her sales for that day bought enough food stuff and I went to my cousins place, those ones saw me,they were laughing at me,it was not funny then, just one week later,I recovered very well, stayed with them for almost a year doing menial jobs, went back to school and eventually level change. |

mine happened in 2009 in Uyo after writing my post utme exam in uniuyo.....I went to a bus park (USA park) to buy my ticket and board a bus down to Lagos....on getting there, I decided to use an ATM close to the park to withdraw money which I'll use to pay for the ticket... when I got to the ATM, I inserted my card and try to withdraw money... immediately I was shown an error telling me that there's a network issue with my bank....I tried another ATM, the same network problem....I felt confused. I then thought to myself that if I ask someone to lend me some money, twill look like ama beggar...I had to trek from Uyo to abak (a journey of 45mins on car). when I nearly got to abak, I saw a friend who also came to write the same exam I came to write, on a bike....on seeing him, I was happy and thought ayaf seen a savior...I stopped him, explain my challenge to him and told him to help me with some money that can convey me back to my village, so as to continue my journey the next day. what I needed was 300.00, naso my guy gimme 30.00.... I was like, guy I need 3h, my guy say na wetin hin fit afford be dat....I fit mad....I just flash my momma, naso she call me....so I explained everything to her... so she directed to my uncle's shop close by....Na my uncle come hepmi....dat day can Neva be forgotten.... |
