I am not talking about you but the op. They are many persons here who earn above what op earns but I can't place op on my expense plan because we do different things. I can make his monthly income in 3 days depending on how hard I work.

I don't see what a 50k earner have to do with Uber and Cinema.

Paying your girlfriend every month isn't bad, I want to adopt same but I need to justify why I should place her on monthly pay.
Your logic is correct in terms of 50k earner not having anything to do with Uber+Cinemas, but I honestly tell you that I know a lot of people in my workplace who earns wayyyy less but doing these things, that I don't even do or do with care. So you cannot tell.

Well, at the end of the day our perspective of things are different, I can't marry & my pregnant wife will be jumping bus. Bro, I rather stay single, its not by force.

On a serious note, how do even you make 50k in 3 days? I'm quite sure I don't do that. I earn in Naira not Dollars. Show your boy way abeg!!!

The average salary in my workplace isn't even upto 100k, so Yes I know. I work for a Startup & the salary difference btw employees is just crazy because there is no proper structure.

But I sure know 50k is trash. So for a person who works in Lekki Phase 2, He/she cannot live close to work because Rent in Phase 2 is around 500k to 2M per year for a Self Contain. Speaking of proximity, He/She has to travel down from Mainland every day OR Rent a house in far Ajah which is still far from workplace. For some other people who work close to their homes, 50k is great because they can save about 35k to 40k if planned well.

I pay my own Rent & Its fucking annoying (This adult life). So I know my bills & can confidently tell you 50k is pure trash, also the fact that I started my earnings small as well but that doesn't stop me from calling what is trash, a trash.

You talk about side hustles, you think everyone can do that? Not every career can support side hustles, its not that easy.
1. So you see, and some of those earning less than 100k are married.
2. A 50k earner has nothing to do with staying in those mentioned places. It's just like in Abuja, even a 250k earner won't be able to rent a place in Wuse or Maitama. Many people live outside the town, kubwa, Lugbe, Nyanya, Gladimawa, Gwarimpa, etc
3.

1. Lol, you are funny. Our wife and kids deserve the best, however we can't kill ourselves or waiting till eternity to start. we will start somewhere and build our world from there so we will have a story to tell. In winning the war, we overcome different layers of challenges. Secondly, when I didn't own a car, I thought (imagined) owing one is a big thing. Truth is, its a liability though it offers you the comfort and mobility you need.

2. Freelancing services, pay is in $$, so a work of about $150 would give you that amount.

3. Nah you be my boss sir. I am the secretary of broke boys association of nairaland. Still loyal to you boss.

I have read your posts and it oozes of the average Nigerian mentality.Start small and HOPE everything will be ok which 85% of the time never happens.Thats why many people in this country are very poor. And dont even start with the our parents did it then line.Your parents didnt give birth to you for you to be more or less the same.We all struggle to give our children the best because they deserve it.They dont deserve the MANAGEMENT system we practice. They deserve good education and life in general and its all dependent on MONEY whether we want to look at it or not.Lets stop suffering children all in the name of Marriage and get our acts together.

Realistically,100k a month does little for a man alone not to talk about a family with a couple of kids. What happened to the good old days of man having a couple of farmlands and barns before getting married??

Get in touch with reality out there then we discuss. It seems like you are not in Nigeria.

How much does MTN pay their entry level workers? 80k. So these people must wait until they start earning 900k/month before thinking of marriage?

Bro, I am a street guy, I am a hustler, I know what is out there. I have been broke several times, and I have had cash many times.

Like I said, I earn what you'd call a good income, I also pay people, however, I know that it's never going to be enough any day. Even with what I earn, I am still broke but I know that if I have little, I will manage, if I have much I will still manage.

Check around you, you'd be surprised that most homes You See around are filled up with people earning less than you think. You can wait all your life because you want to earn 900k/month before getting married.

Be a friend with reality, which I am sure you do. I have read several books on money, I mean several books on money and I am telling you most certainly that your worth is same as your challenges.

The urge to hit 1m/month is what is causing people to go to Europe through the Mediterranean sea by boat or foot.

That's side hustle that pays more than salary. Salary is just to cover up before neighbours would mistake you to be a yahoo boy.

I pay one of my team member about 100k/month, while the other two depends on the task I assign to them.

Lol, Fiverr bro.

You can check the business section of nairaland and you will get further info.

I'm a of dude of about 28 years, I just finished my NYSC program and I secured a job that pays me about 50k, my girlfriend who is about 25 years too just acquired a job that pays her about 60k per month too.

Is it advisable I go for M.Sc. program or just settle down for marriage with my girlfriend and then follow my career later.

We both stay at Ibadan, the city is averagely okay.

What's your take ?
Bro, 50k is too small unless you and your girl plan not to have kids like 3-4 years after marriage meaning you must resist all pressure from family members to start breeding immediately. Because once junior pop out, bye bye to your dreams and aspirations.

I'm sorry, but even a salary of 200k is not a good income, I may sound crazy but this is the truth. Okay lets do the math.

You earn 200k & work in Lagos. Mainland to ISLAND everyday

Transport = 35 to 40k Per month [ Depending on If rain falls or not, Bus Price Inflation ]
Food = 15k to 30k Per month
Siblings [ If you have one/them ] = 20k per month or more
Tithe [ If you are a Pentecostal Christian ] = 20K per month (If you're the 1st Born, your own is finished)
Girlfriend [ That is, If she doesn't Milk you dry like crazy ] = 5k to 25k per month on average for upkeep
Parents [ At least, you can do little things for them ] = 5k to 10k per month
Unplanned bills [ Anything can happen ] = 10k per month

That is Almost running into 100k, Plus which leaves you with 100k balance

So it will take you one year to save a Million. A good PRESENTABLE car in Nigeria starts from 1.5M, so you have to work for 2 years.

I'm excluding if you live alone & left your parents house (Rent + House Bills in Lagos).
I'm excluding Drinks & late nights, Side chic etc

Also not that If your take home salary is 200k, it means your Gross income is like 250 or more, so you're actually earning more than 200k on paper.
Hahaha oga you funny o

Na first born de suffer am pass but for now for naija everybody on his own o even first born. No de send anybody again dat much

200k is good to start bro
