Please o!! I want to ask if it's compulsory that both mother & infant travel on the said date stated on the VOA approval letter? Since it's stated in the letter that "this document expires 14 days from the date of issuance", & I intend taking my ticket further due to unforeseen circumstances? Do I send another application? Thanks in anticipation.

There is a space for signature by patient and accounts advisor at the time of giving that paper. The signatures won't be on it.
Try and get am itemized bill before you leave.

The Federal Government has directed the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), to immediately end the payment of fines by Nigerians holding dual citizenship at the nation’s international airports.

The Minister of Interior, Lt Gen. (Rtd) Abdulrahman Dambazau, made the announcement on Thursday in Abuja.

He said that the directives are in line with President Muhammadu Buhari’s resolve to make movement easy for Nigerians with dual citizenship to come into their father-land unhindered.

According to him, “As a new government policy, on no account should any Nigerian traveller holding dual citizenship pay fine for so-called overstay”.

He said that it was a crime to ask or pay any money in that regard and stressed that under the new policy, “Citizens with dual nationality should only present both travelling documents of their countries of nationality to the immigration officials upon arrival and departure, regardless of whichever they are using to travel”.

Dambazau emphasized that the NIS should ensure immediate compliance with the new government directives as the government would sanction any Immigration official who is found collecting such fines henceforth.

He asked that Nigerians with dual citizenship should report any Immigration official who imposes such charges on them to the appropriate authorities.

Hello house,

Interesting read so far. Please I have a few questions
1, I read some people where denied visa because the medical bills where too low, how low is too ? I intend to deliver with Dr Xydas and at HNMC in Houston and total medical bill for my proposed CS delivery is roughly $7100 is that too low?

2, A friend suggested I get a letter from a more expensive hospital, secure the visa, then use my less expensive option... is that safe? I don't want anything that will jeopardize my chances of renewal in future, I try as much as possible not to lie on my US visa applications.

3, Does anyone have a sample of a detailed letter from the Nigerian doctor stating the fact that the "condition" cannot be treated in Nigeria? I've tried to explain to my antenatal doctor but he seems to think I'm speaking about "fitness to fly"

Thanks to everyone. Congrats to the mamas who have delivered and success to the ones going for interview and flying and waiting to deliver.

Please anyone with useful info please reply, my interview is in 2 weeks.

Hello All,

When renewing via drop box (not pregnant but intending to use visa for birth if baby comes within the validity period of visa) should one select B1 or B2??

Note the previous visa was medical, used for birth 1st year (declared) and vacation 2nd year.

Thanks!

I read on the US embassy website under documents required for a B2 visa that one should provide a letter from a Nigerian doctor stating the condition and treatment option and that such condition cannot be adequately treated in Nigeria.

Hello house. Please I would like to understand fully how itemized bill is supposed to look like. I thought it would be what the hospital sends to you before birth for an uncomplicated delivery. Like hospital bill, pediatrician bill, anesthesia, Dr bill (if the hospital has that inclusive) would it contain my name in the intemize bill. Please anyone with what is looks like and contains kindly assist.

That you read it there doesn't mean you must now go and get a letter for something you are not being treated for. There is no need to mislead, just tell them you want to go give birth, which is the truth. Anything else you are trying to get here is purely an attempt to mislead/deceive.

That's my opinion though.

@Lisaosato Madam i think thats for a person who wants an expedited appointment date for interview. You gotta show proof before they give you an emergency date.

Kind regards!

Nawa o, I asked for answers not the 3rd degree. I had previous fertility treatment in the US and many many issues... I'm not traveling just to give birth, I'm traveling because how this delivery is done may affect chances of conceiving in the future. It is actually a medical reason otherwise I would deliver here and health insurance will take care of all bills.

My apologies if you saw my response as a 3rd degree, I don't judge pple, was only speaking my mind based on my understanding of your statement. If you are having a procedure, then your doctor is permitted by profession to refer you for said procedure anywhere in the world.

Hello everyone,
I have been a silent folloer of this thread. I gave birth in 2016 usa and i used B2 visa when i applied through dropbox. Now my visa expired in august and I submitted for another dropbox. I got the famous 221G and was asked to schedule an appointment for interview. The only available date I can see available is February 2019 which will be past my past edd. Though I chosen one date in Feb, just want to ask if there is anything I can do to FastTrack to get a date in November at most.
Cc Justwise, Firstymum, Ladyg, momo, shrekandfiona, Phema and everyone that has gone through this.
Thanks

[quote author=TripleKMama post=71402775]My country people wehdone oh. All NEW JERSEY PIPO MAKE UNA LISTEN WELL OH...esp if you used St Marys Hosp Passaic NJ. grin
If you go for visa renewal abeg I take God beg you...no bring out that long detailed bill they gave you. It contains breakdown of everything including syringe and medications. Some VOs might request but insist on your receipt and zero balance. Most VOs are not well informed and start asking unnecessary deep questions that may land you into hot Yoruba pepper soup!
The aproko details on that long thing might put you on a long thing as it did me. My visa application was put on hold for some verification. During this time I had some family stuffs and couldn't get back in time with the info. When I did, a few months had passed and I sent by email (meanwhile the US embassy doesn't open anything that contains an attachment).

Thank you for the information.

Select B1/B2.... True and safer. This however isn't an escape route for the famous 221g followup interview ish based especially on your previous birthing whether on a birthing visa or not!

But what is the primary purpose of applying for the visa at this time (just in case you get called in for an interview)? Put all these into proper consideration though.
