And the sad thing is that he is on his own.
A tribalist to the core.
Introducing Yoruba language as a prerequisite like the slowpoke that he is.
Even tinubu did not do that nonsense.

The pdp should steer clear of him.

Give otedola their ticket and let see where the cookie falls.

It is obvious Lagos is Tinubu's property. Lagosians are dummies.

Your independence Day is the day you vote the opposition in Lagos

Rubbish. If actually we're fighting corruption in Nigeria Tinubu should be behind bars.

It seems you just strolled into Lagos recently. Fashola's administration was successful largely because Tinubu had built the template. Before Fashola came on board, Tinubu was building BRT terminals at the time.

It was only normal for Tinubu to reject Fashola's candidate because he felt he could impose it on a party Tinubu toiled hard for.

No right thinking human should say Tinubu isn't in the league of Fashola. As a matter of fact, it is the other way around
.

Well I agree with you except with the bolded part. Tinubu did lay the foundation on which Fashola worked on. And as much as we may hate Tinubu we must give credit where it is due, Tinubu is a visionary and good leader and an excellent politician. But Fashola is an excellent leader and a public administrator par excellence. Bros Fashola public administration skills no be here ooooo. He is best so far I have seen or heard in the history of Nigeria.Public administration wise no Nigerian dead or alive can match him.

Being a man for once will lead him to political golgotha. I'm not crying for him anyway. I have always described him as a bus stop governor.

He does not have what it takes to successfully fight the political establishment that produced him. And after they kick him out, he dare not open his mouth to rat on the financial malfeasance of his godfather, the Jagaban himself. Else, he will rot in EFCC cell till his brain returns to factory settings grin

Why should he not talk. Anyway it will come out sooner than later. After 2019 is secured for Mr. President the gloves are off for sure. He will be packaging a dossier as his last insurance policy to present to Abuja by Tuesday.

Ambode should be given second time ticket, Sanwo should wait for his tenure and if there is shortcomings in Ambode performance they should help him out. Togetherness they can make Lagos the glory of Nation.
Though, am feeling the daily pain of Lagosian but they can correct him

In my OWN opinion, the best GOVERNOR is this AMBODE
Did you know how many were being hit and run over by cars in Berger and Alausa before the construction of the bridges they tried to cross the ever busy road?
Did you even know how Berger in particular looked like during Fashola's regime?
YES, he has some flaws but construction of new roads and bridges that never existed before, etc. I score him very high

The barger pedestal bridge started in Fasholar's 2nd tenure. The construction of Oshodi-Abule egba road is a low quality road and does not meet construction standard. wasted lot of time on it; time wasting means more money for the contractor. Lots and lots of material wastage on that same road.

Honestly, this Ambode is not strong-willed. To deal with Tinubu, you must act like Fashola the former governor. When Fashola told Tinubu that "with or without him" he was going to win the second term, Tinubu knew Fashola was a no-nonsense man. To avoid humiliation later, Tinubu went ahead to endorse him publicly. As if that was not enough, Tinubu never wanted Fashola to be Minister but Fashola still became. Fashola was very dogged and believed this Lagos is not only for Tinubu. But Ambode is too humble and Loyal. They know his "Achilles heel". They are saying what can he do, Mr weakling. For crying out Loud, Ambode, you are still the number one in Lagos, an incumbent at that. Summon up courage and tell Tinubu even if it means by action that "with or without you, I am not stepping down". All the security and mercenaries are still at your disposal. Many people from all the ethnic tribes resident in Lagos still like you. At worst, you move to another party unless they can convince the whole Lagosians what crimes against humanity you have committed.

Keep quiet and stop typing nonsense.Fashola was able to secured second term because he performed well and all the party stalwart and masses supported him, which is contrary to what we have now in Lagos being regarded as one of the dirtiest state with bad roads everywhere .If Ambode had performed well it would have been difficult to stop his second term ambition.

I don't understand this much ado about nothing!

I mean it's not as if Tinubu performed half of Ambode's achievements when he was the governor undecided

The jazz Tinubu is using on these people must be strong!

Ambode was working though he has some loose ends to tie so what is ALL these drama about

Mtcheeew
Tinubu is the leader
He is the contractor
He is the commissioner
He PRO
He is the tax collector
He is everything!

How will Ambode even perform when he is not in charge undecided

Ambode's biggest mistake is not borrowing a leaf from Fashola

He allowed Tinubu to dictates for him undecided
Then he was known as Tinubu's boy!

He (Ambode) still couldn't please him neither did he please Lagosians

If the people of Lagos are still willing to give him a chance, why can't Tinubu do the same
Do you live in Lagos ? The reason they can do this is Ambode is not as popular among the voters as some might think. If he was as popular as Fashola in 2011 APC wouldn't have tried this .

I don't like Tinubu after his alliance with Buhari but to be fair Ambode messed up. The Chaplain and order for the destruction of a new transport terminal were 2 accounts I know of.

After killing opposition.. This is what you see where there are no opposition.. Ambode can do nothing because there is no opposition in Lagos...

This will get interesting... The other guy may win... But opposition will be much more in Lagos now... Pdp will surely have some seats in the state house.. And certainly some local governments

Then there will no more be jagabanism in Lagos...

Only if ambode knew... The opposition you suffocate today may be your succor tomorrow...

Well said. Lagos is now a full blown feudal state, even more overbearing than a monarchy. And when the king eventually passes on, the wars for sucession willl be better imagined. By then other competing democratic states will have long progressed beyong them. May we live in interesting times.

Please, please, please, don't ever make the mistake of trying to sound like Fashola only built on Tinubu's works. Fashola is in a league of his own. No one comes close.

LOL!!! You spoke my mind here I have commented before seen your comment. Let us be sincere Fashola did work on Tinubu's template and that is how it should. Why reinvent the wheel if you can make it better? But na true you talk ooooo. Nobody come close to Fashola public administration skills oooòoooo. Let's forget the projects he did and all that. There is something so unique about is public administration style and skills.A governor that comes out to stop a senior military officer.SMH.

There is fear of not getting caught then for whatever you want to do like crossing the express when there is pedestrian bridge, biking on the express and so many others. I was surprised when I asked a police officer to compare Ambode and Fashola. His words, "why you go dey compare them two na. Fashola na excellent na."I was shocked to hear somebody could share my opinion concerning Fash. Fash remains the only person right now as I dont know what tomorrow hold that can take me to the polling boot. Any other person I go dey my house dey sleep ooooo.

"...those who matter...' blah, blah, blah. You're the ones that matters, others don't? Arrogaing titles to themselves, not acknowledging that is God's decisions.

For the info of all the PSP contractors here like you, AlhajaChinyere and deomelo, 95% of those who have an independent mind and simply refuse to buy your cock and bull story here actually live in Lagos and speak as neutrals - unlike your gang that have political and financial interests.

The truth of the whole hullabaloo is not "performance." It's just trying to give a dog a bad name so as to hang it. It's all a smokescreen to distract from the real issues. The neutrals can see all Ambode works - impressive, evenly spread and 10 times better than cocky Fashola, who was harassing people with Lastma, VIO and KAI; concentrating development in his Surulere-Lekki-Ikoyi axis - even planting flowers. And he had subtle dislike for non-Yorubas.

Ambode's LNSC and the likes don't harras people. They're professionals just like Visionscape that doesn't charge anyone a Kobo. Today, drop your trash in the allocated place and by morning they've cleared the whole place.

Ambode's sins was that he sidelined powerful political interests in the state, who were earning millions monthly from the state's purse. He wanted to be focused and professional through and through. He didn't know PSP contractors were not actually private entrepreneurs. They were political contractors at the grassroots who were compensated with monthly honey pot by Fashola through the PSP-Lawma arrangement. Why do you think they're always mentioning trash, trash, trash. Suddenly, trash has become a defining standard to measure a governor's performance. Since when?

Sadly and typical of SW politics, everyone (including HOAs - imagine!) has been whipped into line. Normally, the average civil flows with the 'popular' opinion of their HOD (who always have political and financial interests and are loyal to the state's godfather). So, don't count on the view of a LASG civil servant too much - except a few independent-minded ones.

The other citizens are being forced to suddenly see Sanwo-Olu as the best candidate. Someone they didn't know before. They're also trying to hang a tag of 'Ipob' on Ambode, to try to discredit him.

It's a messed up situation. No one likes the naked truth and they attack those of us saying it.

So many ridiculous falsehoods here, I don't even know where to start from. Fashola concentrated development and yet, it's Ambode that has not concentrated development, abi? Ask anybody that lives in any communities along the Amuwo-Odofin/Ojo/Badagry axis from Mile 2 down to Badagry if they knew a Lagos state government existed over Ambode' entire tenure. Particularly Fashola's projects that he abandoned to chase his own vanities commissioning bus stops everywhere around Lagos and a few flyovers. On some days, you'd be lucky to make it in 6 hours to Mile 2 from Agbara: a journey that shouldn't take up to an hour. We're talking only about the expressways, and let's not even start on the inner roads in the communities owned by the state.

Ambode's privatizations had nothing to do with efficiency and everything to do with venality and corruption. He has run a far more opaque government than Fashola before him and you can't even scrutinize the state's finances and his administration brazenly dismiss FOI requests. He sidelined powerful political interests in the state to empower a new set of powerful political interests beholden to him. Trying to claim he did this with altruistic intent is laughable when he continues to run an administration with zero accountability or transparency.

It's funny you're playing the "Ipob" card now with Ambode. The reality is Ambode has been held in suspicion by many Igbos in Lagos, but these Igbos dislike Tinubu even more, so suddenly, when Ambode falls out with Tinubu, they immediately hitch their wagons to Ambode and become big supporters. It's the same, old trick: embracing any Yoruba opposed to the Tinubu political machine (Fani Kayode, Fayose, Saraki, Adeleke etc) and pretending it has anything to do with substantive politics.

For the record, Tinubu is a cancer on Lagos politics, in my opinion. Just don't come here trying to whitewash Ambode's record as if we don't have eyes.

"We have had also groups within the party, we have had the Ndigbos who are party members; we have had market men and women who are party members and of course the biggest endorsement any one can ever get can only come from Community Development Committee (CDCs) and Community Development Associations (CDAs) because everyone of us is a member of one CDA or the other and if all the 3900 CDAs in Lagos State have openly endorsed His Excellency and their representative still came here yesterday to affirm that same endorsement and if you look at this as translating to acceptance, those who are claimed to have endorsed the others, we are supposed to do direct primary if we are going to do that anyway and in direct primary, every vote must count; and at the stakeholders meeting today, 85 per cent of the people in that assembly are actually supporters of Mr Akinwunmi Ambode.”

‘Show of Sportsmanship’

Also, yesterday, the Director General of Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu Campaign Organisation (BOSCO), Mr. Tayo Ayinde, described the decision of Hamzat to step down for his principal as a show of sportsmanship.

Ayinde made the remarks in a statement by BOSCO’s Director of Publicity, Sesan Daini.
