Buhari is the problem of Ambode and not Tinubu. Ambode was caught up on a high wired politics and now it's threatening his political fortune. Buhari Fell out with Tinubu and all other political office holders including Gov. Ambode align with the national leadership under Odigie Oyegun As state party structures were handed to them. The South West APC Govs thought things will remain status quo until the LIFELESS one ate his vomit and went back to him surrending the national structure to him without negotiating for politicians like Gov. Most you started noticing Lagos during Fashola's era but the dirty work was mostly in 2004 when Obasanjo denied Lagos its allocations for 14 months and Tinubu was able to pilot Lagos through those periods. Most importantly, study the below timelines and see how and when Fashola came into the picture: 1. The bill setting up the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) was signed into law on 13 January 2002 by the then Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (1999 – 2007). The law empowered LAMATA with the responsibility of reforming the transport system in Lagos. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lagos_Metropolitan_Area_Transport_Authority 2. The first phase of the Lagos BRT was opened on 17 March 2008, although it was initially slated for opening in November 2007 (the initiative to build the system was initiated by the government of the previous governor, Bola Tinubu. Bulk of Fashola's achievement centered around the BRT. Before he came on board, Lagos was working on a self sustenance system due to the withheld allocations of Lagos by the Obasanjo-led administration, all thanks to Tinubu. As it stands today, it is quite easy to be the governor of Lagos State and excel because the template from Tinubu's era is what Fashola worked with. We all know how Lagos is now after Ambode rubbished certain systems out in place by Tinubu. You might be born yesterday but it doesn't mean you must rubbish the legacies of Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Lagos. Same that led to GEJ downfall is what's happening to Ambode. You don't fight the powers that made you and start listening to advice from people who can't even win a ward election. That apart, the current status of Lagos despite the enormous resources at his disposal leaves much to be desired. Plain and simple Ambode is anti masses, destroyed PSP, increased survey charges from 70,000 to 350,000, tried to jack up vehicle registration to 10,000, added radio license fee to vehicle registration, increased taxes on market and tried jacked up land use charge by almost 500 percent if not the intervention of the Ikeja NBA branch who fought him to a standstill. Don't want to about all substandard rehabilitated roads and the indiscriminate and haphazard construction going on with the attendant destruction on the existing road all in view of creating BRT median in the middle of road. Yes he has tried in Epe but that's just only local government out of 19. Let him go and relax, second term is not a right, it is earned and the fact is that his party members don't feel he has earned it how much more we Lagosians that bear the brunt of his maladministration. 11 Likes 1 Share |

His best bet would have been to tactically withdraw, negotiate a ministerial slot, remain in the political mainstream, and bounce back later. Afterall, age is on his side. But the minions in his cabinet are egging him on, and in the process, they will squeeze out a few more billions for themselves, in the pretext of prosecuting the futile fight. Honestly, this Ambode is not strong-willed. To deal with Tinubu, you must act like Fashola the former governor. When Fashola told Tinubu that "with or without him" he was going to win the second term, Tinubu knew Fashola was a no-nonsense man. To avoid humiliation later, Tinubu went ahead to endorse him publicly. As if that was not enough, Tinubu never wanted Fashola to be Minister but Fashola still became. Fashola was very dogged and believed this Lagos is not only for Tinubu. But Ambode is too humble and Loyal. They know his "Achilles heel". They are saying what can he do, Mr weakling. For crying out Loud, Ambode, you are still the number one in Lagos, an incumbent at that. Summon up courage and tell Tinubu even if it means by action that "with or without you, I am not stepping down". All the security and mercenaries are still at your disposal. Many people from all the ethnic tribes resident in Lagos still like you. At worst, you move to another party unless they can convince the whole Lagosians what crimes against humanity you have committed. 3 Likes |

Wiseandtrue: I acknowledged that Tinubu being a greedy god father is one of the problems confronting Lagos but did his palpable attitude create a stumbling block for Fashola 2nd term? Yes, almost but the support of internal and external supporters caged Tinubu to negate his re-election. My annoyance with Ambode is his abysmal performance. D grassroots low level party members were given licence to operate psp lawma (ambode cancelled and gave it to visionscape), brt was a partnership with mid level party members, technocrats who were politically aware(ambode cancelled also and made blue brt the only stand alone), then the party members that are foot soldiers were either employed as street sweepers and other menial jobs, or given administrative duty( that one also he privatised). Do not misconstrue my submissions here to mean I am in support of the imposition or trying to bully him into submitting wholly to their whims to the detriment of the general populace of Lagos. No... A gentleman on here did a bit on how Ambode couldn't be a 100% innocent in all of this yesterday which I read, digested and couldn't agree any less with him. The honest truth is this... If Ambode was truly a consummate politician, who played it accordingly and never was locked up to all an sundry as he is widely accused to have done, trust me bro, he'd be having the numbers most especially being an incumbent to humble and demystify Tinubu as it is right now. He wouldn't need to be running from pillar to post as he is presently doing. Politics is politics, a game of numbers, allies, blocks and follower ship it is. You can't play it all by yourself you'd be muddied up and beaten by those you've ignored for the period your initial term lasted. Payback time I see this as...
