This thread really makes me sad to the point I feel my eyes watering. Anyone trying to defend Nigeria by saying ‘it isn’t so bad’ is only lying to themself, a country where you can’t boast of complete 5 hours power supply in a day, what am I even saying? Some placed haven’t seen power in months, a country where people die for lack of police report for proper medical attention, a country where it’s leaders travel to other countries for medical care, a country where you have no emergency response unit for whatever, a country where you get laughed at for being duped or stolen from, heck! You get blamed and called a mugu for being a victim of a corrupt system, I feel very sad honestly especially today, and someone will telll me happy independence? May that independence kee you there, nonsense!

damn, let not brag, out of all, common benin republic here, the police are well behaved, no guns, whistle instead and the citizens are well behaved, when police blow whistle , the driver will park and get ready to be arrested, police coming to arrest just one person at seconji and every body locked their shops and ran away, they were afraid and respect their police, even the woman selling food to us wanted to pack and Nigerians were busy saying, where you dey go? sell food for me jor, every body ran, except Nigerians, the police met us eating, na me slapped person way go call police, wetin concern me ? why I go run? put fried turkey for me jor.

As a Nigerian who has lived in Europe since childhood, this comment here best describes how I feel about europe .

I'm so homesick and in the process of returning back home.

My only desire is to see a Nigeria that looks like Europe, we should never glorify other people's countries whilst we allow ours to rot away .

Currently live in Finland, as usual, the basics of life are readily affordable to everyone, both the boredom and the antisocial lifestyle can drive one crazy here...Imagine me straight up from Festac to this cold and unfriendly country, but na Naija wahala make us run...Visited Norway last year, just a little upgrade on Finland...On transit via Istanbul and Doha....Should be in Vienna soon...Naija is bleeped up anyway, run with all your might from there

Living in Vancouver, BC, on my toilet as I type this. Life expensive, u work for everything u have.

Ur levels depends on how hard u work and if ur educated.

I work as a software engineer, lost my job in may but by God's grace found a job and starting tomorrow. I make good money but it's not enough to ever buy a home here.

I live alone in a pretty nice apartment in a decent part of town, I can afford anything that I want beyond real estate.

I contribute to my girls school fees so she can graduate and get a decent paying job. Maybe then I'll get married.

I also help some friends and siblings back in nigeria when ever I can.

I really should goto church more because God has always been faithful through out my time here.

There are no handouts here, alot of Africans come here and lose their way to cheap jobs and hustles.

Some work hard, stay in school, graduate, apply themselves in their careers stay and flourish.

Some come and flex and have a good time but they never last long. Sooner or later they are forced out because of immigration.

Others fall into unfortunate circumstances and are forced to leave.

There are others that get their papers but given they never graduated, they can never get good paying jobs

Moving bk to Nigeria as soon I become a citizen next year.

The idea is to land a position at Microsoft, IBM, Google or any of the big boys and transfer to Nigeria.

Hopefully somebody reads this and learns. My only regret is not graduating from school sooner. I was fortunate to finish secobdary school and come here at 16
