Asari Dokubo has paid his dues. When some of his fellow Ijaws stood by and watched the Northerners take over 80% of their Oil wealth, Dokubo led others to the creek where they took up arms. The result was that they got 13% derivation and billions in amnesty programmes. How many of you insulting Dokubo can do what he did? Dokubo realises that it is in the interest of the Ijaw nation to join the Biafran agitation because they will only be exploited in Nigeria. For every barrel of palm oil produced (above the ground of course) the producer keeps 100% of the proceeds except for taxes paid. 1 barrel of palm oil in the international market is about $90 We have in the Niger delta, fought for years to get derivation up to 13% However, we have 100% derivation (so to speak) on any (and every) other thing we produce outside of oil. The question is... what have we chosen to produce? This goes for all the states in the South East and the Middle belt, and indeed, everywhere in Nigeria.
