Hello Guys, Please I need your help....

So My Family and I are about to apply for Uk visa to go for my older sister's wedding in London. My parents and Older sister(The bride) are the sponsors, while me and my younger brother are dependents. My younger brother is still in secondary school so I think he is pretty much covered, As For me; I am a 24 years old and am a corper but am rounding up next week, I am also working but my income is not large enough to sponsor myself. Do you guys think I should apply as a corper considering the fact am rounding up soon and they might say I have no reason for me to return since I will have nothing to return to? OR should I apply as someone with a Job, the only issue I have with that is I do not earn enough and so my account statement is not great, so I do not want to show my account statement. I can only provide payslip. Another reason I am hesitant is I dont know if there will be an issue of a gainfully employed individual applying as a dependent.

Thank you in anticipation

Hello justwise, ekpotec and the Otha gurus in the house.
I want to apply for my daughter and I to visit the UK for Xmas vacation and also a friend has invited my daughter and I for his daughter's birthday party coming up same December.

He is not sponsoring us, i am sponsoring the whole trip and also booking a hotel. He's only sending an invite for the birthday.

My question is, since he won't be sponsoring anything at all, what document is he to send to us to take to d embassy?
We are spending just 7days.
I'll await your responses. Thank you .

1. Not true. You don't need to notarise a sponsorship letter.

2. Reprint on coloured A4 paper.

An invitation for a birthday party carries no weight at all. You're better off doing without it and applying for a holiday for tourism purposes on your own since you're ready and able to sponsor yourself.

Given that the UK's visa policy is expressly based on applicants being considered to be potential immigrants until otherwise demonstrated, you know that as a 24 year old in your circumstances lacking most of the generally required ties to home you have a huge burden of proof to provide to show that you have sufficient reason to return home.

Again, they don't consider 24 year olds to fall within the age bracket of dependents who can be sponsored for tourism/holiday purposes, so before you make any application consider if your own circumstances and not those of your parents would be sufficient for you to get a visa.

The ECO simply does not trust your sources of income and finances as presented. I would suggest that you chilled for sometime. Straighten your finances. If you are self employed, you do not need to pay yourself a salary when your runing a one-man business. The ECO can easily see through this deceit.

Hello FrontPageLawyer Justwise Jarus ekpotek and all members, i need your candid advise please.

I plan to apply for a standard visitor visa (6 months), and confused on how to correctly represent my application giving my scenario:

1. I have a 1.5m savings and a separate running salary account with about 250k monthly.

2. Spent about 4 years in the UK on Student visa over 8 years ago.. not sure that counts anymore.

3. can get a Invitation letter, please whats the best type (i.e. relation btw invitee and myself)

4. My company employed me to service a client permanently. Both coys are willing to give me an introductory letter stating i am an employee going on leave to return in a week. My thinking is its better to use one. The client company is Global however my salary description is from my employer- hence my dilemma.

Thanks for your contributions.

1. If the saving can be traced as inflow from your salary account - Good
2. Will count as you return back as expected
3. Depends on your intention. Are you visiting someone and plans to stay with them? If not, you do not need any invite.
4. Explain this in your cover letter and pray that the ECO can understand it. Me I dont understand how can your company employ you when you owned it.

Dear house,
This is my first time writing on nairaland. But I have a question to ask the gurus in the house. I am a lecturer and I had applied for a visit visa twice in 2015 and got denied. This August I reapplied for a business visa for a convention I was chosen to attend. I was refused and The reasons they gave was really disappointing, they even accused me of taken a loan that will expire Feburary this year whereas I put in a fixed deposit certificate that will be retired August. They said I did not include ties to my country, whereas I put in a landed document to show that I have a land even though Co owned with my fiance here in Nigeria. It was like they used another person's document to evaluate mine. I wrote to them pointing out these errors and they denied it stating that I do not have rights to an administrative review. I reported back to the alumni president and he contacted the m.p whom he gave the names of the representatives who were chosen for the convention. They gave him an assurance of a review as they wrote to the home office on that. How possible is it for a positive review. As right now, I am very angry and disappointed in them. Note since 2015 I have travelled to over two European countries on studies and workshops, Israel and even have a valid norweign Schengen visa for a conference I was meant to attend this month. Please I need a reply. Has anyone been through this?

Noone can tell. If you think that the refusal was unjustified. The best thing to do is to reapply immediately and add your recent communication with alumni president and the MP.

Hello all,

I am applying for a standard visitor visa (6 months)

I have just £800 (budg 3k) im my a/c but my dad will be sponsoring my visit so I'll be using his statement.

He did not have up to 1 million in his personal a/c but broke his fixed deposit of 5 million and had the money sent to his a/c.

1. Will this be seen as lodgement?
2. Does he have to write a cover letter explaining this or should a fixed deposit certificate be added as supporting document?
3. Am I to make a copy of all pages of the previous passport with visas or just the visa stamps?
4. Also, I want to use priority service. Are there any downsides to this?

Thanks in advance for your comments

(Background: I previously applied for 6mths (not nigeria) and was given. I was in the UK early this year (7 days). Also I have a good travel history. I am a foreign stdt - not working)

PLEASE, I NEED YOUR URGENT RESPONSE

1. Yes
2. Yes and Yes
3. Make copies of all pages of the passport you are submitting both current and expired
4. None, expect UKVI may not keep to their stated timeline.
Your previous visa and UK travel history will count unless you are careless about your application.

There are many people on this forum applying for UK visa to write PLAB examination. Read back and your will find what they did. Some got the visa, others did not. The most important thing convincing the ECO that you will leave the UK after your visit.

At 24 and working you cannot claimed to be a dependent. So you will need to submit your own account and payslips even though your parent will sponsor the trip. This demonstrates your ties to Nigeria and your application will be assessed base you own circumstances and not your parents.

You need to get the data page of his passport as an evidence of his status in the U.K.

Why not try another western country since you have soiled your profile with British embassy? If you are successful then come back to the UK embassy again with your travel history.

@ekpotek, @justwise. My daughters got their first 6 month UK visas early August 2018. We were meant to travel in September as a family but duty calls at my place of work and we couldn't make the trip as earlier planned. Now am planning we travel for Christmas this year, I hope there won't be any issue with my daughters at the airport here in ikeja and at the transit port as to why they have not use their visas since August. I have been to the uk thrice and still have a valid visa. Thanks for your response
