MARY TURN AWAY HER FACE when he caught glance of Jacob staring at her... She adjusted herself on the seat chair as Jacob drove into the police station.....
Manny was right in describing Jacob, she was dangerously handsome... He has the looks that could drive any woman crazy.. A perfect playboy..
She scoffs when they exchanged glance, she can't believe she was here sitting alone in a car with hum.. His car.
"I thought you didn't have a car? She ask waving away all the unimaginable thought...
Jacob chulkled, he march the brakes and quickly stop the engine.... "I dont"
"Then who owns this? Mary ask curiously
"It belongs to my friend. "He said facing her...... "When you called, you sound agitated, i knew you were in a hurry to come here so i had to borrow this.....
"I wasn't really in a hurry"Mary cut in..
Jacob widen his eyes at her...
"Okay fine, i admit i sounded that way but...... You of people should understand.... "

"Sir we actually came here to report a missing person but the officer here isn't interested in listening to our complaint, instead he started asking us unnecessary questions.. "
The turn to the police officer... "Apollo, is that true?
The policeman quiver.... "Sir i just wanted to know a full detail about the missing person.... "
The man shook his head, then he shift his gaze to Jacob.... "Follow me, lets talk in my office... "
Jacob glance at Mary who nodded
Without further ado they followed the man to his office...
Jacob scan his eyes around as they entered the man's office.. He immediately find out the man must be the DPO, he have his picture hung on the wall, he was elegantly dressed in his uniform... Followed by the president's picture and governor...
The DPO.. Mr Alfred motioned for them to see down...
They both did as he has said...
"So how long have the person gone missing...? Mr Alfred ask
"Today makes it three days.. "Mary replied
"Have you tried contacting her... Texting her..?
"I wouldn't be here sir if i havent done all that, she isn't replying to any of that.... "Maru said
"How are you related to this person?
"She is my friend... "Mary replied shapily...
The DPO exhales.... "Have she gone out without informing anyone of her whereabouts before...?
"No she haven't....
Mr Alfred took a deep breathe, he knew for a fact he wont really be concerned with the case, it was a girl who was missing.. She must have probably gone out with a man.... "Do you have a picture of her?
Mary nodded... She brought her phone out and search for Manny picture, it wasn't long before she found one, she quickly show it to the DPO
Shock swept through the DPO as he saw the picture.. It was her, it was certainly her.. She was the slut that was introduced to him by his friend... The one who left before he woke up in the morning... He huffs not letting them see his shocked expression... And gave the phone back to her....
"What makes you think she is missing....? He ask
Mary sigh, she wonder why everyone kept asking that question... "She is my friend sir...."She gritted thinking of a suitable way to explain why she thinks her friend is missing or probably why she thinks something has happened to her...."I know her very well sir, its very unlike her to go out for three days without informing any of us, moreover i have been calling her severely, she isn't taking any of my cals, nor is she returning them...
"Have you ever thought she mighy want to be alone for the time being....? Mr Alfred ask, he was damn sure she has gone out with a man and she needs no disturbance to interfere with her job...
"That's very unlike my friend sir"mary replied shapily......
"Even if she wants to be alone, that shouldn't be enough reason for her not to pick my calls, something must have happened, am very sure of that sir... "Mary added with confidence
Mr Alfred sigh, he wasnt sure if he was going to organize a search party for a girl like that, for all he knows, she could be somewhere having sex with a man that instant and her friend is here worrying about her... That girl is a slut.. She will definitely go back home when she is done with whatever man she is with..... "If that is so, we will dl our best to find her.... "

WITH SMILES ON HER FACE, mary stood and waitef patiently until Jacob drove out of sight, she swallowed hard and exhales shapily when she couldn't find the trace of the car again.....she quickly brought out the gate key and open the gate, for a moment she just stood there staring at the gate wondering if Manny has passed through it,if Manny was already home....
Slowly the smiles faded from her face... Three days and there is no sign or news of her.....
She quickly wipe away the tear that was clung ho her eyelid....... She walk in and close the gate.. Sharon wasnt home yet, that explains why the gate was still locked outside...
She drag het feet as she walk to the threshold of the house, she stood at the balcony wondering where Manny could have gone to.. Where she might be......
When she find no answer to the questions,she went into the house, it was just as she has left it.. The well arranged pillows on the chair and the glass of juice she couldn't finish..
She threw herself on the chair, pick up one of the pillows and clung it to herself ,she glance at the time.. It was almost evening and Sharon hasn't return...
She cling to one side of the chair and prays the pray the police help her find Manny..
"Oh God, please keep Manny safe"..she muttered to herself..

Sharon exhales at the morning cold that prick her skin...her muscles cramp as she glance at the time.... It was 6:32am yet he hasn't come out, she wonder if Pope had lied to her when he told her he was going to go out early this morning for an urgent business....

She shift aback as the gates began to open,seconds later she caught sight of his car slowly coming outside...
She knew for a fact this is the right time to find out where Manny is.... ''
When she was sure he didn't see her,she slowly enter the taxi of the man she has paid to wait....

The taxi man who was half asleep quickly startrd the engine and began to tail the car...
Pope car was on high speed but Sharon never let the driver to lost sight of him, she wonder if Pope knew the taxi was following him.. She hopes for her sake and Manny's, such ideas never cross his mind..
Sharon watch as Pope reverse into a lonely road, this time he wasn't on high speed anymore but was moving slow and steady, the buildings on the street can be counted, she wonder the kind of people that were living in such a deserted area..
Shock swept through her as Pope's car stopped in front of a fence compound...
She quickly signalled the taxi driver to move pass Pope's car, she didn't want to arouse any suspicion...
She watched through the side mirror as Pope came out from the car and went into the compound...
Sje signal the taxi driver to stop the car when she was a bit distant from Pope's car... She quickly came out from the taxi...
"Madam,you nor go pay me? The taxi driver ask
She scoffs then deep her hand on the side pocket of her jean trouser and gave the taxi man a thousand naira...
She look around the area the only dominant thing in the area were bushes.. It was as quiet as a graveyard.. She glance at the house Pope has entered earlier, Manny could be there.. The house was probably a good place to hide someone or probably kill.....
She look ahead, there was no house closer to the one Pope has entered.. Fear engulfed her as the thought of kill creep into her head.. What a lonely and deserted area to die.. What if she is marching into her dead.. The area was a good place to kill and bury someone and no one will find out...
She shudder as she listen to her inner voice telling her to retreat when she still has the chance... Manny wasn't worth risking her life... But if Manny dies,it will her fault,her jealousy of her drag her to make a deal with Pope... Manny's enemy...
She took a deep breathe when the engine of the taxi interrupted her thoughts..
"Hey listen, please i beg you to wait for me for fifteen minutes.. "She said to the taxi man..
"Fifteen minutes...? The taxi man ask
Sharon nodded"If am not back before then, call the police.... "
"Madam, you go pay extra charges o"The taxi man said
Sharon nodded... "Thank you... "she said, look around again then she made the dreaded move....
Slowly with pounding heart, she begin to walk towards the house....
She stood for a moment when she got to the gate....
What if Manny isn't there, what if Pope has nothing to do with her disappearance... But what if she is right. If Manny is here, this could be the only chance she might have to save her....
She knew for a fact this was a dangerous place and her chance to live or die totally lies on the decision she will make now...
