Yes, most Igbos will never dream of voting for Buhari even with a gun to their forehead, but there are other parties and also an option of boycotting the elections if PDP betrays us and that would be a disaster for Atiku and PDP.

Saraki is Fulani from north central. He only bears a Yoruba first name. Or would you call Rotimi Amaechi a Yoruba man too? Or Ebele Jonathan an Igbo man?

Eitherway, PDP will still lose the election!

Atiku would not make the mistake of picking his VP from the East. He hopes the Votes of the West will tip him over the bar.
WHY?
- SEast has small voting population compared to the West

- He knows the East does not really like the North that much and wont risk the wrath of the SWest

Even if he picks his VP from the SWest, can that person be more "intelligent" than Osinbajo?
The West will stil not vote for Atiku. he is a wanted criminal and the West dont tolerate such scumbags.

Will that mean they would vote for Buhari?
Thats a 50-50 because he is stuck with osinbajo.
A lot of S/Westerners will not vote for Buhari due to his Nepotism, support for the terrorist herdsmen and his fulanisation Agenda.
Ofcourse, the East too will not vote for him anyway.
You people said this same thing during PDP chairmanship election. Always empty

Lol! This is funny. So NOW u believe dt Saraki is Yoruba. I've been telling u igbos this since, but one was arguing wt me abt his great grandfathers house in futa jalon. You iPob guys are actually not worth arguing with. You change opinion like the wind.

Anyways throughout dt whole senate brouhaha, the only reason tinubu supported Ndume was because he didn't want another yoruba man to be no3, in fairness to the party. But u guys always pick the wrong side of a fight. Doesn't even make sense why igbos would support atiku for another 8yrs, when they could get presidency in 4yrs after Buhari. Boggles the mind really
So let's assume bubu gets 2019, are you saying Igbos could get on the saddle in 2023? As in APC will field an Igbo candidate?

So if you are PDP what will you do? Won't you field a candidate from the North?

You are very funny. grin

South west has the second Largest voting population. There’s hardly a thing to be done by that.

You people scream marginalisation yet when you had the opportunity to pick the presidential ticket in PDP, you zoned it to the North.

If you truly wanted to be represented you would have given unstinting support to your indigenous party, APGA, or demanded from the PDP, a flag bearer from your own region. But no! Bitterness drives your choices. You would rather camp with the opponent of your enemy than advance your own cause.

Ngige’s case is a similar example. He had a clear chance of being the Senate President but you didn’t vote for one of your best former governors just because you hate someone in his party.

Your politics of hatred and bitterness is unrivalled. Kudos.

Jokers. grin

ACN was a neutral party, APC with Buhari is anti=Igbo, and will not win any position in the East, as far as Buhari is the President, it may change later, but not with Buhari.

Please remember 2015, how many Easterners voted Buhari? Not even Ojukwu will make us love Buhari.

I don't know how SOUTH west region that has gained the most under PDP's platform would claim they didn't benefit anything from PDP... that is height of greed.

SOUTH west had presidency under PDP more than any region for complete eight years, even when they didn't vote for PDP, instead chosing to vote AD.

Your plan will not work, you can eat your cake and have it.

Actually it is the yorubas who want to eat their cake and have it. They kicked out PDP from their region and are asking for a SW VP slot. It wil never work that way.

If PDP insults the East by picking a vice from the SW, they have already failed before starting. Sowore and his sahara reporters can continue to try to cajole and deceive PDP into sidelining the East so that their APC can have easy ride.
If PDP falls into that trap that yorubas who are largely anti-PDP is setting for them, then it is over.
yorubas will never give pdp block votes even if Jesus christ were from yorubaland and is picked as VP. yoruba muslims who are led by muric will vote their APC party, then yoruba christians will still split votes.

If Atiku picks a SW VP and insults the East, he will be dropped like hot coal by Easterners. The East kept PDP afloat when yorubas were doing everything to kill it. SW cannot reap where they did not sow.

Atiku is picking an Eastern vice. Shikena.

There will be protest votes from the SW.

Atiku must know what to do, and it appears they are already onto it; high powered politicking.

ijustdey:
“So, what they are looking at are the sentiments that the vice presidential candidate can drive for the joint ticket. To a large extent, they are looking at South-East, of course; and I can confirm to you that the South-East has a strong case.

But the major consideration delaying the announcement is that a lot of stakeholders feel that the position should go to South-West. And they’ve been giving lots of reasons for that," said the source.

The analysis the guy gave is correct. APC got 700,000+ while PDP got 600,000+ in 2015. That shows that there are many people from other zones that live in SW especially Lagos. SE VP will give Atiku bulk votes of SE/SS.
So what was i saying. You people on nairaland are too dence. So it is the other ethnic that are living in the west that pulled out that number of votes, all yorubas voted for APC, it is igbo and other ethnic that will now come n pull out such figure. I guess the people that voted Pdp in ondo, ekiti and osun elections were igbos and other ethnic group too. So many educated illiterate among you.

Whatever the case is SS & SE will always vote PDP SW&NC are swing zones that need landslide victory to win the election. NC candidate would have been the perfect VP candidate but a sole N ticket won't fly the next best thing is to get a SW VP that can swing atleast 60% votes and hope that NC will give similar result.

Your assumption that PDP can get 50% votes from SW might be a little bogus, all SW states are controlled by APC an addition of federal and state might plus lots of cash the chances are slim.

Please sentiment should be put aside here, yes south East has a case but the VP slot should be given to S/W for the first tenure, then the case can change for second term..You know APC is not a marketable product in S/S and to some extent S/E ,so the vote is somehow secured there..

Most people commenting here are only reaoing based on sentiments. If truly we want to reposition the country for a better tomorrow, where the VP comes should not matter here.. What i can deduce from the south-easterners is that they are more concerned about 2023 presidency and not effort at removing APC from power. Imagine them threatening notto support Atiku if VP is not given to them. I understand their plight but if VP is eventua'ly ceded to south-west, they should still support Atiku for better Nigeria. Note that most people in sojthwest are tired of APC govt and will definitely vote for Atiku presidency.

If Atiku is smart he will pick his VP from the East.
The West has always gone against PDP since 1999 except their leaders push them and now all their leaders and governors are APC.

If he doesn't pick fromm the East, there will be massive voters apathy and unwillingness to vote from that zone.

He should just pick his VP from East and campaign more in the North East and North Central with some support from the NW and SW and he's good to go.

You don't get it, do you? The east has pledged allegiance to PDP and that's where it missed it. Parties should fight to have your region, not you fighting to have parties. Now, everyone on God's green planet knows the worst Igbos can do is boycott the election. Politically, the Igbos have it but analytically, it isn't a wise choice. The SS or SW are reasonable to obtain maximum votes. The Igbos talk to much and are very predictable. Surprise these parties once and see how you'd become the centre of attention rather than pledge allegiance and get taken for granted.

Even if SE wins the VP slot, it has much more to lose as PDP would try to buy a liberal SW over as soon as they get to power and eventually neglect SE. Johnathan did that to the North but still lost everything. That's the nature of man and not politics alone.

Doesn't matter, depending on if the North wants the presidency to go round and there is nothing tinubu can do.

Just like there is no pdp Yoruba leader of note and yet some people want to give the sw the VP for their own reasons.

Besides, okorocha, ngige and orji uzor kalu are not small men.
They have a lot of northern friends, they have a lot of money, and the south east is yet to get the presidency.
All those factors could see the apc presidencial candidate coming to the east.

Everybody I have spoken to is of the opinion that Atiku should get a VP from SE, and everyone I have spoken to is from the SW. The deciding region in this election will be the North Central. South West is APC, they should get Osibanjo, South East is PDP, they should get the VP slot

During the last election, ibos felt reluctant to vote for Jonathan coz they felt he didn't do anything for the eastern region , and also couldn't vote against him in favor of the dullard. So most people didn't turn up for the election. There was high regret from the ibos after Jonathan conceded defeat.

So, save your strength and wait till INEC announces Buhari as the winner of the 2019 election, then you can cry yourself to death. Remember that NW has 18.9 million registered voters and SW has 14 million registered voters while SE and SS have 7.0 million and 8.9 million registered voters. I hope you still remembers that NE which Buhari saved from Boko Haram has about 10 million registered voters. NC which has Chief Thug Yahaya Bello as Kogi governor and another APC governor in Niger state. Definitely PDP cannot win these two States.
