The logic is that men are polygamous.

So their many different wives have a limit to their children allocation.

It is men impregnating women, so, they ought to limit the amount of children per father as well. What if they limit it to three and the man wants more kids? He will now go and remarry?

Take for instance ,FG pegs it at 2 kids per woman
Its means,
A northern man that married 4 wives can have 8 kids officially while a southern man than has 1 wife will have just two kids. Haba, these northerners and their FG self.

Finally some sense from this administration. Nobody should be allowed to have more than 2 kids. That's more than enough to anybody.

I think it should have been " regulating the number of kids per household" . This is because, even if they say they're limiting birth to two kids per woman, the average traditional Nigerian man would go for upto five wives to be able to have many sons. Except the number of wives will be regulated too. Or polygamy and baby-mamaism will be criminalized, which I don't see the viability.

if this policy can be implemented wholeheartedly, it will be the best policy ever aim at reversing/reducing the poverty level in this country, and if we are really serious about reducing the trend of poverty it has to be one woman one child policy. anybody with more than one baby at a birth? na im luck

They should better limit the number of kids per a family, (a family includes polygamous families too)limiting the number of kids per mother will end up in the encouragement of polygamy,

I said same two years' ago. They should be more specific though. Besides, the procreation of lots of children is not necessarily a Northern Nigeria phenomenon.

Southerners include Yorubas which have Muslims amongst them and polygamy is allowed. The remaining are Christians, so where in the bible is polygamy prohibited?

Finally the FG has come to terms with reality. It should be one per mother or you pay heavily. Nigerians don't have sense. Whether they are rich or poor they feel their birth right is that they must marry and/or have children. Smh.

If a man is allowed to marry four women based on his culture /religion, it still negates and defeat the planned policy. If each of the wives has three kids, total number for the man's households comes to 12.
