One of the reasons why population will continue to grow is illiteracy.
Firstly the government has to invest in the education sector, especially in the north.
Apart from this, culture is also another major factor for high fertility.
I think they should embark on serious Awareness, Sensitisation, and Campaign especially in the north because they have a the highest total fertility rate in the country, Jigawa for instance should be given special attention (their TFR is 6.5 i.e a woman in child bearing age 15-49 will give birth to 9 children in her lifetime) as compared to Lagos that has a TFR of 4.0 or Rivers that has a TFR of 3.3. As mentioned earlier, illiteracy cannot be separated from high fertility, the literacy level in Jigawa for instance is 25 while in Lagos and Rivers, it is 96 for both states.

Is it by their size only that they became the most powerful country? Why did they enforce one couple, one child at some point? The truth is that if the population size is not properly harnessed and channelled as is the case on Nigeria, it becomes one big nuisance and humanitarian disaster waiting to happen!

Bottom line is that leadership must become proactive, intelligent and more focused. That is why small countries like Israel are world powers and yet other small countries are hotbeds of war and disaster like South Sudan. It's not really about population size.

Family planning should also be part of the preachings during naming ceremony in Nigeria

I'm telling you...can you imagine In the military you will see officers (major, colonel, general) having 2,3 maximum of 4 children with one wife while soldiers (private, corporal, Sergent etc)with little monthly take home will have 2 wives or more with multiple concubines and produce 11 children. Tell me how would such children have better life. This is a real problem and real threat to national security directly or indirectly.

The men are the main problem not the women.

This is not gender inequality....since that word became a thing u women just use it whenever an issue involved a man and a woman...
Since divorce has not been banned, since polygamy is still allowed... If a man divorces a woman or takes another wife u can't say because of gender equality, the new wife shouldn't be allowed to have her own kids because the man has made 3 with the first wife...
Where very the sperm is coming from is not the issue, it can come from bank, it can come from husband, or from boyfriend....
Naturally and Technically, it is women that have Children. because a man can get a woman pregnant without even knowing. There are women taking care of their children alone without even letting a man know he has a child...

China has the worst family planning policy in the world...
They practice forced abortion and feticide....
For over 30 years they strictly enforced the one child policy with the aim of controlling their population....
And it worked for them....
They were able to produce a discipline and productive work force needed to feed the demand of a growing economy...
Something seriously lacking in nigeria....
An uncontrolled, unprepared and unplanned population growth is a recipe for national and economic disaster....

Faced with an aging population, China has eased its one-child policy.

After more than 35 years, China has rescinded its law banning many families from having more than one child; all of them will now be allowed to have two. The shift comes as China faces low fertility rates and an aging trend in its population.

"China's government has long argued that having too many mouths to feed would hold back the country's development," NPR's Anthony Kuhn reports from Beijing. "But critics have argued that besides being immoral, the policy was never really necessary, because as the country developed, couples would not want to have children, and that is exactly what has happened."

For years, the one-child policy was blamed for infanticide — particularly of female babies — and for coerced abortions.

Anthony Kuhn reported on a Chinese county whose vigorous population-control enforcement has led to an age in which schools are shuttered and retirement centers pop up.

How about number of children per men? If you want to limit the number of children woman have, it only makes sense to do so with men too seeing that a lot of times, men are the people who decide for the family

You will have to ban divorce and polygamy then...because u can't say a woman that just married a divorce shouldn't have her own children..

Pure foolishness aimed at controlling the rate of reproduction in the southern parts of Nigeria. The North controls the land and wants to control the population (knowing fully well that previous censuses were skewed in favor of the north). Foolish southerners will buy this idea, especially Christians who are obligated to marry one wife. Traditionalists and Muslims will begin to marry multiple wives to strategically eradicate Christianity (it's not as though the northerners will comply with the children ration acts anyways). They take Control of policies, control religion, control land, control population (family), control governments, control economy, control media, control arts and entertainment, control speech, control resources, control hell. They are the #controlfreaks and others are #foolishfreaks being controlled like cows on daily basis.

The only balance that will settle Nigeria is the emergence of a democratically elected Eastern President.
