Rivers angels remind me of why Okon got the sack with the SF. Very drab football. Chiamaka Nnadozie is a beast between the sticks |

2018 AWCON: Onome Ebi Not Scared of South Africa, Others As African Champions Eye World Cup Place Published: October 23, 2018 Super Falcons defender Onome Ebi has defiantly declared that the Nigeria's senior women national team are unperturbed by the threat of South Africa or any other country in the Group B of the 2019 Africa Women Nations Cup in Ghana as they seek to defend the title won in Cameroon two years ago. The Falcons coached by Thomas Dennerby are poised to clinch a record 11th African title having been unable to lift the trophy only twice since the competition began in 1998. The Falcons are grouped alongside South Africa, Zambia and Kenya after Sunday night's draw conducted by CAF's football development director and former Black Stars of Ghana defender Anthony Baffoe. "Facing South Africa is not different from facing any other team, as all teams are good to have qualified for the AWCON," Ebi exclusively told allnigeriasoccer.com on Tuesday. The Henan Huishang FC of China defender went on to insist that the Falcons are not just aiming to defend their title but have a good outing at the FIFA Women's World Cup in France next year. "This is not about being cocky. We respect other teams going to the Nations Cup but the motivation to defend this title is clear; it is serving as qualification to the next World Cup. "We are ready. Surely other countries are trying to catch up but this team (Nigeria) is strong and nobody scares us. We want to go to the World Cup and do very well this time," Ebi reiterated. Nigeria's best finish at the FIFA Women's World Cup was a quarter finals berth in 1999 when the Falcons lost 4-3 to the USA. Ghana, Cameroon, Mali and Algeria make up Group A of the CAF Africa Women Cup of Nations holding between 17 November and 1 December in Accra and Cape Coast. The three top teams (winners, runners up and bronze winners) will represent Africa at the FIFA Women's World Cup in France in 2019.

National Teams Dennerby Plans International Friendlies For Falcons Nigeria’s female national team, Super Falcons coach, Thomas Dennerby is looking beyond next month’s Africa Women Cup of Nations in Ghana, as he has started making plans for international friendlies for the squad. Although Dennerby stayed modest over his side’s chances of winning AWCON 2018 in Ghana, footballllive.ng gathered he is staying positive that they will qualify for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France. The top three teams at Ghana 2018 will go on to represent Africa at France 2019 and, though Dennerby insists the Falcons did not play well at the last edition of the continental championship that they won in Cameroon two years ago, he is upbeat they will again come tops. With that target in mind, Dennerby has now taken a projection into his build-up plans for the Mundial, hence his decision to start outlining the array of top-grade matches his side will play before heading to France. The Swedish tactician said he is hoping for quality preparations for the World Cup and wants some warm-up games for his side, as he says high-profile international friendlies are extremely important for his team. The 59-year-old tactician, who led the Falcons to a third-place finish at the WAFU Nations Cup in February before steering them to qualify for the 11th AWCON by mauling Gambia 7-0 on aggregate in June, charged Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to approve his build-up programme. Dennerby recounted how his side were not able to take advantage of previous FIFA windows, which he hopes will not be repeated next year, as he stressed that warm-up games will help his team reach top shape. He disclosed: “I have a schedule for the team. Now is the time to seal agreements with other countries worldwide for the FIFA international windows. It is extremely important for us to have friendlies. “Unfortunately we couldn’t use the window, but we still have another window from November 3. “I’ve been talking to a lot of the teams and they are interested in playing us. We have a lot of teams to play but I don’t have the final say on this; than to present my suggestions.”

Schemerkhiz:I hope he took notice of the aiteo cup. There were at least 3 solid options that didn't make the list starting with Evelyn Nwaboulu who put a shift in for 90 minutes and Vivian Ikechukwu who looks like the next big thing in Nigerian football, she is tall and skillful. I always felt something was going to happen when she got the ball and she was not wasteful. Also what the heck was Danjuma's problem with Glory Ogbonna? The girl is a smashing left back. |

This picture is an irony. September player of the month, Evelyn was not in the coach's 45 lady team.

National Teams Oshoala Can Be World’s Best Player- Dennerby Super Falcons technical adviser, Thomas Dennerby has come out with a stunning declaration that one of the team’s top players, Asisat Oshoala could sometime in the future become World Women Footballer of The Year, footballlive.ng can report. After seeing the former FC Robo of Lagos and Rivers Angels of Port Harcourt attacker win the African honour thrice in recent years, Dennerby is not scared of thinking further for her and believes she can be the first player from the continent to win the global gong as well. The Dalian Quanjian of China attacker, who was top scorer in the Chinese Women’s Super League in 2017, took home the African honour in 2014, 2016 and 2017, but Dennerby says the former Arsenal and Liverpool ace can also corner the global prize before quitting the round leather game. Denerby affirmed: ”I know that Asisat is performing very well in her club China, last week she scored a hat-trick, I also know her coach. ”We have players that can be at the top list, but I feel we have to work hard, the better the team perform the better the individual can be..

Our star attacker is a league winner Our star defender is a league winner. Both players played more than 70% of their team's matches. The coaches dont have a problem. In fact, we are much better than 2 years ago in Cameroon. Which 3 keepers will make the final team? I think Alaba, Nnadozie and Oluehi. |

olapluto:I think the GK trio would be Nnadozie, Jonathan, and Onyinyechi. |

As of today, VAR will not be used at the Women’s wold cup. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by BascoVanVeli(m): 9:31pm On Oct 27, 2018 |
PDPGuy:Why would they use it? How then will they cheat our ladies?. I still get angry when I think about how they cheated us in 2014. |

BascoVanVeli:That disallowed goal at the U-20 WC still irks me, because Nigeria would have won that tournament if that goal wasn’t wrongly ruled offside in the 86th minute ![]() |

To be fair, the coaches of the US, and Australia are calling for the use of VAR |

PDPGuy:Who's going to be 1st choice? |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by PDPGuy: 10:46pm On Oct 27, 2018 |
olapluto:I’m betting that Onyinyechi, because of her height (6ft), will get coach Dennerby’s nod as the starting GK. These European coaches have a thing for tall players, particularly in defensive positions. We all remember how former SE coach, Berti Vogts, preferred Austin Ejide to Enyeama due to the fotmer’s height (Ejide is around 6’3”, Enyeama is barely taller than 5’11”) |

| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by PDPGuy: 12:02am On Oct 28, 2018 |
BascoVanVeli:VAR would have shown that the player touched the ball AFTER it had crossed the line. That incident is a major reason why I want VAR and AARs at next year’s World Cup. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Schemerkhiz: 12:05am On Oct 28, 2018 |
PDPGuy:I can bet my Money on this that Onyinyechi Okeke won't make this team 100%..... 1st choice... .Tochukwu Oluehi 2nd choice.....Alaba Jonathan 3rd choice.... Chiamaka Nnadozie ... Christy Ohaeriaku has a better chance of making the team than Onyinyechi.. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Schemerkhiz: 12:09am On Oct 28, 2018 |
PDPGuy:.. Tochukwu Oluehi is the most experienced goalkeeper among them with over 40Caps for the Superfalcons, She was used during the AWCON qualifiers ...

Onyinyechi Okeke Fumble when not expected especially from Set piece... she have the height over the rest but I bet... Alaba Jonathan is for sure our Second choice, she makes up for her average height with her sharp reflexes and Confidence in front of goal. she is such a wonderful goalkeeper. her game reading abilities can't be kept aside. |

If the WWC draws were to be held today, the seeded teams would be France, USA, Germany, England, Canada, and Australia. |

Schemerkhiz:But Nnadozie is benching Oluehi at club level now. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Schemerkhiz: 7:10am On Oct 28, 2018 |
olapluto:Lol Rivers Angel coaches have their own reasons for benching Tochukwu Oluehi.... for Nnadozie. They both are not mate in terms of playing and experience, Tochukwu nicknamed The Flying Cat during her U20 days have been to 2 FIFA Women World Cup 2007 and 2011...she was also at the 2008 Olympics games Have also played in the UEFA Women Champions League, played in Belarus, Norway. Chiamaka is in form and developing fast, which I think doesn't need to be benched. Tochi has been there before even at 31yrs so there is no big deal. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Schemerkhiz: 7:27am On Oct 28, 2018 |
olapluto:chiamaka is the best in form goalie in Nigeria at the moment.. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 11:52am On Oct 28, 2018 |
Schemerkhiz:If she's inform then she should be number 1. Though I'm still very comfortable with Alaba. Very calm and reassuring. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by BascoVanVeli(m): 1:44pm On Oct 28, 2018 |
PDPGuy:The referee saw a chance and took it. At best it was stewpidity to even make a call in that situation but if you really watch that match u will see even more unimaginable calls made against our girls. What that referee did was criminal and she should have been punished. |
