Dalian and Jiangsu were separated by four points heading into Saturday’s game, but after picking one point and with a game left before the end of the league season, Dalian Aerbin will end the season with at least a point better than their closest rival.
The league champions will finish the season as the best attacking team, and Oshoala who earned a call up for Nigeria’s 2018 Africa Women’s Nations Cup camp, will return to international football in red hot goal scoring form.

Falcons players coming in hot. Havent heard much about Desire Oparanozie. Is she on form? If she is, the Ordega, Oparanozie, Oshoala as front 3 is a given. We will harm a lot of teams with that frontline.

Ebere Orji is back.... and Oghonna Chukwudi is also a nice option from the Left side.

2018 Women's AFCON: CAF big wigs in Accra for draw
Published on: 20 October 2018
A powerful delegation from the Confederation of African Football (CAF), led by its president, Ahmad Ahmad are expected in Accra, the capital of Ghana on Saturday, for the draw for the 11th Total Women's Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) on Sunday.
The Women's AFCON is the flagship of women's football on the continent and the Executive has shown much interest in hence their presence for the draw which will be at the Kempinski Hotel, Gold Coast City.
The event is also an important part of the countdown to the tournament and it is expected to attract much attention after months of uncertainty of the tournament taking place in Ghana.
Indeed, over the past two months, things have moved very fast with regards to preparation, and the draw on Sunday will set the battle lines for the competition slated for November 17 to December 1, with matches slated for the Cape Coast and Accra Stadia.
All week, an operational team from CAF, led by Deputy General Secretary in charge of development and football, Anthony Baffoe, has been in Accra, first for the final inspection of the facilities for the tournament, and then prepare for the draw on Sunday.
Apart from the CAF Executive, all the federation heads and officials of the teams that have qualified -- Nigeria, Cameroun, South Africa, Mali, Kenya, Algeria, and Zambia -- will also be in attendance.
Mr. Kofi Nsiah, the Chief Operating Officer of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) told the Graphic Sports online that all was set and the presence of the strong CAF team in Accra was indicative of how close the tournament was getting.
“Practically, the competition has started as we are now going into the final details with organisation. Once the draw is held on Sunday, the official countdown begins,” Mr. Nsiah said.
After the draw on Sunday, the representatives of the seven teams will visit the various training facilities and hotels designated for them.

I really don’t understand why Coach Dennerby decided to invite 48 players to camp, for a tournament that is only three weeks away.

I expected him and his crew to have invited no less than 30-32 players, and gradually whittle them down to the final 21-woman squad. By now he should know, at least, 85% of the players that would make his final squad; as Rohr did with the SE before their own World Cup.

Ugo Njoku is out of the pecking order, she hasn't even played any game since her return from France... she has to work her way back to the team.

just watch 97% of the invited Home-based players are not going to be picked.. they will be dropped the way they were called up ...
only few like Tochukwu Oluehi, Alaba Jonathan, Chiamaka Nnadozie, Glory ogbonna, Amarachi Okoronkwo, Osarenoma Igbinovia Christy Ucheibe have the 99% chance of making the team. The rest are coming back home.
Even Ajibade can't make that team.

I believe Anam IMO who under performed at the U20 women world Cup stand the chance of making the team due to the power of one of the coaches....
I pray this player relationships with coaches doesn't affect the team selection.

You won't find a better right fullback in the whole of Africa. I wonder why she is not playing

She didn't under perform, only the coach knows why he started playing her out of position.

Ugo Njoku remains one of the best right back to come out in Africa women football..
Her overlapping run can't be kept aside, she is full of energy and her delivery are top notch.
she combines her attacking and defensive duties well. But her move to the France Second divisions clubside really didn't help her game.. she isn't 100% fit right now and hasn't played since her return from France close to 3months now.

I want Nigeria and Zambia to qualify from our group. We might meet Cameroon in the semi final. We should be ready.
CAF needs to look at the timing again. Nigeria should get the evening games, as per heavyweight.

It’s a fair draw for the Super Falcons. I expect no less than 7 points from the team in that group.
I also want the South Africans to be group runners-up and advance to the semis. From there, I’ll be willing SA to wualify for a first ever World Cup.

Dennerby Cautious Over Falcons’ AWCON 2018 Group
Nigeria’s female national team, Super Falcons’ coach, Thomas Dennerby is staying cautious over reactions to the Africa Women Cup of Nations draw that pits his team with South Africa, Kenya and Zambia.
Following Sunday night’s draw that placed the defending champions in Group B alongside the less-fancied three, many pundits have tagged it an easy stroll into the semi-final for the Falcons.
However, footballlive.ng can report that Dennerby has refrained from sharing the same sentiments, as he acknowledged that every other country will be in Ghana next month to pick Women World Cup tickets.
Ghana head Group A in Accra and Nigeria top Group B in Cape Coast, which means both rivals can only clash in the knockout stage of the tournament.
In Ghana’s group for the tournament, which will run from November 17 to December 1, are 2016 hosts, Cameroon as well as Algeria and Mali.
Two teams will qualify from each group, but only the top three teams from the competition will fly Africa’s flag at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France next June.
Besides being defending champions, the Falcons are also the most successful team in the competition’s history, having won the tournament a record eight times.
Dennerby, though, acknowledged that the Falcons’ record would be a big challenge to meet up with, as all other competitors at Ghana 2018 will want to bring down the Nigerians and eventually stop their domination.
Dennerby said: “(It is) a good group and really have a good chance to win it even though we expect a tough game against South Africa.
“We have a good idea of South Africa, but not much about Zambia and Kenya. We will try to analyse these teams and won’t underrate them.”

Banyana coach Ellis pleased to draw Nigeria in AWCON group
Published on: 22 October 2018
South Africa coach Des Ellis says she is pleased to be meeting Nigeria in the group stage of the 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations, as her side seeks a first-ever qualification for the FIFA Women's World Cup.
Banyana Banyana, who have been runners-up in the continental championship on four previous occasions, have been pooled with the Super Falcons, Kenya, and fellow Southern African side Zambia for the tournament in Ghana from November 17 to December 1.
It means Banyana will avoid tournament favourites Nigeria in the semifinals, if they make it that far, potentially boosting their chances of reaching the World Cup in France next year. The top three teams in Ghana will represent the continent on the global stage.
"There was never going to be an easy group - all eight teams that have qualified are top quality, and we all know that to be the best, you have to beat the best," Ellis said in a media release from the South African Football Association.
"We have been anxiously waiting for this draw to take place so that we take our preparations to the next level now that we know who we will face in the tournament."
South Africa open their campaign against the Nigerians on November 18 in Cape Coast, before clashes against Kenya and Zambia round out their pool play.
Ellis added: "Nigeria has won this tournament a record 10 times and they are the defending champions, so they will definitely be sensing victory against us.
"But we are glad to be meeting them now and not later in the tournament because our last encounter ended in tears for us. We lost 1-0 in the semifinal of this competition in 2016, and that denied us a chance to be at the World Cup.
"Playing them in the first match is also a tricky affair because you have to be on top of your game from the first whistle, and any mistake they will punish you.
"In any case, I always tell the players that the first fixtures of any tournament are very important as they set the tone for the rest of the competition. I believe we will be ready for them this time - we are much wiser."
Kenya only qualified for AWCON after Equatorial Guinea were disqualified for fielding an ineligible player, while Zambia could only manage fourth at the recent COSAFA Women's Championship.
In terms of their potential semifinal opponents, Group A contains hosts Ghana, Mali, Algeria, and Cameroon, who Banyana defeated 2-1 in a hard-fought final of the COSAFA event.

Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by PDPGuy: 10:18pm On Oct 22, 2018
I seriously want SA to qualify for the world cup. Their years of organization and dedication to the women's game, on the continent should finally pay off. Yes, they've been to two Olympic Games, but that's a whole different experience from being at a World Cup.

My three African reps at the World Cup would be Nigeria, Ghana, and South Africa.
