I think BNK10 will get some relieve from here but I don't think appetite to hit C is there now, probably will get a failed trend X then we hit new low to make a higher degree WXY correction

Yea that's why I said I don't see the appetite there to hit C but from what I see price will rally at least enough to make an X worst scenario we get a sideways triangle.

NIGERIANS
are daydreaming their way to a poorer future by keeping too great a portion of their investments in NIGERIA despite massive underperformance of NSE indices, Skyrocketing cost of living and a future which looks equally bleak for those trying to grow or even just preserve their wealth.
It's time for Nigerians to invest with their heads, not their hearts. I am advising young investors to invest as much of their money as they can elsewhere in the world. I do not see a single reason why people should keep any discretionary investable funds in this country.

People should keep their house and their pension as their only assets here if they live in Nigeria . But the rest should be invested in hard currency assets that will protect their buying power, which has already been deeply eroded.

Nigeria is now in its longest downward business cycle since the inception of NSE and the performance of its assets continues to reflect this unfortunate reality.

The Naira has lost its value against the US dollar in the past five years and remains under pressure. Investors in Nigerian equities have lagged developed markets, while prices of commodities have increased at less than half the rate of inflation for several years.

The S&P 500, for example, has delivered a total return of nearly 100percent in the past five years, the Nasdaq 147percent and even the 10-year Treasury bond a return of 12percent. The total return in Naira for the Nigerian general equity market over the same period is just nudging 11 to 21percent versus a 131percent total return of the MSCI World Index, also in Naira . But the Nigerian general equity market return rebased to US dollars is down 30 percent. Many popular Equities are also showing negative dollar returns over five years.

A contributor on Nairaland investment forum has seen a sharp uptick in the numbers of nairalanders who are worried about the future here and want to protect their wealth for their families not for the polithievcians.

Despite already being in a downward trajectory , Nigeria is marching on with plans to elect Atiku or the incumbent both of which will spell further doom for the economy, Atiku party has even promised to revert pump price of petrol to N79/litre (suicidal economy promises) while carrying on with an economic and industrial policy which will only make things worse for the country - potentially leading to further rating downgrades, a bailout and sustained or increased high unemployment, further borrowing from IMF, World Bank , CHINESE BANKS and other Lenders.
NIGERIANS are in a "day- dreaming denial" instead of taking hard action.

Much of the advice we read on this forum does not reflect the reality of Nigeria today. People deriving unrealistic FA and TA with fictitious datas.
For instance, it is a long-held belief that local investors and traders should JIJO while some opined on long-term (myself included) . Being completely independent
I will advise local investors to move 30% to 50% of portfolio offshore. (Not traders)
I am banging the table on this one and saying get your money out.

I am advising potential investors to put money in the US despite many predictions that the markets there have run so hard a steep correction is imminent.

The US is the most dynamic, innovative economy in the world. And despite stock price gyrations, for the longer-term investor I think being exposed to many of the world's best companies is a far better play than investing 100% of your investable funds in NSE .

@AGBALOWOMERI.... DZ OPINION IS DEDICATED FOR YOUR INSIGHT AND DEEP UNDERSTANDING OF NSE.
I HOPE YOU CAN POT TO NYSE FOR THE BENEFIT OF ALL.. LOL

NIGERIA STOCK MARKET GENERAL COMMENT/MSCI NIGERIA PORTFOLIO MOVEMENT - AS AT 2 NOVEMBER 2018

Still no action from the MSCI Nigeria side.

Last week was a difficult one the all share index decreased from 32907.33 to 32,124.94; market depth was also negative with 50 losers and 18 gainers.

For today expected High is 32,215.03 low at 32,020.75

This week is likely to be another difficult one with the Government and the Labour Unions flexing muscles in the fight for supremacy. We should be in no hurry to buy, by the end of the week we are likely to see more bonanza in some equities.

Time to play on the safe side of the market; slow down no need to hurry.

In view of the fact that some additional information on our postings will now be added, you can check our twitter handle “Target Technical Analysis” and also look forward to our book that will give a simple equation for interpreting the income statements know what you can investing in by just looking without any complex/time wasting calculation, you are done within 3 minutes of looking at any Income statement.

Caution: This is for information purpose only. Data used are assumed to be correct. However, you may want to verify the data from an appropriate source. Also, Institutions can afford to suffer big losses without going burst compared with an individual, you cannot follow them blindly (you need to at least have some knowledge/your own plan).

1. Due to the fact so many new people are coming to this forum and may not know this use of following the “big monies that move markets”, I will be indicating why/how to use the information. This will be a permanent future of my post to reduce some comments which may prevent the people that understand the system from confusion by people who have not followed how this started. My comment for today for anybody who doubts the efficacy of following the fund is to look at my recent recommendations for the past 2 months.

2. The fund will still hold some equity, the terms of service states this. Thus no matter the condition of the market, it will not liquidate to Zero. This is an equity fund investing in the Nigeria market.

3. You cannot bear losses like the fund. The pocket of the fund is too deep. Therefore, as an individual you are not suppose to be in the market during the stock market crash. Before or during the crash, reduce your holding.

4. If you are seeing this type of data on MSCI for the first time. You may need to verify the figures. Go to my previous posts (https://www.nairaland.com/yok/posts), you will see the various sources where the data can be verified.

Lol. Una funny, you are running to where the American Youths are leaving.

If you want to hedge against the naira, this means you are hedging against the US dollars and other global fiats in the grand scheme of things. Overpriced US equities won't help you.

Go study Cryptocurrencies. That is the best hedge out there.
