1. Where can I snap the '2 identical passport pictures according to biometric specification.
2. I don't have my School Leaving Cert of Primary as this was long missing, how do I go about it?

Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 5 by Fabcol(m): 10:58pm On Nov 13, 2018
1. Go to any photo studio and tell them the specific
2.I don't know if there is an alternative to that.. I haven't gone for an Interview at the German embassy yet tho I know a friend that did his interview without the said document..hopefully someone with such experience here would help answer that

Good morning to all veterans in the house

Please I have a question and I will love if I can get the replies because that would help me a lot and set me in the right direction

I have certified my documents and I will be writing TOEFL in a couple of weeks

I am rushing this because I have plans to travel to UAE by January. I will start my April application from UAE

Now this is my question. Is it possible for me to arrange my embassy appointment in UAE? or should I chill in Nigeria and apply from here

The plan is to enter Germany from UAE, and I am doing this just to hustle a bit

I will appreciate your reply
Where have you been Bro? smiley

1,Pls check the specifications of the photograph u gonna take. I know your face most cover 70 to 80%. As said, any professional photographer will do a nice job.
2, its better to go with complete documents than incomplete documents. In my case, I had to return to my primary school to get a copy of the certificate after 18 years.

Some V.O must ask for it, some don't but I read here that Abuja applicants were asked.

Thanks alot for this info. But I someone should help me on the below;
1. Do I need to notorize the photocopies of my doc for visa interview?
2. Will I see a prepaid courier envelop at the embassy?

However, I had called the phone number from Germany website: 09029905159 relating an issue during my filling of the National Visa Application Form. Then I was told that, aside the appointment confirmation email, I will need to request for a gate pass (permit) from the Consulate General, and that the Consulate General will have to Authorize my appointment. And for this I am required to pay the sum of N30,000.00

The below account details were sent via phone to make the payment;
Bank Name: UBA
Account No.: 2113226928
Account Name: RICHARD EFE

A beg, guys, how we take do our own. Because, I dey smell fraud here oooo.

Thanks for your replies.

Please ,did you get the booking reservation immediately via email or later, like for how long? ,cos I haven't gotten mine. Thanks

I want to appreciate everyone giving out valuable information on here. I have a little problem. I'm interested in studying at FAU ERLANGEN but I have not been seeing good reviews about their admission, is there anyone that knows a student in that school. Saw on nairaland they refused admission because of certification ( probably they don't accept any document not certified by the embassy). Thank you
I have done my certification at a high court but need be I may have to go to the embassy to make another set of certified documents

They accept only notarized copies with stamped and red sealed in it

Hello house, will it be possible to get an admission to summer intake 2019 for undergraduate courses.
My brief bio
O levels 2007- Gce made my papers except English
O levels 2008- WAEC made all papers except maths
Got an admission to study law University of Abuja in 2009- due to parents pressure
I made it through till 400level, having the knowledge that I'll have 2 sessions extra year, had to drop the course because it wasn't my calling or area of interest.
I finally got an approval after some many family feuds to do the course I originally wanted which is Information technology.
I have my 100-400 transcripts, and during the strikes in between i gained some experience in an Approved IT firm in Lagos.
I'm 27, Please I need Help and advice and I wish to study in Germany for the next intake.2019. thanks Fam.

I really have to thank those who stayed back to help even after getting their visas and despite their busy study and work programs in Germany.

I also have to thank those who shared their experiences right from visa journey to life in Germany as foreign students.

For newbies your German school search starts here https://www.daad.de/deutschland/studienangebote/en/

The following steps will help newbies (Thanks to CassieV for the tips)

Most of the schools in Germany are tuition free even for international students, you only get to pay a certain amount as semester fees say between 100-400 euros and most times the semester fee comes with a semester ticket to aid in transportation in your city or town.
However, before you're granted a student visa, you have to prove that you can take care of your living expenses with one of the following means ;
1. Block account: The estimated living expenses for a student in a month is 720euros, when you multiply that by 12 months, you get 8640euros. This is the amount you're required to block in an already opened account with either Deutsch bank, Fintiba or Xpatrio. It is called a block account because you will not be able to withdraw everything at once, only 720euros will be released to you every month.
2. Sponsorship letter: If you have a relative living and working legally in Germany, they can get you this letter. They'll have to visit the alien office in their city and will be required to provide some documents and pay a certain fee. The letter will be sent to you when they receive it so that you can go with it for your visa interview.
3. Scholarship: This is usually the best if you have the scholarship, your visa will be granted in under 2 weeks after interview. So try and look for scholarships you can apply to.

Now that you understand the financial situation, let's go into the application process.
To search for schools, click on this link
https://www.daad.de/deutschland/studienangebote/international-programmes/en/?p=l&q=&fos=0&lang[]=2&fee[]=0&sortBy=1&page=1&display=list
filter your search to make it easier, there are English taught courses there.
Generally, the very important documents needed to apply to schools in Germany are;
1. Transcript
2. English Proficiency
3. School Certificates (Degree, Waec, etc)
However, depending on the school, some other documents needed are as follows.
4. Curriculum Vitae
5. Motivation letter
6. Reference letters
7. GRE test
8. Etcetera.. Visit your prospective school website and find out the documents they need from you.
Note: You don't apply with your original documents, you have to make photocopies of them and Certify them in High court or a Notary public. If you stay in Lagos, you can certify at the German Embassy too. You'll have to book appointment for that.
For those planning to go for a Bachelors course, you need a 100level transcript from a university to apply for a BSc program in germany. WAEC alone will not be enough and No, OND will not do, you need a HND.

For the application proper, it is always important to go through the website of the schools you want to apply to, you'll get a lot of information form there concerning how to apply. Some schools do only online applications, some requires that you send your application documents to them by post after applying online, some you send your documents as pdf to their email address and then you get the uni assist crew.
Like I said earlier, it is important to go visit and read the websites.

When you get your admission letter, open a block account immediately(that is if you don't already have a sponsorship letter) and as soon as you get your account details, send an email to the embassy requesting for a visa interview date.
You need these to get an interview date:
1. Admission letter
2. Block account/sponsorship letter/scholarship letter
3. International passport data page(scanned)
Then your Full name and Resident address.

Prepare for your interview
Go for your interview

Please am just new here, and just started processing my admission to Germany.
Please people of good will, I just got all my documents ready but finding it difficult uploading it at uniassist data base. And my deadline is almost around the corner. Pls what do I do?

Thanks for your kind assistance.
