I'm a lab scientist and the best line of action is to marry a compatible genotype. If you're AS and go ahead to marry AS all your kids could be SS as these are probabilities.

SS isn't a good thing at all... Pls don't ever try it. You need to see what these people face in the hospital

From the doctors explanations - AC has similar features to AS xo the combination isn’t encouraged. Best to have AC+AA or AS+AA

AS andAC will have SS.AC is just like AS in status i in some laboratories if you have AC they will write AS for you. because they are the same.

SC completely left out of the possibilities.. Its a form of sickle cell disease on it's own.. SS is just one of the forms .. Sickle cell disease is a spectrum

Thank you, my sister is facing one right now. Its not an experience i will wish on my enemy. Infact the federal government should criminalise such union.

The only cure wish is a bone marrow transplant will cost about N14 million not to talk of the extreme pain the innocent child is going through.

Lol, there is nothing good about SS. Its something people should run away from. The intelligence myth and arguement far outweigh the crisis. Despite all the money spent on treatment the patient may not survive.

Not really, but they are not just that much compare to the others. I have 2 friends with Ac Geno. There own major problem is Bone pain

For example

AS + AS could result to

AS AS AS AS

OR

AA AA AA AA

OR

AS AS AS AS...

And so on

Is not recent, just that it's not common in some geographical region. Some of the arrangement is wrong.
