Assuming Zambia beats SA 1-0 on Saturday, and Nigeria beats Equatorial Guinea, both Nigeria and South Africa would still qualify. And Nigeria would win the group. The tie-breaker in that situation would be Goal Difference in matches involving SA, Nigeria and Zambia. Results obtained against Equatorial Guinea would be disregarded. So, the GD of teams would be: Nigeria +3 South Africa 0 Zambia -3 Then, if Zambia defeats South Africa 2-0, SA still advances because the GD would be: Nigeria +3 South Africa -1 Zambia -2 |

With the way Equatorial Guinea have turned out to be the whipping ladies of the group, should coach Dennerby hand Nnadozie a starting spot on Saturday? |

PDPGuy: No. Let him leave the team as it is, by all means we should top the group with a convincing win and higher goal margin than S.A against Guinea. 1 Like |

peacengine:. exactly, I like the way the team was set up yesterday, the only weak link is desire. She is a bit heavy . The Guineans are unfit and paceless so we need to capitalise on there weak link. I just pray Oshoala won't forget her scoring boot at home. yesterday match is still painful. 3 Likes |

Yesterday the first half was almost thesame clueless football, the second saw a slight improvement with better passing and movement of the ball. l think we miss Ugo Njoku tho, because our full backs would rather balloon the ball from defence rather than run rings round the attack. lt seems we lack ball playing full backs, who find it difficult to convert defence into attack by moving the ball on the ground. Rita Chikwelu was also a weak link yesterday and l wonder why, because at her best, she's very creative. 2 Likes |

True. Faith Ikidi Michael is especially guilty of this. Always hoofing the ball. Anyway we have a Glory Ogbonna who is a Left Back on the bench. She is a very good fullback talent and knows how to contribute to attack but we may not see her just yet because Ngozi Ebere is definitely first choice. Glory Ogbonna was our best player at the Wafu Women's championship from the left as a full back. Daejoyoung: 2 Likes |

Glad to see that Dennerby is not carried away by the 4-0 win. We need to be much more wickedly clinical Nigeria’s Thomas Dennerby unimpressed despite victory over Zambia By Femi Badmus, Correspondent The Super Falcons’ boss believes his team had the ability to score many goals but couldn’t convert begging chances Thomas Dennerby was not impressed with the Super Falcons despite their 4-0 triumph over Zambia in Tuesday’s Africa Women Cup of Nations game. Goals from Desire Oparanozie, Francisca Ordega, Rasheedat Ajibade and Amarachi Okoronkwo helped the reigning African champions to bounce back from their opening day defeat to South Africa. Asisat Oshoala had a poor game as she missed several begging chances which could have killed off the game in the first half at the Cape Coast Stadium. And, although, the tactician is delighted with the victory, he felt that the team could have gotten more goals against Shepolopolo. “First of all, I am very happy we managed to score four goals in this game but honestly I am not 100 percent happy with our performance because we should have scored more goals,” Dennerby told Caf website. “After our opening game in which we lost, I talked about being professional and using experience to come back in the next game, not being anxious and work on hard. “I don't think this game we won today is the defining game in the group and now we have to work harder in our next fixture so we secure a place in the semi-finals. So we stay cool and keep working. Of course I am happier than three days ago.” A win for the Nigerians against Equatorial Guinea in their last group game will see them book a place in the semi-final. I noted in the first game that our defensive organisation is looking more rigid. This is what you get from a foreign coach. Now, looking at the team generally, I think we can improve in attack and midfield, but the team is finding its balance. I have watched almost all matches at AWCON 2018 fully and I can say that our display in 2nd half against Zambia was the most solid defensively in the tournament. Moving forward, I will like us to rest Oshoala and Oparanozie after 60 mins against Equitorial Guinea. Also, I'll prefer we rest Ordega for the next match, so she's fresh, but I know the coach wont do it. She needs fitness. As we are likely to meet Cameroon in the SF, then we must be physically ready. Cameroon is not known for technical play. Their game is easily readable and I'm sure we will beat them, albeit a tight game. 1 Like |

I agree with y’all that Chukwunonye performed way better as a right-back. She brought do much energy to the attack that I wonder why she was initially on the bench Anyway, my preferred lineup would be: ———————Nnadozie—————- -Chukwunonye—-Ebi—-Ohale—-Ebele—— —————————Ayinde———————- —————Okobi————A. Okoronkwo——- ———Oshoala——-Oparanozie—-Ordega—- 2 Likes |

olapluto: Apologize for what? As long as Ajibade is not included in the starting 11, I could care less. Any stiff can kick the ball. |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Duru1(m): 7:41pm On Nov 22, 2018 |
TheSuperNerd: Super, This is funny though. Any below average player can direct the ball into the net at an opportune moment. I still will never field Ajibade if I am the coach. I guess not every team will be Zambia. |

PDPGuy:Josephine Chukwunonye is a natural Center Back but can also play as a makeshift right back.. coach Thomas Dennerby will never think of benching Faith Ikidi except that injury she sustained on her forehead. |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by BascoVanVeli(m): 2:30pm On Nov 23, 2018 |
Schemerkhiz: I would bench both fullbacks and Chikwelu. Chukwunonye did good and I am sure Glory Ogbonna would give us way more than we have been getting at LB |
