Wow. What a finish in Group A! I feel some sympathy towards the Ghanaians on being eliminated at home The Super Falcons should, as Ghana did, put the Cameroonians on the back-foot from the blast of the whistle. The Lionesses aren’t as invincible as I thought, or were they bring conservative because they only needed a draw today? |

Super falcons better not fumble tomorrow. |

Schemerkhiz:Super happy. Other girls will get Swedish clubs and top Euro clubs with this Coach's connection. If we win AWCON, I expect Amarachi Okoronkwo to move out after. Ajibade is due a big move too. 3 Likes |

I don't feel so bad for Ghana because they have the brightest bunch of young players coming from their U17. I believe those girls would best most teams in this tournament. |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 8:51pm On Nov 23, 2018 |
BascoVanVeli: Ghana is actually declining. They have always had good U17 players, and never do well at U20. The progression is not there. We are quite lucky in that aspect. The next 3 generation of super Falcons is already known. Ihezuo, Ajibade, Biawo, Okeke, Basirat Amoo, etc. We are very lucky. That is why I laugh when I hear that the gap is closed in Africa. South Africa's so called speedy players are players our U17 and U20 used as chewing sticks. I just pray we meet SA again. They will hear wen! 1 Like |

So the Ghanaians are out . Serves them real right . Didn't that coach of theirs say they would never loss to us again after the WAFU cup? ... Pity we won't find that out.. I expect nothing but victory by a wide margin tomorrow from our girls...I'm sure they will deliver since they know what's at stake.. |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by BascoVanVeli(m): 9:02pm On Nov 23, 2018 |
olapluto: Ghana U17 are the real deal. I have not seen an African team play this well since our U20s at Canada. Their striker is a special player already with 6 goals in matches. That team would trash their senior side |

BascoVanVeli:I don't think they had faced a tactically decent team yet.Their match against Finland really exposes their loopholes. Am still waiting for them to face the big countries. |

Schemerkhiz: I will suggest this line up : ———————Nnadozie—————- -Chukwunonye--Nnodim--Ohale--—-Ebele—— —————————Ayinde———————- —————Okobi————Ajibade——- ———Oshoala/Ihezue ——-Ihezue/Oshoala —-Ordega—- Ebi is frankly becoming a little bit tired. Chukwunonye made all the difference against Zambia and Nnodim though small is very solid. Oparanozie misses opportunities and hardly joins in build ups. She is a typical Yekini type up 9. Ihezue falls back and with the fronts ready to fall back to the mid field, they can be hardly played out. If they do not move up as needed, Oparanozie can be brought in. Jokes apart, Ajibade is good. Two solid attacking midfielders with 3 fronts will pack up the mid field and put the Cameroonians out of play. 2 Likes |

naijaseeker: I’d rather Ihezuo come in for Oparanozie. As you said, Ihezuo tracks back and presses opposing defenders well. Her strength will complement the pace and trickery of Oshoala and Ordega. |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by mostob(m): 6:47am On Nov 24, 2018 |
naijaseeker:I don't fancy Ajibade in that midfield, she doesn't have the flair to run with the ball . I will prefer a tenacious CM 1 Like |

naijaseeker:Onome Ebi @35 really did well in containing that Zambian top9 with her experience and Aeriel abilities .. I couldn't believe it because that girl is so strong and fast. |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by PDPGuy: 8:07am On Nov 24, 2018 |
I know it’s super early, but this would be my ideal formation at the World Cup: ———————Nnadozie——————— —-Njoku——Ohale—-Ebi—-Ebere—- ————Nwabuoku—Ayinde—————- ————————Okobi————- ——-Oshoala——Umotong——Ordega—— I have a gut feeling that the likes of Umotong and Igbinovia would make the World Cup squad, while Courtney Dike, Sophia Omidji, Uchechi Sunday would also make the provisional squad. |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by PDPGuy: 8:15am On Nov 24, 2018 |
Schemerkhiz:Yes, Onome has held her own in this tournament, thus far. But at 35 (36 at the World Cup), would she have the energy to handle the speedy and tricky American or French forwards? I put her in my fantasy 11 because the strong midfield would do an ok job in shielding her from lots of opposition pressure. I personally feel that she should retire after the World Cup. |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by BascoVanVeli(m): 9:00am On Nov 24, 2018 |
PDPGuy: I see no reason why someone at the very top of her game should think of retirement now. She can play into her 40s considering the shape she is in right now. Retirement should be based on performance and not just how old the player is getting 1 Like |

We all love Onome. I do love her. The type I feel for very good, skillful and dedicated Falcon players who are also beautiful. Coupled with the replacement may be not be as good as she was in her hey days. Stella Mbachu was in this class. Since she left, Falcons has not had a good right winger with the speed and the brain. It may be very difficult to replace an Oparanozie type of 9. Same with Onome type of Central Defender. She had kept her position of generations of Falcons for a reason. But we need to move forward. Imagine, we are wondering how she was able to perform. This means, we know she is old. It is time for her to ease off and frankly I do not expect to see either Onome or Oparanozie on the team after this assignment. They have simply lost their sharpness. They are good based on experience but a skillful young player will disgrace them. IF not here, but at the world cup. Zambians were not a very hard opponent. How about Cameroonians who will be very physical for 90 minutes. We need more than experience against them because they will stretch the Falcons physically simple. |

PDPGuy: Beside Ajibade, Nwabuoku is the worst player I have ever seen play for Nigeria in international competition. Sophia Omidji is a joke. |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Duru1(m): 2:21pm On Nov 24, 2018 |
olapluto: I have never overcome the surprise how this girl made U20 and Florence Ijamilusi did not. Ijamilusi is one of the best bet for Nigeria in the midfield along with Ucheibe. This young girl tracks the ball better than any player in both U17 and U20. 1 Like |

Schemerkhiz: This hype is getting extra-ordinary. My record indicates that Halimatu Ayinde played with Asarum AIF, Sweden last season. Besides, she had plied her trade in USA with New England team before now. |

We could have done better but I must admit that Chikwelu had a smashing performance today. Ordega was my woman of the match though. I think this might be Frany's best tournament for the Super Falcons yet. she is our MVP so far. 1 Like |
