If his family and perhaps entire lineage was dependent on his securing a visa 'to study' 'then it is patently obvious the embassy got this one right as the fellow has no abilities to sustain himself there and therefore no intention to perform the tasks for which the visa was sought.

Please this is not a topic. This is just the working of a system that actually works.

If you cannot take up the 'free education' offer of your government. What business do you have subjecting your family members to such tragic losses on your wild goose chase.

That's what happened to UK. When UK started this nonsense in 2010 or so, all attention diverted to US because back then they were more liberal. Till today, UK has lost it's appeal to Nigerians.

Truth is this is a Trump effect. Trump doesn't want us. And he gave a directive for the embassy staff to follow. I even think the embassy staff are not happy giving us denials left and right but they have to keep their job and follow orders. Also this Canada wahala will haunt us for a very long time.

All that story of Nigerians not coming back is BOBO. A few Nigerians overstay but the majority come back. We like to travel, we like shopping, we like taking pictures, we like to explore and we like to show off.. It is just who we are.

During Obama's tenure Nigerians got visas easily and barely overstayed. The highest number of Visa overstayers in the US are Canadians and Europeans. Nigeria was not even in top 10.

Truth is, for now let's visit other countries. There are 144 countries in the wo ccrld. All of them cannot deny us visas
true dat boss other countries await us by God's grace

if only Nigeria can boycott them ...u will see how they will change their policy quickly.

Like eery other company that want to make money...they have target per month on applicants that they will gibe the visa to an those that won't get it.

In a week they can issue out visa for only 5 students
lol yes oh but the question is boycotting is hard for us but i see the US losing patronage in some years to come if dey continue like dis.

Getting US Non immigrant visa is straight and easy. You have to show that you have strong ties in your home country, else you appear as an intending immigrant. Those consular officers don't hate you, they score you with your forms before you get there to actually know your intention.

If your intention is clear as a non immigrant, they will ask few questions and ask you to pick your passport and visa from your chosen drop off centre.

If your intentions are not clear enough, then get ready for series of tricky questions which might take 20-50 mins. If he's convinced, your visa is sure.

If your intentions are obvious, they will just ask you perhaps two to three questions usually less than 4 mins.

Admission letter from a university in the USA is not a guarantee that your visa is certain.
Its not based on what you were asked on the interview that gives you the visa, you have been scored before getting there.

Most of these visas Applicants Appear ignorant, they don't seem to be reading their Small prints on the rules and regulations of visa Applications.

Embassies or consulates reserves the right not to Grant visa to any individual regardless of who they may be. And they do not have to give reasons why visas are denied.

My ex wife works as an Immigration (senior supervisor) officer at the.....i am not gonna mention were. she tells me that It wouldn't matter what document or how Authententic and genuine your documents, visa Applications or how wealthy you are, they can Denie you a visa.

Infact, she said she Denied some Nigerian Individuals a visa just because they couldn't be bothered to say Good morning! to her. grin And that some of them speaks broken English rather. some of them can not even express themselves boldly and confidently Academically, even though they claim to be Academics

She also revealed that before Any Applicant even come Through the consulate's Door for an interview their visa had Aready been denied, They would just Ask them some irrelevant questions and let them blab on for few minutes before handing them the denial letter.

And that she feels guilty and pity for some of them some times but the Arrogant ones who comes in bragging about how they are well connected and wealthy always gets denial from her.

like the OP have Already asserted, if you are between 19 and 45 years old your visa will be denied especially if you have No strong ties to Nigeria like, Families, wife, husband, children, A good well paid job, A Healthy business, healthy bank balance or you are an Employer. something that would draw you back to Nigeria if or when you visit the US.

If you are 55, 65 70, 75, 80 years old your visa would likely be Granted because at these ages you have no potentials in the US or UK. No company would Employ an Old man or woman especially the ones from Africa/Nigeria, you would be a retiree at that Age anyway.

so nigerian youths should quit decieving themselves with this False trend of going to study in the US/UK, stay put in nigeria and make nigeria GREAT! ! grin

i think they give visa to only married folks cos when I went for my Visa interview in Oct 2016, I was just asked one question if I was married and I answered yes and purpose of visit, I answered going for Morris cerullo conference and duration I said plus or minus 10days cos my wife will soon put to bed. ND she told me welcome to United States and u will need to go get ur passport in the address he handed me bla bla bla. and behold our interview section of that day I was the only one that got visa approved even Reverend frs, pastors, students and many big men where all denied visa. I don't know but atimes when u see the way put people lie it just obvious. u do need to impress or lie about going to us, these people are trained psychologist. they read u, read ur body language and ur vocal sounds and your eyes. they know when u r not being sincere and it's a no no for them.

yea! Right! i have been denied an American visa before even though i hold a British passport.

It's not that simple, Europeans are denied visa all the time, maybe not as Much as Nigerians.

And which passport will you use to Apply for a US visa from Europe, Nigerian passport? or the passport that says you are not born in Nigeria?

Gbam!! and they are out to exploit Nigerians, grin

Even with all the terrible treatmeants and denials nigerias are still trooping to their Embassy to Apply, some people go on to Apply for more than 5 times after the first refusal hoping that Their dry fasting and prayers will do it eventually.
Re: Visa-seeking Nigerian Students Lament Sad Experiences At US Embassy by myk2mic: 2:00pm On Nov 26, 2018
Truth of the matter is that they can't give everyone that comes visas, so the onus is on you to convince them that u r travelling for genuine reasons.

For those applying for schs, pls try and apply for top schools and see if ur chances of getting the visa won't increase, some folks just apply to schools dat don't have high rating even in America.

All those saying they going to flight school to train to become pilots, pls go to avaition sch in Zaria or SA ,when u r done u can apply to schs in the USA ,this convinces them that u r serious abt becoming s pilot and that u also have the funds to take care of ur self.

For those going for conferences, hehehehe, is it a paid conference or is it free(red flag), are u sponsoring ur self or is it a company doing that, what job for u do ,can you explain ur job description and relate it to the conference u intend to attend .etc

Look the truth is it's 50/50, if you package urself well even if u lie you can still be given ,just hope or pray that it favours you, but settle in ur heart and know that there wld only be one of two outcomes, given or denied.

My first visit to the embassy and I was given,,( had travel history though ) but the lady dat interviewed my asked me questions abt my trips to Asia and Europe ,what I went to do places, where I went to etc ,asked me abt my company and job description (IT stuff) asked my technical questions on IT stuff ,at the end I got the visa. Funny thing is since I got it ,I never even use am travel over a year now.lol

I find tgmhe fast and praying part of the report funny. Fasting and praying is personal the applicant, and we the readers do not need that information. i hope the applicamt did not show a sign of religious inclination at the interview as that is a big NO. The interviewer could have been an atheist, muslim or idol worshipper sef.

If you truly own a British Passport, you do not need a visa to US if your visit is less than 90 days. I have been to Britain numerous times and I never applied for a visa because i carry an American Passport.

American soil may not have oil, but they'll buy 5 oil producing nation's and 2 technology producing nation's (Germany and Japan) . oil producing nation's don't even have up to $1TRN as GDP. (Quote me anyway) ,Norway has oil but their GDP us $400BN , Germany has no oil and has a GDP of $3.7TRN , Japan has no oil and has a GDP of $4.8TRN and Nigerians GDP is about $371BN , while that of America is $20TRN!!! cheesy

so you can imagine, the future doesn't rely on oil but TECHNOLOGY! This is why we want biafra. we don't want to depend on natural resources like the Nigerians but human capital development and technology

Say "NO" to abortions.

What's that saying, "you are not a failure for trying and failing but for failing to try".

But you might need a recon for your operation, don't ever rush into it.

Nigeria na wa. Last time I visited the new US embassy in Libreville Gabon, it was like a huge prison yard, I did not see a single soul, only parked cars, there was a pin drop silence, but I hear that in Abuja and Lagos is like a huge market.

Gabonese prefer to try to relocate to France. Even people from Swaziland get 10 year visa to America these days.

That was before Trump Administration took over na. Trump took over January 2017. After that time, Nigerians rushed Canada and Canada requested that the US should reduce visas to Nigerians. That is why things are tougher now.

I advise you to go for Canada for now.
