My cousin wants 2 marry his step-sis & d family are against it...Right or Wrong? by samysmoothfresh: 9:20pm On Nov 28, 2018
My uncle had a son with his first wife but sadly the wife died sometime back.

20 years after her death, he found love again and married a woman who has a grown daughter from her first marriage.

Its been two years since they got married now the problem is his son and step daughter somehow fell in love and want to get married but the whole family including my dad are going against it.

Personally, i dont see anything wrong in it cos they are no blood-related.

Is my family right to go against their love?
Re: My cousin wants 2 marry his step-sis & d family are against it...Right or Wrong? by IamD18: 9:26pm On Nov 28, 2018
They are blood-related.

The said lady is bloodily-related to her mother, the mother is bloodily-related[Raw sex] to her husband, while her husband being the father is bloodily-related to his son. So they are related. You don't expect a man to marry his half-sister.

Do you even know how many times my people have introduced fine matured ladies to me calling them cousin sisters? Do you know the pains I went through seeing such looking ladies as cousin sisters from the mother of my uncle's step brother's biological father of her step son?

E dey pain wella angry

Its hundred percent against "moral principle".

=>They both have your uncle as their dad and her mom as their mom.

=>We all know that people will still do what they want to do in this grossly morally bankrupt age.

Same thing Whitney Houston's adopted son did to her daughter. Bad ending as usual.

true but she has the blood of her mum and biological mother running through her veins while he has my uncle and his late wife's blood rflowing through his veins.

So technically, they are not related in anyways aside the step sibling ish!

Like i said, i dont see anything wrong in it sha.

Hmmm, so how will or what will they call both parents after the wedding? inlaws or what precisely it is morally not right.

I know you're in support of it but its just not right. I don't even support two in-laws getting married.
Re: My cousin wants 2 marry his step-sis & d family are against it...Right or Wrong? by francis247(m): 1:03pm On Nov 29, 2018
If they met as adults or even teenagers, there is no sense nor logic whatsoever morally nor ethically in hindering them from being romantically involved or getting hitched. If they had met as children, then it would be a different ball game entirely.

lol! I salute you. Just be sure you're stating what you really think, how you really feel on this matter, that you're not elaborating what you think or feel people would like to hear.

Being step siblings and being half siblings are quite different dispositions. With the former, there is no blood relationship whatsoever as opposed to the latter where the parties supposedly involved are related by the blood of either of both parents. However, it can be said to be a little weird getting married to one's step sibling just as it can be weird when parents who are already in-laws get married to each other.

Your cousin sisters are related to you by blood. That's why they're your cousins. The premises of your comparison are quite distant from that of the OPs.

Well said. Unfortunately the average African would rather consider dispositions such as the OPs from the subjective rather than the objective point of view.

Old enough to know what is right and wrong ma'am. And what has my age got to do with my comment?

Yeah, It is very right because there is no direct blood line between them, no matter what. They can never be, entirely different father and mother. their parents getting married is just by name and married status, no direct and natural bloodline between the children.
Re: My cousin wants 2 marry his step-sis & d family are against it...Right or Wrong? by ibkayee(f): 6:21pm On Nov 29, 2018
There’s no genetic connection between them so they won’t end up like the Hasburgs or anything but it’s just weird. Also, step-siblings are still included in the definition of incest in some countries, I’m not sure about Nigeria though (if that’s where they reside).

Again, it’s weird...

Is my family right to go against their love?

The young man and the lady share the same mother so they should not get married.

It's even against the genetic code, unless they want to start having children with weird syndromes.

they dont share the same mom.

My cousin, the guy, is a product of my uncle and his late wife's marriage while my step cousin, the lady, is a product of the marriage between my step aunt, the mother, and her ex-husband.

If the son had married the lady ahead of his father's marriage to the woman...it would have stopped the father from marrying the woman....in a country like Nigeria it's like a taboo I guess.
