As a graduate of Physics that took a number of courses in Quantum Physics for 2 semesters during my university days and still follow latest developments in the field, who cares about the parochial, dogmatic opinion of a chronic attention seeker?

The fool doesn't know he sounds like someone battling with a sociopathic condition.

Go and sit down. What hypocrisy. When I mentioned that I did philosophy in my university days and still studied it after, did it for one bit make you consider my legitimacy of my correct claims about metaphysics? Now you are flaunting your university experience with quantum mechanics and thinking it would hold any ground.

You may deceive others but not me. From your post, you are a new age philosophy hippy and a spawn of Deepak Chopra. Not even your shabby coup de grace could cover you up. I won't be surprised if you believe there is a link between quantum physics and consciousness. grin

I didn't even quote you when I made that comment, yet you felt the person I described looks like you.

Interesting.

As for your new age/Deepak Chopra bullshit, all this tripe you spew only shows the seriousness of your Alexia (word blindness) if not, you wouldn't be making baseless accusations even after I stated yesterday that it's not a smart move to join any group, religion, or movement.

The major reason I made that statement was because of dogmatic folks like you, trying so hard to defend your atheistic dogma and ending up displaying your sociopathic tendencies.

Really? Are you trying to lie or do you have dementia? After asking what you could possibly know about quantum mechanics, you replied with the show off and insult :

How could this have been a reply to other "dogmatic folks like me"? Did the other folks question your knowledge of quantum physics? The upper case statement could only refer to a single person not a set of folks like me and that single person is Martinez19, obviously. cheesy

You are either a liar, a dementia stricken fellow, low iq person or someone who struggles with the English language. I think it's the first and third. grin

I don't know your view about the Soul or consciousness.

Personally, I see the soul as the essence of man. Without it, a person is regarded as dead.

In this regard, I find this statement made by Plotinus, a Greek philosopher, apt:

"We may treat the Soul as in the body — whether it be set above or below it — since the association of the two constitutes the one thing called the living organism, the Animate. Now from this relation, from the Soul using the body as an instrument, it does not follow that Soul must share the body's experience: a man does not himself feel all the experiences of the tools with which he is working."

One can infer from this notion that soul is the real you and only uses the body as a tool or instrument to seek life experience in the physical world.

This tool, the body, dies at a specific time, unlike the soul, which is immortal.

Do you believe that the soul is immortal?

It's. Even though some may not accept this fact

When someone dies, their soul may choose to move on to other realms.

Occasionally, this does not happen. Some people may die for hours, days, months, years, but their soul may still choose to use their body and enter it again after initially departing from it.

This is an aspect of the concept, reincarnation. In Nigerian cultures, there is a plethora of accounts of people that were pronounced dead somewhere, only for them to be found in another place entirely, leading a normal life.

These happenings are quite observed all over the world, in all cultures.

The concept is called "akudaya" in Yoruba.

In developed nations, some cultures call it "NDE". And one of the many things the whites excel in more than us is keeping records.

On this website, https://www.nderf.org/NDERF/NDE_Archives/archives_main.htm, there are hundreds of NDE accounts, where people that died and came back to life share their experiences.

This serves as proof that people spend 2 lives or more on this planet.

NDE, or "Akudaya" in local parlance, is an aspect of a broader concept, known as reincarnation.

At death, the soul may choose to still come back to inhabit a body after vacating it initially for a while and continues utilising it as a tool to seek life experience.

Go through that website and evaluate some accounts of NDERs.

There also many of such cases, reported by a number of Nigerian newspapers. You would have heard of such happenings.

Those accounts serve as proof that some people live twice on earth.

There are hundreds of such accounts. The large volume gives credence to the claim.

NDEs are not proof of reincarnation, they are proof people have NDEs. The large volume doesn't address the fact that NDEs do not prove anything beyond NDEs.

I don't want proof of NDE, I want proof of multiple lives.

NDEs may not be apt term to describe all the observed cases. The term is used to describe a number of situations, related to death or impeding death.

I use "NDE" or akudaya here to refer to specific cases of individuals that were pronounced clinically dead and came back to life, or were buried and still observed by few people in another place, leading a normal life.

This serves as proof of some people leading multiple lives.

I don't use "NDE" to refer to cases of impending death, such as one having a close brush with death in a road accident, for example.

If something happens and is reported once or twice, it could be seen as a sham. But if there are over 50 reports of different cases about that thing, it's logical to regard such reports as having candor.

How can I make it clearer? IT IS NOT PROOF OF REINCARNATION. They are essentially the same people living the same lives. You say people have lived multiple lives, where is the proof of that?

"The process involved in near-death experiences is much like the process involved in reincarnation. The experiencer leaves their body, enters the spirit world for a time, then returns to the physical world. The exception is that the near-death experiencer enters the same body it left and not a new body (i.e., fetus)." — Kevin Williams

You're right: NDEs do not serve as proof for reincarnation.

But they do serve as evidence of people leading more than one life on earth using the same body.

By definition their lives didn't end so how is it multiple lives?

So I should take it there is no evidence for reincarnation then?

There are many cases involving death that are termed NDE. Looking at such cases, one can see the facile definition of near-death experience doesn't really describe the specific reports of the people that were pronounced clinically dead and later came back to life.

When I use "NDE" here, I mean cases of "Akudaya" that actually died and came back to life, not those people that experienced approaching death.

The former can be regarded as a happenstance, whereby a person has had more than one life on earth.

In a number of such cases reported by the media, the said persons were found to be leading a completely new life in a different location, with a new job, new life, etc.

About reincarnation: these statements could lend credence to the concept of reincarnation and be taken as proof, showing it's a real phenomenon:

1. If a member of a family dies, there are some instances where a new baby is born soon after the demise of this person and shares a number of similar traits with the deceased. Such traits could have to do with their character, a body mark present in the new baby at exactly the same spot in the dead person.

2. Such small children seem to be wiser than their age and could look older than their age, even though their parents are a young couple, who are comfortable. This rules out poverty and old age in parents as the factors responsible for this occurrence.

I have witnessed, firsthand, a number of such cases with kids born in my family.

There are other proofs stated in the works of prominent psychologists, such as Carl Jung, etc., who investigated the concept using repressed memories of subjects from their past lives.
