Hello I need help on what to prepare for I am applying for F2 visa, what are the likely questions I might encounter at the embassy and do I have somebody who have gone for this and the visa was granted.pls contact me.
.

Well, both f1 and f2 still depends on how can confuse the vo about ur home tie and ur financial capability here in USA, if u can show home tie to ur country i.e if u can let the vo know u and ur 1 willll come back after the completion of the studies then u good to go. U can go along with the pictures of ur marriage, marriage certificate and other things that will show u are legally married to f1 in case the need arise. .
Good luck

In addition, while f1 is eligible to work on campus for maximum of 20 hrs legally, f2 can't work both on and off campus legally. F2 can undergoes part time study in vocation or recreation but ur minor children are eligible to enrol full time studies in elementary or secondary schools.

Kaylhey20:

That form isn't actually compulsory. I completed my WES evaluation this May and I didn't use the form.

I think the form is just to facilitate the release of your credentials.

Thank you! cheesy
CuteRedd:
you don't need that form for WAEC. Has WAEC sent your result to WES? IF Not don't bother just send waec scratch card to WES yourself. Check the WES thread we are doing bulk sending.

Hello, please is it possible to apply for F1 US visa while visiting canada?
.

The US does not generally restrict which embassies a person may apply for a non immigrant visa from. U can apply for non immigrant visa especially b1/b2 from within almost any country u have entered legally but it is always strongly recommended to apply any visa from ur own home country because the country u visited in this case Canada is not experience in evaluating application from anyone except Canadian residents and the application may be denied because they might not be equipped enough to verify ur information. If u are fortunate to be interviewed in Canada for F1 Visa u will still need to prove home tie as a Nigerian. I hope this help? I also stand to be corrected. Good luck

U are still young this might be an advantage for u and it might not be also because u might not be able to show home tie like marital status, past work experience in Nigeria, available properties in Nigeria. I don't know if ASUU is on strike or not, u can use that as a reason to transfer if they are on strike. Most visa officer always look at ur home tie and financial capacity. If u are ok with these two with God on ur side, u good to go.Good luck

Why not complete your bachelor's degree and do your master's degree abroad. Life is not easy anywhere, take your time and don't rush it. Hope you know that Bachelor's degree is very expensive abroad compared to even master's degree?

Also the bsc you will get from your present school valued more by employers than the degree you will get from that community college.

Good afternoon here. Visa approved today at the US consulate in Abuja this morning. Here's my transcript

ME: Good morning ma'am (with a wry smile)
VO: passport and 1-20 please.

VO: why USM
ME: It is classified as a R1 institution by the Carnegie foundation. And the Biological Science department has a diverse approach to their graduate program where researches provide solutions to problems affecting one health

VO: number of schools applied to
ME: 3. I named them.

VO: Why the choice of USM
ME: Aside from the fact that I got a GA, there's also am ongoing research in the lab of Prof **** which is in line with my background as a veterinarian.(not sure I mentioned the scope of the research)

VO; Do you have a letter from the school indicating the funding offered.
ME: YES. Gave it to her

VO: What similarities are there between your background as a vet and molecular biology
ME: As a practicing Vet, an added Knowledge of molecular biology will not only help me better diagnose animal diseases but also develop preventive and curative approaches to the disease, with emphasis on zoonotic diseases.

VO: Plan after graduation
ME: Upon completion of the MSC, I'll have acquired adequate research knowledge, and practical exposure as to enable me pick up a faculty position made available to best graduating students like me from my alma matter upon my return to Nigeria.

VO: Travelled out of the country before.
ME: No I've had no reason to go out of Nigeria

VO: Do you have any relatives or siblings in the US
ME: no I don't

VO: Congratulations, I'll be approving your visa

Things I ensured
1. I ensured I cleared my mind of the interview worried the previous day and assured myself it's not a do or die affair

2. I practiced multiple times in front of the mirror and also with individuals. As a fast speaker, I ensured I learnt the art of clearly stating my statements

3. Upon arrival at the venue, I interacted with people and get to know few.

4. As previously advised(dont know how true), applicants are been monitored upon entrance into the premises for appearance, posture and gestures that could make them look not confident or jittery. So I ensured I maintained a bossy outlook (even when I'm not), ensured my hands were at akimbo and also did not lower my gaze.

5. It's advised to find a way of putting one's strongest point very early in the interview process. As in my case, the VO did not even bother to check for any information on my 1-20 nor did she ask if I got funding until I made mention of it.

6. Lastly as it has been mentioned here, do not forget the GOD factor.

I hope this helps someone.

Yes, my GA funding is in excess of the estimated expenses so bank statement wasn't requested for. Though I took one along just in case.
