What they do is to tamper with the transactions to create volumes and a good balance at the end of the statement period. I learnt the US now has the right to confirm transactions in an account coupled with statement balances (not confirmed though).

I agree with you. Some even allow the agent to fill the ds160 for them. And when the VO ask a question from that ds160. They seem confuse.

Exactly. Think of it. Before the us embassy decided to start checking SOA regularly,maybe they decided to try and check Soa of like 10 applicants for a particular day and they realize about 8 are fake. What do you think they will do?

I read somewhere that about 98% of Chinese,Japanese and Korean applicants get their f1 visas. They don’t ask this Asian students majority of the questions they ask us. And you already know why.

Listen, even if your statement is 100% genuine, the visa can still be refused --even after initial approval, and with funding, you are still not safe.

I was refused in October with full funding and I told a friend who resides in Jersey but he is of Liberian decent. He was shocked to the marrow that why will they refuse me with full scholarship. That he knows of of close relations and friends that came to the USA through F1.. That none was denied!! He said Nigeria is bad mhen.. He almost cried fa.

Different schools vary. Some can take a week while some can take a month. Depends on how fast the school is. Some school issues it in days. But remember u still gotta consider courier transport also.

Apply for an Expedited Appointment

Overview

If you have an unforeseen travel need as per one of the criteria listed below, you may qualify for an expedited appointment depending on availability at the Embassy or Consulate. Qualifications

Before you apply for an expedited appointment, you must ensure that you have documentary evidence to prove the urgency. Students or exchange visitors

Purpose of travel is to begin or resume a valid program of study in the United States within 60 days when no regular visa appointments are available. This option is limited only to students and exchange students who are within 60 days of their start date. It is also limited only to applicants who have not been refused a visa within the last six months at either the U.S. Embassy in Abuja or the U.S. Consulate General in Lagos.

Essential documentation:

Original Form I-20 or DS-2019 indicating start date of program within 60 days.

Applying for an Expedited Appointment

Step 1

Pay the visa application fee.

Step 2

Complete the Nonimmigrant Visa Electronic Application (DS-160) form.

Step 3

Schedule an appointment online for the earliest available date. Please note that you must schedule an appointment before you can request an expedited date. At the time you schedule your appointment, you will see an onscreen message showing the earliest available appointment date, which includes expedited appointments. Accordingly, you may find that it is not necessary to request an expedited appointment because there are no earlier dates available. If you wish to proceed with requesting an expedited appointment, then complete the Request Form or contact the call center to request assistance. Please be sure to note the criteria you believe qualifies you for an expedited appointment. Once you have submitted your request, please wait for a response from the Embassy, which will come via email.

Step 4

If the Embassy approves your request then you will receive an email alerting you to schedule your expedited appointment online. Please understand that the call center cannot schedule your expedited appointment for you, but agents are able to assist you if questions arise. Should the Embassy deny your request for an expedited appointment, you will be notified of the denial by email and you should keep your existing appointment.

Hello, I hope the information I am about to give will be helpful. This is not a problem. Just send an e mail to the school and ask them to update your i20 and Sevis. Immediately I saw your post, I mailed my school directly telling them that I need an updated i20 and Sevis covering all my GA benefits. To my surprise is has been updated.
Thank you for sharing your “challenge”. It helped me and I hope my contribution will be helpful also.

I have called the ISSO office and they have updated it. They said they will be shipping the new 1.20 by tomorrow. Thanks guys. Am very grateful. I will update you guys every step of the way

I know this kind of thing should be school dependent, and that's why I asked for the average time. Thanks anyways. One can book interview with the scanned copy from the university before receipt of the hard copy, so no much qualms with the courier delivery time.

It's not really like their right persay. A bank's duty to a customer is confidentiality. A bank statement is a confidential document and the moment you hand them to the embassy you've only transferred authority to verify your statement which has the balance as at the date of printing. The embassy would ask the bank if the statement originated from them. Any transaction further than the last date on the statement or any further enquiries about your statement will require the customer's permission before the bank can release such to the embassy.
