£1500 payment on a fully comprehensive policy on a Clio, sounds a bit excessive though... I would wager £600 - £800........

1500? Is it to buy another car? If you shop around you should get for less than half of that.

My people, how do you know you are actually ready for your driving test? I want to judge if I should just go ahead and do the test or keep practising.

Still making some mistakes at the roundabout.

best practice, if you make serious errors, instructors usually drive the car back. There's no trial and error

If you are making mistakes at roundabouts, you are possibly not ready. This mistakes you are making, are under normal driving conditions, if you add the tension of the driving test to it, you might make worse mistakes.

What sort of mistakes are you experiencing?

It's one particular roundabout where I am supposed to go straight ahead on the right lane. So once I judge it safe to move to the left I signal and start but instructor says I do it too early.

Then maintaining lanes in unmarked big roundabout sometimes as well. I taya no be small.

In order to stop contributing to your driving instructors piggy bank, if you know someone that has held a full driving licence for 3 years, get them to add you on their insurance (weigh the extra cost), add an L plate front and back and go practicing.......

Are you using manual or automatic?

Incase anyone wants designer trainers, for a fraction of the price........

Will explore that route, it is even timing that is my problem. Can only do Saturday most time.

Using automatic.

Automatic is automatically much easier, it takes the gearing ratio away.....

You just need more practice...... If you get someone and do a 4 hour roundabout training. On the 5th hour, you would be a pro, at the end of 4 Saturday intensive sessions.......

Even at that...... That's about £336.00 per pair. Some might cost way more or less.... But just for calculations sake.......

coming from Nigeria with a weak currency often messes up my pysche when I want to purchase certain things

You go to a restaurant and they say the bill is say $24 for example, I start doing maths in my head and start feeling sorry for myself cheesy grin

Even in Ghana, each time I buy a drink for 3.5 cedis as opposed to 1.3 cedis equivalent in Nigeria, I will just he shaking my head

but to them, it's not much of a big deal.....
dem don present the shoe for bend down select
make una buy o tongue

Let's even put weak currency to one side, £336 is a lot of money for a pair of shoe.....

But on certain aspects, spending hard currency for a visitor might have you doing quick calculations and aborting misson...... But, we only live once......

of course its a lot of money for shoes

Coming from a $hithole country with $hithole currency makes the predicament even worse.

90%of Nigerian workers don t even make that amount in one month

You are right, you only Iive once

But reckless spending is out of it for me cheesy grin

It is a lot of money bro. I went into selfridges once to checkout their louboutins. The one I liked was £1200, fear catch me. If I buy that, it's not touching the floor. So it's a waste of scarce resources.

LOL that would have defeated the purpose of having the shoe. I don't even have Instagram, twitter or Snapchat, I'd have loved to show it off.

Aside nairaland, I don't do social media.
Nairaland cos I want to belong to Nigerian online community.

It invades my privacy a lot and encourages fake lifestyle which I abhor.
