Good morning everyone. I was scheduled for an interview on the 5th of December, however, I rescheduled it owing to a delay in the arrival of an important document. The document is available right now and I have already rescheduled my interview. please what reason will be reasonable enough to give the VO for my no show?

Hello Nairalanders,

I have gotten my Visa and ewill be living Nigeria by December. My school is at South Dakota and will want to book my flight to chicago then take a 10hour bus to South Dakota because the flight to South Dakota is quite expensive. My question is that, hope I wont encounter any problem with the immigration officers in the USA?

You are confusing yourself. You have rescheduled, so where is the no show coming from? You don't have any business with december 5th again since you have rescheduled. Just go for your Interview on the new date you have.

You took from these thread before going for your Visa interview and you refuse to give back inform of transcript and you are here again asking for point of entry question.

Hello house,

1. I had been denied twice last year in Spring 2018 (November and December). I decided to take a one year break before showing up at the embassy again. In that period, I added a travel history (South Africa - went for a two week vacation), and presently I am on a new job roll in my bank. Last year I was an ATM custodianand now I operate as a Cash Officer. I want to know, if asked, what have changed in your application or why you think you are qualified now, how best do i respond to this question? This is the only headache I have got now. Though I am not married yet.

2. While filling my DS160, I added my current job role (Cash officer in the same bank). But I am confused about the date to put. Do i still maintain the date when I got employed with the bank (since i have not changed firms), or do I put the date the promotion/ move to a new job role was effected? RECALL: They usually ask HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WORKING hence my confusion.

Thanks.

Hello everyone,

Please, was just directed by a Friend to join Nairaland student forum.

I need assistance on 2 affordable schools I could apply for a masters degree. Please, help with names, i'll google and read up about them from your suggestions Please..........

I'll also appreciate if I can get names of schools that does not require application fee payment. I googled and came about Dayton but while applying, I observed I would be required to pay application fee.

I hope to secure a scholarship in the long run as I have good B.Sc result (Business Administration background) and plan on taking a language proficiency test. Kindly point me in the direction of schools I can be lucky with or if your school is currently doing a scholarship programme, Please attention me: I'll take it up from there and do my application.

I await your feedback. Thanks

Depends on the school dear. Do your extensive research well and apply to top ranked schools. You got a very good profile up there, chances are high you will get funding. Don't forget to do your due diligence as regards your SOP. Go and excel.

Go and attend the interview on the new date now! Why are you clamoring on the previous date.
The previous date is irrelevant!

Yes you're right. But I wouldn't know reasons for that as yesterday was my first time. But one thing I think one should ensure is to present one's strongest argument with topmost confidence. At the point of mentioning my GA funding I said it with a calm and assured face while still maintaining eye contact, so this made the VO asked for the funding letter and she literally punched the calculator to know if I have any deficit. Similarly, while responding to plans after study, it was more of me shouting at her that I have a lecturing position waiting for me cuz I graduated best of my set. So in all, you also need to ensure you psychologically cause chaos in the VO's mind, so as to win the BATTLE OF TWO MINDS

If asked. Don't ever mention travel history because it will appear as if you just travelled just to get stamps to add to your history.

For the work dates. You can split them.
For example.
Team lead, ebanking, 2005 - 2008
Business Banker 2003 - 2005.

As for what changed. Try to figure out what you think could went wrong in your last interview, build your response around that. Do you know the funniest thing, what you thought could be wrong on your side might be different from the comment the V.O left on your profile.

Hey there, you've got a very good profile I must say. I didn't even come close to any of your grades but still got an admit with a fully funded tuition scholarship and monthly stipend in form of A RA.

So my take is this if your proposed department requires you mail professors, please do and mail as many as possible. Be open as to your plan (Msc or PhD), you should also be flexible in your area of interest (animal science, animal nutrition, biological science, molecular biology, genetics and so on are areas I believe you can fit into).

And as someone rightly opined your SOP will also go a long way in increasing your chances.

In all I'll advice you time yourself as I see you getting admit for fall. All the best

I don't think u will have any issue. But I advice u to take ur bus ticket along in case, the Poe officer want to confirm. Book ur bus ticket in Nigeria, the most popular bus is Greyhound bus then choose print ticket at home so that u will able to print ur ticket in Nigeria before leaving. Greyhound bus at the bus station in Chicago leave early or sometime late, so u need to be there early, am close to Chicago. U will connect downtown Chicago from o hare international airport via blue line train at the airport. Safe journey

Good evening,

Pls I need your suggestions urgently as I will be going for my interview soon. My uncle and my Aunty will be sponsoring my trip to the US but when I was filling my Ds160 the availabile space could not contain the two names so I filled my aunty.

1. Is it reasonable for me to tell the VO that my Aunty and my uncle will be responsible for my expenses over there even if I did not state my uncle’s name in the ds160 form? Note: my uncle’s account is his company’s account

2. What is the maximum period a statement of account should be? Is 29th of October not too late

Pardon my errors pls
