The choice is yours my brother. You can wait till next year, but be aware that things might change next year and the CRS score may sky rocket.. You never know.. You don't know when ASUU will call of this strike and assuming ASUU calls off the strike today.. It will take at least 2- 3 months before she will conclude her masters. Add 2- 3 months for ECA. You are looking at going into the pool in July - August.

Whereas if you apply now, both of you may get PR before August..

My wife is still using her maiden name and we plan to change her name when we get to Canny land.

Having said that, the final decision is yours.. Good luck brother.. In all it will end in praise..

I think I didn't state things clear enough. Let me buttress my points further.
I only have Bsc and 3yrs Working experience... If I apply as single and must max out on IELTS, then I'll arrive at 441... which isn't strong enough.
If I apply as married and she joins her BSc. ECA and max out IELTS.. then we end up in 445!!

But as things are presently... she's in the best position to be the PA and the advantage will only be after the Msc. has been concluded and she only need 8777 in IELTS whether applying as single or Married because of the MSc. advantage.

Let's forget about the maiden name of passport part for now... Waiting for The MSc. is the best way out.

I'm keeping tabs on the draw though.. and even if CRS skyrockets... with her MSc... 3yrs working experience and 8777 IELTS... there's hope.
She'll either apply as single or I boost the score with my own ECA and IELTS (I would have to write IELTS) then.... which can still give us at least 465+ CRS score.

So I've done my assignments and checked out all scenarios using the CRS tool....

Thanks for the response sir.

Understood.

If you are using APEGA, it might be easier to use WES once and for all so you can just pay for conversion later. But if you have the dough, shoot your shot and do both.

I don't know about Unilag, but generally once Senate approves your results, then statement of results and transcripts can be applied for, then you can start.

All the best.

Thank you sir.
I think its better to do it once and for all then... Because even if WES delays me and all things being equal for spouse who will be the PA... with 8777 IELTS, MSc. ECA, she would get CRS 445 and can continue to swim in the pool which is still a good score.

Ps: Not sure what the “it is mature” comment refers to though. Cheers.
It's the correct adjective. Trying so hard not to be seen as a grammar nazi, you know.

once her Results are approved she can apply for transcripts to be sent to Canada, and also apply for Statement of result instead of waiting for certificate to make things faster.
My wife finished her masters there around Jan this year. So she should be watching out for result approval.

So I’d actually hoped that wasn’t what it was about. (Benefit of doubt and all) Not sure this is the best approach as it/you’d come across as borderline condescending and the “Grammar Nazi” you’re making this huge effort not to be.

Don’t know you so won’t go so far as to state with certainty that that was your intent.

More importantly, you don’t know me mate. So please don’t.

Not with me.

Cheers.

They almost have the same structure but you'll still go back to ieltsadvantage.. I can bet you on this.
He made Task 1 looked like nursery rhymes.. I mean, I can literally write any task one follow ieltsadvantage. Also, he made task 2 as simple as possible... I love the part where you can make up any examples to support your main point...
"In 2014, a survey published by Nairaland Magazine in Nigeria, stated that of the 100 candidates that wrote IELTS using BC, only 25% scored an average of 6.5 blah blah blah"
Just few difference between Jay and Chris ielts advantage.

I can't wait to download all I've read and mastered to Bae to bring her up to speed biko.

I have been hearing this advice a lot, about applying before marrying to get PPR for both spouses, obviating the need for ECA, IELTS. If this is completely true, it saves a whole lot.
But I want someone who has done this and got PPR for his or her dependent spouse to confirm if the Visas issued to both of them were exactly the same (Permanent Residency Visas). One thing is getting PPR, but another thing is what visas were stamped in their both passports.

Someone please educate us o, before people enter one chance, and at the end of the day their partners are given something like a 'Visiting Visa/Spousal Visa or something like that, pending when the partner can apply themself as Primary applicant (don't forget that in that CRS tool, there is a place where they ask if your spouse is a Canadian Permanent Resident or a Canadian citizen).

The reason I am asking is that, if it is not the same 'Permanent Residency Visa' that is given to the dependent spouse at the end of the day (of course we know the benefits of being a PR as opposed to other visas), then it is better for a dependent fiance(é) to do all the necessary ECA and IELTS and marry the Principal applicant before the latter applies.

Am I making sense?

So I visited their office as advised on Thursday and I was informed that they haven't gotten a feedback from Cambridge yet.
I just hope that they haven't forgotten my Re-mark somewhere on a table in Cambridge.

Please has anyone ever applied for a re-mark with BC that took longer than the 6 week time??
The suspense is killing me.
bharbhyie:
May I suggest you visit their office on Friday and find out the status.

I submitted my EOR form on the 13th, received an email on the 19th that it had been sent to the EOR team

I got a mail on Sunday last week that the remark is completed and I should pick up anytime from 15th.

I’m trusting God and keeping faith for upgraded results in Jesus name.

It will end in praise. Amen

He actually quoted you out of context. It's a good message to pass across to those intending to write their exam soonest. It is an obvious fact that the exam is simple, yet it still humbles a lot of people.

For the first timers, when they have it in their subconscious that it's simple, with proper preparation, they can ace it once.

With the IELTS panic mode on this thread, some new comers will go into the exam hall defeated.
May God help us all in the pursuit of our dreams.
Thanks bro; glad someone understands me. cheesy

I have been following silently from the beginning and finally got here. Congrats to everyone who has gotten their PPR and aced their IELTS your success stories has inspired me to give EE a shot.. I have signed up for Ielts in Jan and I hope that I ll also come here to testify at the and of it all. I have some issues that need clarification on and I humbly ask for the opinion of anyone with answers.
I have a B.Eng in petroleum Engineering and Msc in information Technology Engineering (Both Nigerian Degrees), I have 1 year experience with NYSC--physics teacher, 3 years experience as a Web developer (self taught) , worked with a friend in his IT startup (just 3 of us) for 2 years. we did contracts mostly and pay didn't come in regularly every month ( He is currently in the process of registering the business name with CAC). However I left to pursue my M.Sc in 2017. After my Msc, I got CCNA and I'm currently working as a Network administrator (2 months).
I want to build a career as a network engineer and possibly advance into cybersecurity or analytics.

Q--> Would you advise me to go with noc 2281--Computer network technicians. Despite not having up to one year experience or continue with
Web development noc 2175--Web designers and developers, (which is still a side gig for me). Or use NYSC which can be easily substantiated.

NB..i checked the CRS tool, Maxing out my Ielts will put me on 456 with 1 year experience and 481 with 3 years experience.
I am weary of using web developer noc because there are no legal documents (Payslip, Appointment letter, certification etc) to back it up.

NYSC should be enough!! I will advise you get the process hitting now as their might be a change in the system given the upcoming elections (the conservatives most likely will tighten things)

Good day house. Please can degree evaluation be done with WES with another means of identification say National ID card or drivers license aside international passport.
International passport needs correction with DOB which is going to cost a lot and would want to sort ECA out while the passport issue get sorted.
If No, is there any other evaluating body that accepts other means of identification aside passport.
Kindly help touch light this matter. Thanks

Did WES ask you to submit passport for evaluation? You are the first person I am seeing this from. WES does not require any means of identification, only WAEC if your degree is Nigerian. Btw, why do you want to use WES?
