My US trip. I will try not to make it a long read. This is my 2nd day here.
I know someone in New Orleans, same school as yours. A Nigerian.

How do I send his contact to you?

Thank you so much
So are you assuring me there is no cause to fear cos im lil bit afraid here.
Thats why i come to meet you my people to give me way out.

Godchangemylife:

Do not use tipex on any of your documents related to the embassy. A simple clean straight line(cross out) would indicate something went wrong .

Cc Lagosismyhome once said this sometimes ago when someone did the same.

Before you go inside for your interview you will be told how to arrange your documents.
Basically this is what you need:
Visa appointment confirmation print out
DS-160 confirmation print-out
GT Bank ViSa fee receipt
Sevis receipt
International passport
I-20 including acceptance letter
SOA
Any other VISA supporting letter from your university.
When you go in keep your I-20 and International passport close by cos you will need to give the VO.However, wait for the VO question before giving him/her.
Note:you will not pay any fee and no colour photocopy of international passport is needed.
Except you want to pay someone a little change to help keep your luggage that is not needed inside the consulate.

This is not always the case. Did you know there's a case here recently whereby the consular went behind the owner of the account and even access her transaction details. They were reading the transaction flow to the owner of the statement--without her consent. This is a Zenith Bank. You don't know what they do with the statement. They go beyond what you think they have right to do. Na those who sabi the system can beat am!

EZEIGBO1OFIMO:
The thing is that the embassy can only call your bank to ascertain if what was given to them was valid at the date it was issued; they have no right to request for bank statements, as it's a fiduciary relationship which can only be circumvented with a valid court order. So your friend is safe at least, in this context.

[quote author=kidUrbane post=73914307]Good morning House,
I plan on pursuing my masters in the US. I intend applying to a program that is completely unrelated to my undergraduate program. Like from Agriculture to social sciences. Would this be a red-flag during my interview? Guys please help with answers to this question.
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 14 by fairheart(m): 2:15pm On Dec 17, 2018
Why do you want to switch? What is the motive behind this decision? Let's start here, then we will see if you know what you actually want? Then from here, you can proceed.

Embassy has no hand in what you submit to the school. Embassy use what you take to the embassy!

I will advice you and others who'll be going to embassy for Summer and Fall 2019: Tell your sponsor to run the account. Let millions of Naira flow through and out. Don't go and dump the millions when total credit is lower. If you have fix deposit documents, go with that. The amount your sponsor should have is supposed to be determined by his financial capacity and how much he's able to generate from his source of funds, not by how much your program cost or how much you want him to have. Check your I-20 and see how much is required for the program.

358 X $20, 500 = 7.3M. Your sponsor should have 10M or more, and the total credit should be like X2 of that available balance--to show he is financially capable to pay for the next academic year. I am surprised you did not know this basic information at this moment.

Good luck.

Are you going for masters? In that case, 10M above would do. Try and get some scholarship.

Lol. When you do a fix deposit or Tbills, there's a certificate or docs your bank give to you. That is the document I was referring to. If you don't have the document, go to the person in charge at your bank and ask for it. Or, ask for a reference letter stating such money is fixed with the bank. Tell the bank official you need the letter for embassy.

What if the sponsor is unable to show the balance on the account based on how fluid he is with cash but had the balance on the account a day before and transacts over 200mil in 6 months ?
