Hi Pals, I'm using a Xiaomi Mi Note LTE and am currently stuck on Android version 4.4 (see attached pic). I want to upgrade to the most recent and reliable Android version but don't know how to go about it. Will be glad if anyone can assist me on the steps I need to take to upgrade. Thanks.
NB: Have checked if there is any OTA update but there isn't.

Unlock bootloader. Search Google for steps.
Then flash this fastboot rom http://bigota.d.miui.com/V9.2.3.0.MXEMIEK/virgo_global_images_V9.2.3.0.MXEMIEK_20180103.0000.00_6.0_global_ad722b0d54.tgz

Search Google for steps .

You will lose your data, so backup before proceeding

I have come to understand that the best way to use a phone optimally - without having to jump from one new phone to another is to start flashing custom roms (it gives different experience and that's basically why we buy new phones; the new experience). I have always wanted these new experiences that's why I have used 4 different phones this year, and the worst part is, I give out the old ones (I had to) and... That's my loss.

But not anymore.

I heard that the first step to flashing custom rom on a Xiaomi phone is to unlock bootloader. The method I found online is not working. I think it's outdated.

I just need someone to point me to the right way of unlocking bootloader. My device is RN5 4gb/64gb.

I just upgraded my Redmi S2 to MIUI 10 version, now my battery drain fast. Is there any way I can resolve this?

Please how can I stop all this unnecessary advert on my xiaomi phone, every time I unlock it, it take me to useless video advert. Anyone got trick of how I can stop it ?

I have connected my phone to my mi account and downloaded the mi flash and usb drivers. I am currently backing up my phone as I read that it will delete all my files. My intention is to flash a rom Miuipro 8.12.13 pie by olegpolisan1 to be precise. I need steps on what to do after backing up. By steps I mean things I need to do to flash a rom successfully. Thanks

I'm not rooted boss, but the advert that pop up now is making think otherwise for xiaomi now.... even if I open the music app, immediately I will see a video advert playing. angry

You must have installed a third-party app that comes with ads
