Just2endowed2: Not listed yet doesn't mean it will not be listed. Besides, I don't know why someone will take his time to apply for bond of this structure and want to liquidate less than 2 weeks. Such fellow should deal more in the stock market. |

zinaunreal: Yes. My biz is forex exchange, I liquidated my CAD when it was 290 and invested in TB over 2yrs ago and now naira to dollar is 270 to 280. Remmemeber that my TB has been on constant rollover. If I should liquidate my TB now, I should be making over 30000$cad just in a space of 2yrs. I dont always like to comment, I preferred to read peoples comment and move. No time 1 Like |

needful: So you are comparing unstable Canadian dollars with stable Naira/USD for the past 2 years. You are better off hedging your CAD in Naira considering the volatility in CAD. In 2012, CAD was stronger than USD and fast forward to today. 1 USD is now 1.32CAD. CAD has lost more than 32% since i started tracking it from 2012. I hope you are not surprised for such depreciation in CAD, imagine Brent crude that is selling for 59.92 USD while Western Canadian Select, WCS was selling for 33.93 USD. Infact, 3 months ago, it went as low as 8 USD coupled with the fact that, Canadian economy depends on US economy. 1 Like |

Gurus in the house, please I invested in TB in Oct 2018 for 91 days duration. The interest entered my account on Oct 4. I expected my capital to drop in my account of its own accord since Jan 5 but today is Jan 9. How much longer am I supposed to wait for it? Or am I supposed to go the bank for it? Thank you. |

Jejebabaa: My dear, I don't wanna argue with you because I do not know how to argue. But pls, for ur info, Canadian dollar has never ever been stronger than usd. And to further elaborate my point. In 2016, usd was way over 400 per naira, as at 2017 and 2018, it came down to 350 to 360 etc. Where are all of u predicting it to get to 1000 by now. I repeat, u cant use present info to predict future because forex market is full of fluctuations. My 2cent though. 4 Likes |

needful: Can you quote one person who said it will get to 1,000 by now? No one said so. The point made is still flying over many people's head. Logic, you pick a time range that favors naira, lol! How about the time range of 2015 till date? How about the time range of 1987 till date? The charts are there for everyone to see. Then again, what is this logic behind naira salary earners not being affected? I thought we were all smart people here. To disprove a point you bring an illogical statement? Truth is with a naira depreciation in value to the USD, it's people who earn forex who won't be affected. For the people who earn in naira? Not so much. And the most painful thing? From 2015 till date how many Nigerians salary has increased? We all know the answer to that. Are we all blind to the fact that a decrease in value of the naira to a dollar in a country that imports everything from toothpicks to rice will affect the price of goods and services? What currency are this things bought with? Definitely not your naira. It was after the naira problem laptops, phones, bag of rice, and so many other things doubled in price. So all this did not happen? Salary earners did not suffer and are not still suffering it? Can anyone can tell me one thing being done that is different from 1987 till date in Nigeria? When you look closely, you will see things are still the same. All in all. Since you guys just want to win an argument. Know what? You win! I and others trying to advise others are very wrong. We don't know what we are saying. We are obviously saying nonsense. 6 Likes |

I Know there's been a long debate on this What happens when you bought T-bills at a low amount and then the prices go up. Does it make sense to sell and jump in again? Hope the gurus will help out Using real examples A 1million bought at 11.15% in August 16, 2018 for 364 primary market. Does it make sense to sell now? 1 Like |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by TONY56: 2:27pm On Jan 10, 2019 |
cooldudeng: What type of sense will that be? If you sell it now, you will lose some money. That is, you will cough out more than what you received as upfront interest and you will also lose by selling it at higher rate because the buyer will receive higher rate than you received. On the other hand, if you bought at say 15% and you want to sell now at 11.5%, then you will gain at the end of the day because you will pay the buyer at 11.5% whereas you received 15% when you bought it-that's how Treasury Bills work. Thus aspect of Treasury Bills has been explained on this forum severally by my humble self and many others in the year 2017/2018. So if anyone needs further clarification, they should visit past thread. 8 Likes |

teeielts360: Kindly pardon my ignorance regarding the question am about to ask. 70 days gives 13.5% while 357 gives 14.5% Imagine I got 13.5% after 70 days, I'm thinking I can invest about 4 times (70 days ) in 357 days. And get 4 x 13.5% interests Am I wrong? 1 Like |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by unite4real: 3:11pm On Jan 10, 2019 |
Ourown: You are so wrong because if it was like this, people will work and save from salary for only 1 or 2 years. Invest the money in TB for 30 days tenor each and rest forever. Actually whenever you are dealing with a bank and you hear interest, do know it is per annum. You can then prorate accordingly 2 Likes |
