A HIV victim who is religious with his meds has a high CD4 count and that means, replication of the virus is halted, making the transfer of the virus almost impossible. In fact, they usually pass negative during HIV test. That doesn't mean you should go ahead and have unprotected sex, but elaborate when giving a response since it's your field.

I keep telling people that this life is not fair, fornicators that have been fornicating have not contracted HIV, its a virgin that has it.

1st of all a Doctor is in the best position to tell you when to start taking your HAART as once you start you can't discontinue it.
2ndly, they're several other ways to have HIV besides sex intercourse so it's totally possible.
I'll advise you rerun the test at another centre to be sure.
certain drugs like Zidovudin in combination with a NNRTIs or PI in your HAART will insure your CD4 cell count idnt too depleted to the point you'll have AIDS
finally to reply some comments i see here;
1 HIV is not found in the saliva, so it cannot be transmitted via kissing no matter how long expect one or more parties have a wound in their mouth that bleeds
2.) A HIV+ woman who is compliant with her medications can have unprotected sex with an uninfected partner without infecting the person as her viral load will be so small it'll almost be undetectable. (it's best to still practice safe sex though)
finally, as long as you exercise, eaf healthy and are complaint with your meds you'll life a totally healthy life and no, you can have children that are HIV -

Seriously HIV itself is very confusing you won't even understand what's going on. Just look at the case of this OP. Except she share needles for hard drugs which I doubt... other risk factors of getting the virus are almost zero. I know a couple of guys who live reckless life, even bang prostitutes raw yet they're negative . Something is not right somewhere. Either the virus na scam or results are extremely unreliable.

There is ABSOLUTELY no need to fret unnecessarily. Overcome yourself and move forward. A tiny proportion nof persons may get infected either vertically through birth or unethical blood transfusion or even needle pricks etc.

Visit a nearby clinic of your choosing and start medication immediately.

As at today there is no drug that can eradicate the virus completely (beware of scam). However the medication would keep the virus suppressed such that you can live your 'normal' life and fulfill the number of your days in absolute sound health like any uninfected person. Arguably, it's better to have HIV and live positively than Hepatotis B (as at today, at least).

You would only need to ABSOLUTELY adhere to your meds, taking them as instructed, when instructed. You MUST develop that discipline.

Be assured that while positive and virally suppressed you can lead a normal life, including marrying someone who is negative and not transmitting the virus and having uninfected kids.
