Now my observation on my schoolmate

* there is a song we use to sing in Assembly in 9JA

higher Higher..
Every day ...
I lift my Jesus higher...
Everyday .... X2

SOME KIDS WERE HIGH ON WEED... Smoking and selling weed is banned in school premises, but some will not hear.
The teacher told us that he is trained in detecting weed smokers and those caught will be suspended.

*Everyone looks and acts matured here, most girls plastered their faces in make up and dressed like they were on a red carpet, will crazy hair styles.

Guys wore chains, rings, ear rings, tattoo , colored hair e. T. C ( I am going to risk my life and see if I can plait my hair without my mom killing me).

* the Hive (lunch room) was filled with kids acting blue film in my front .

* Everyone was speaking the accent,

* I saw some boberisky's or gay's, guys wearing makeup and walking funny

IN CLASS
*when we were asked to introduce ourselves, I said I was a Nigerian immigrant,

* the guys beside me were asking me questions in order to hear my accent ,

* the teacher was telling his life story on how he learnt plumbing at our age started working got married had a son, the company closed down, he decided to go to university when he was 30 to study business but he dropped out because it was boring , he got a job as a coach and this is when he found his passion for teaching, then he went back to school in his mid thirties and became a teacher in prison before he got here...

He then told us not to worry if we don't have a goal yet, that our passion will come later in life..

* in class we were made to take a maths text with the computer and no calculator in order to access our level , I got 98% together with one guy, they didn't expected it grin, the questions were simple and looked like a junior secondary school 3 or 2 exam in Nigeria

Abeg lemme go and get ready because I need to leave for school in an hour or I'll miss the bus

Pls do not be caught in the circle of those weird kids you just described...reading about those gangs just flashed my memory back to late kid Damilola Taylor, may his soul rest in peace...I would never forget reading about him in one of the dailies years ago.

Yes, I am saying it like you were my kid bro...the Nigerian in me won't just keep mute over those kids you just described...you could be in harms way associating with kids like that. Pls stay safe for us. Make us proud. Make Nigeria proud as well. May God be with you.

You wanna touch snow??!!!
So all the cold you've been talking about no snow and you "wanted to freeze"

Now you're waiting for snow, you might end up begging the snow to go, lol.

First impression of school in UK.

*CULTURE SHOCK IS REAL OOOOO

* The teachers were extremely nice and ready to help when they heard I was an immigrant.

* over here (college) it's either you call your teachers sir or ma, or by their first name, I was shocked when 16 and 18 yr olds were calling a 50 year old man TOM.
AHH the thing pain me small.

*the class was pretty advanced with a computer for each student and another big one for the teacher to use as a board,

* the school has like 8 ish story building.

*There are cameras everywhere (except the toilet)

*there is a library with books and computers too but most people use it to check social media instead of reading.

* table soccer, poker table and table tennis is available. (i wanted to trash some people in table tennis but I humbled myself) grin

* KFC, Starbucks , MacDonald e.t.c is available

* there are elevators ( but I'm taking the stairs I need to lose some chicken weight )

* a place to smoke ( stay with me)

* couches to chill with your lover ( words from their mouth)

* kitchens, labs, e. T. C

And that is for the building I'm on because the school has 3 building s of the same size

I still don't believe that it's free.

I'LL DISCUSS ABOUT THE OYIBO CLASSMATE SOON BELOW

Chai. See better country with good settings.

My teacher told me today that most Africans are eager to learn when they school abroad because of the value of education we have.

I am not saying that the white are dumb though

They decide what they want to be and work towards it, not everyone is fighting for the last available spot in university to be a doctor, or engineer.

I decided that I will study computer science I'm uni when I was in Nigeria but when I read some thread on nairaland talking about how they only teach you about computers and ancient programming language I changed to medicine.

But now that I am in a place where if I graduate I will be able to create AI (artificial intelligence) , apps, be an expert in cybersecurity and hacking , game creation, e.t.c. and have a job in any industry ( business, tech, food, textile e.t.c

GOD WILL NOT BE HAPPY IF I WASTE THE CREDIT HE USED TO CALL ME

Let me some things with you guys...

I got closer to my classmates today and I was shocked on how 16, 17 and 18 year old were carrying bia bia.
One guy that I like calling Jesus because of his long hair and beards is 17 chai 17..

I also noticed that phone addiction is real.
In the bus everyone is on the phone
At school
In class
Walking on the road.

Steve Jobs ( one of the inventor of the I phone) would be crying for them wherever he is now.

I met a Nigerian when going to school today.
He looked like fashola, and he was struggling to operate his iPhone, he asked for help and and when he heard my accent he smiled and said '' you can't greet abi Burger has occupy the space ''
Then he started advicing and telling me his life story in Yoruba even though I don't know him and he don't know me, I cant say all but here are some highlights

*his son is a nurse in the UK and his daughter owns a hair salon in America
*he came last 2 year
*he is not working because his children promised to provide everything for him and I should do the same to my parents
*his wife just got her visa and will be her soon

That's all for now I have to go and pray for Liverpool match tomorrow before I sleep bye

* I won't be able to start school till September so I am taking an apprenticeship course in college starting from today.

I guessed as much. Also with regards to starting school in september, I'm sure someone will correct me If I am wrong but I think you'll pay Tuition fees(Not much) if you are 19+ going into Year One in college. It was that way during my time anyways.

What's the plan for next year, Alevels or BTEC?

I don't think so maybe you pay for a level exams though
I am not sure but it's only in university that you have to pay ( by cash or fund by the bank).

And please were you born there or did you travel out?

"If you're under 19 years old on 31 August before you enrol on your course, and you're taking a full- or part-time course funded by the Education Funding Agency, you don't have to pay tuition fees. However, if you're taking your course at a private college, you may be asked to pay a fee"
