Below is former French Air Force (of the CEV test centre) B-26R, USAAF serial 41-39531 and the first of two B-26's delivered to the Biafran Air Force, shown after what looks like a heavy landing resulting in a nose wheel tyre failure.

Then it is quite fortunate for Biafra that Nigeria only had one or two "ordinary" commanders, eh?

If they'd been able to swap out Murtala Mohammed for another "ordinary" Adekunle, I imagine the war would have ended in 6 months.

And if any of them had been "excellent", would the war have lasted 2 months?  wink

Tiger developed a portfolio of investments before the outbreak of his homeland’s civil war. Supporter of the Biafran secession, Tiger’s propaganda and financial support of this cause cost him much. Tiger was appointed CBE by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, but he returned his insignia as a protest for what he perceived as a lack of support by Great Britain to the Biafran cause.

Aigbofa:

Not even Obasanjo or Gowon would make such a statement.

Of course, they would not make such statement because they were not on the side that fought against him.

please stop glorifying biafra just for the sake of it and villifying the federation just for the sake of it.

First of all, as the thread creator, I am not trying to glorify anything, I am simply posting pictures of the civil war, which is part of Nigerian history. Why are you afraid of looking at history? That is the problem with this generation. And I find that PATHETIC.

You are very right. Nigeria would have capitulated within the estimated period.

You foolish people, while you all are dealing with hypothetical situations, you all should be discussing these pictures I have posted.

I have shown you all a rich catalog of the Nigerian Civil War.

gbengalex:

TO Akhenaten:  But your pictures are telling a one-sided story.  So you dont have pictures of attrocities committed by so-called Biafrans?  even against their own people?  Perhaps you should check your dossier properly.  What about photos of Federal troops helping civilian biafrans when their so-called soldiers deserted them?  I bet you have plenty of those but chose to not post them uh?

My pictures show both sides of the story. If you look at the pictures, I show Nigerian leaders and Biafran leaders. I show Nigerian soldiers and Biafran soldiers. The pictures you are viewing were taking by people who were within Biafra, since the war was conducted in the East. Of course you will see Eastern refugees fleeing federal troops, because this is what happened.

I am not here to DEBATE the war. My purpose on this thread is to provide a snapshot of different pictures from the conflict.

If you all have a problem with the pictures I posted. Then post your own pictures. I am simply uploading pictures that I have come across.

If you have pictures of Biafran troops committing atrocities, then provide them. I am not here to argue. Let us see these pictures.
